It's good that you can get on here at least and gain "some" comfort from others who can relate to you. You need this for sure! Mercury toxicity is tormenting and unrelenting when you are seriously poisoned enough.
Yes, I have the same problem with tidying. I don't consider myself a natural slob, but if one took a look at my living environment, they might consider otherwise. I walk past my mess to sit in a chair or lie down. It's not a good way to live, but it's simply the least of my concerns I guess. My mind doesn't motivate me to do the usual and actually get off my rear end and clean and tidy. The RARE occassion I do it and I must force myself to go through the motions. But it's a daily grind just to get up in the morning.
No, I didn't drink whilst chelating or other times (except occassions, which I inevitably got drunk). I am well aware of the effects alcohol can have on mercury toxic people. It can indeed take the edge of things, but I'd be careful with this. As it could readily become a crutch!
I am not sure about the mix of alcohol with DMSA chelation....it maybe ok but somebody more informed on this would be better to answer you.
Candida usually comes with the territory of mercury. Everybody has yeast inside their body, but the problem occurs when the body's immunity is depressed/challenged and can no longer keep yeast in balance. Mercury is a common cause of candida, not only because of its effect on immunity, but apparently candida tends to flourish around toxic metals. Perhaps it's a mechanism of trying to buffer the metal? However, the problem is when it grows even beyond that point and becomes an illness in and of itself.
So combine that with an already mercury toxic body and it can be disastrous as it was in my case. I was so toxic with mercury and candida, I nearly took my own life. Sorry to be dramatic, but that's the truth. Treating candida took the edge of my severe toxicity and gave me just enough increased health to keep going. Took the edge off my anxiety/depression and lifted my immunity.
I was then able to easier cope with the mercury (and other problems).
Tests for candida are apparently pretty unreliable. I usually checked it out by looking at symptoms and doing a candida diet trial. Once I did the diet, it was obvious I had massive overgrowth as the toxins that started to come out of me as the overgrowth was being reduced by a body better equipped with nutrients and less feeding of the candida with sugars/glutens in the diet. It took a few weeks before I started noticing changes. It was worth every bit of the temporary cravings and withdrawal/detox I had to go through to get there.
Candida can cause many similar symptoms to mercury and the both of them can be easily confused. Just google candida symptoms and you may find you relate to many of them, but it's hard to differentiate which is mercury or candida caused....they both tend to make the other worse and offset eachother.
A candida diet might typically be the following:
No sugar, wheat/gluten products, honey, fruit (except lemons/tomatoes), alcohol, coffee, milk/cream. You may also have to reduce or eliminate high carbohydrate vegtables too like potatoes/corn/peas/beans/carrots etc.
It's about reducing overall sugar intake (including natural sugars) and boosting immunity with good foods like protein in eggs/meats/chicken/eggs and consuming more animal fats like butter. Hal Huggins suggested a diet for those suffering with candida that was similar to this with the necessary animal protein intake and good fats.
Low carb vegetables are safe. Raw nuts and acidophilus sugar free yoghurt maybe ok too. It depends on how serious a person has this as to how strict they will need to be. But it can make a really big difference to health.
