The routine in Cutler's book is - 50 mg of DMSA, every 4 hours (around the clock), one week on and one week off. Repeat this for approximately 3 months before introducing alpha lipoic acid. Because of so many very poisoned people - it appears that even 50 mg for some is FAR too high. And chelating for an entire week maybe too much also. So there have been adjustments made to be more flexible to those whose needs maybe different from somebody else less poisoned. So here are some other possibly easier option. You can chelate for 3 days on and 3 days (or more) off if you wish. Or thereabouts. So long as you chelate for longer than 2 days, and probably no longer than a week. Various combinations are ok. E.g. 6 days on, 7 days off (or more if needed). 5 days on, 11 days off. Various ways of doing this, so long as you stick to the basics. The dose can also be reduced to tolerance. So 12.5 mg is now a common dose for people to begin with. Though there are cases of people going down to 6 mg! It is vitally important that you stick to the 4 hourly dosage routine and stick to the same dose you started with throughout the round. Adjustments made to the dose during the round is not advised, as this alters the levels of DMSA in the blood and may cause some redistribution. If you find the dose is too high and it's too much, probably better to stop the round and simply let things settle for a few days and try again on a lower dose. Make sure to wake up at night to take doses also (set an alarm). If you are late with a dose, you may get away with taking it, as long as it's not over an hour late. But even then, it could be risky. If you have been too late, it maybe wiser to stop the chelation round and simply wait for a few days before starting again. I have taken late doses before and been injured by it. I think I was far too late though (more than an hour, up to 2 hours late). So I learned my lesson. But most people have slipped up at onetime or another. It's human and sometimes you sleep through the alarm, or you forget to set the alarm, or you think you've taken a dose and haven't. This weblink here may help you a bit in regards to Cutler's protocol and questions he's been asked. INDEX TO POSTS BY ANDY CUTLER Here are some testimonies of those who have used Cutler's protocol that may help encourage you: CUTLER PROTOCOL TESTIMONIES It is also wise to support your body in anyway you can. Chelation will remove mercury, but your body will require support and I believe diet and supplements are vitally important. Reducing yeast maybe essential in some people who are already overrun by yeast toxins and may not cope well with trying to chelate mercury at the sametime. I've been there myself and had to reduce my yeast overgrowth with a good diet before I could tolerate some chelation. A gut and liver that has less toxins to deal with will be more efficient at eliminating mercury. But a gut and liver overrun with yeast/yeast byproducts/toxins may not. Depending on the person.

Thanks again and sorry for cross posting this in both forums. Per your advice I started 12.5 about 2 hours ago.
Is it placebo, or can this stuff start working this fast? I feel strange, just as bad as I have in the last 7 months but it feels full body and all these strange sensations.
God this sucks.

No worries. I could have just copied and pasted what I had stated without typing it out, but I just had a few other things I wanted to add.
This stuff can work fast. I have had it work within an hour of taking the first dose. Sometimes symptoms may not show up until the next day or so. It differs sometimes. Sometimes the effects increase as the round goes on.
Some effects can be exhaustion, feeling like everything is really heavy. Aching all over, nausea, feeling wretched etc. Even a sense of worse depression, weepy, etc. THe more poisoned you are, the worse they will usually be. Some people feel better on round than off. Others feel worse on round. Sometimes the DMSA can actually help symptoms and make a person feel better. Sometimes it can increase them. It's just hard to say how it will be for each person and how it will be on each round.
I know it sucks, but symptoms are also indicative that something is happening too. So in that way, it maybe a good thing. But it's not fun to go through.

Yeah that's how I see it. After taking this stuff I am 100% positive mercury poisoning is my problem. The bad part is, all I read is about years of recovery. That won't work. I have been like this for 7 months staying in my room, literally can't function anywhere, on any level. I can't consider the possibility of this lasting another 7, really. Would do anything to have my life back.

Would do anything to have my life back. Well keep on following the Cutler protocol if you want your life back. It may take a while, but there is no faster method. Some people get better really fast after removal, most need year(s) of chelation. Did you get your fillings removed by a good dentist who took precautions?

Yes it wasn't a bio dentist but he used a rubber damn, cold water, and suction on the tooth at all times. And I got sick as F$#& after wards even still.

Hi Ziggen,
Taking years does not mean you will feel this bad for all that time. Sometimes the improvements are slow and not always realised at the time. You can improve over time gradually and I certainly did with the Cutler protocol.
So much so, I THOUGHT I was well, but in hindsight, I had not finished chelating mercury at all. I still had symptoms from DMSA and hadn't even started on ALA. Even though I felt well inbetween chelation, and I liked feeling well, so I got lazy with chelation.
Problem is, because I was still obviously poisoned, I was vulnerable and I got infected with a very serious virus/bacteria that has impacted my life tremendously. Worse even than the mercury did, but I'd say it was the presence of so much mercury and a poisoned immunity that I probably got it in the first place.
Chelation should continue even if you start feeling well again. Remaining mercury may cause future problems. You get used to feeling so ill, that when you start feeling better, you can confuse it with being "well", when there maybe significant mercury still present that needs continued chelation. You maybe on your way to becoming well, but may still need to keep chelating AFTER you feel well.
Alpha lipoic acid is the one to do that, after you have reduced body/blood mercury with DMSA first for a few months.
