A lot of you on here have experience with candida and know how to reduce at least although you have heavy metals. I need some help coming up with a really simple candida list of foods. I've asked people here before about what to eat but I wasn't mentally prepared to follow a strict diet. Also, I had a lot of outside stressors going on with my family too.

But right now, after hearing other peoples stories and just being tired of suffering, I know the really overgrown candida bacteria in my gut is keeping me really sick in every way. My anxiety is through the roof and I can't cope with things well. Pacing around crying and stuff like that. I've heard of others doing the same with candida and mine is itching and burning 24 seven so I know it's candida.

So if i have to eat the same things everyday, I will do that to make the candida better.

What I got so far. If it has a ? afterwards, maybe you guys could tell me if I can have it.
Breakfast- Eggs, Regular oatmeal? Turkey bacon? No pork i heard, any cereals with any types of milk like almond milk or? I know I can't have dairy.

Lunch- All meats, brown rice, quinoa, veggies,

Supper- Same- any really simple ideas that are decently appealing?

Snacks- Rice cakes with almond butter? Sunflower Seeds?

If you guys can chime in what you do, I would appreciate it. Mine is really bad so I feel pretty certain I'll have to be strict for a while.

Hope everyone is making improvements and God bless.

Hi Shawn,

With candida, it depends on how bad a person has it, what their immunity is like and how strict they will need to be.

If you do not have to be "as strict" you may get away with only having to give up sugar, wheat/gluten and yeast. You may even be able to continue consuming natural high carbs in the diet. So a looser diet might be able to still include the following high carbs(if you're lucky) limited fruit, potatoes/yam/peas/beans/corn, non wheat/gluten grains. Which will make the diet much less restrictive and the only things to steer clear from is refined sugar, wheat/gluten grains/breads/products and yeast.

So you'd be able to eat fruit (though be careful), non wheat/gluten containing grain/cereals like rice, corn, millet, quiona etc, meat, eggs, vegetables of all kinds, raw nuts (unless you react to any mould, see how you feel, but I wouldn't consume peanuts), sugar free natural acidophilus yoghurt, milk in tea or cereal maybe ok, any animal fats are always good (butter for example), potatoe chips, sugar free carob (as treats) etc.

Unfortunately, you'd be wise to exclude "oatmeal" because oats can contain some gluten. You may WELL be gluten intolerant, because many people suffering from toxicity and candida are and sometimes you can get great improvements from simply excluding sugar, wheat/gluten and yeast. Gluten containing foods are wheat/rye/barley/oats. Steer clear of these in case part of your problem is gluten.

HOWEVER - if you have a more serious condition, severe yeast? You may need to exclude ALL high carb foods - even non wheat/gluten ones.

So your diet may be restricted to consuming eggs, meats/liver/chicken, plain sugar free acidophilus yoghurt, low carb vegetables (e.g. celery, alfalfa, cauliflower, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, garlic, broccoli, silverbeet, brussell sprouts, cabbage etc), raw nuts - almonds/brazil are probably safest. Herbal tea (black tea maybe ok, stay away from coffee).

Stay away from all forms of sugar full stop. Including fruit, high carbs like ALL grains, honey, milk/cream, high carb vegetables like potatoes/corn/peas/beans/carrots/yams etc if you find these also feed your candida. It depends, as I said, on the severity of your condition.

It is up to you how strict you want to go. But whichever way you do it, the worst culprits are sugar, wheat/gluten and yeast. From there, one may have to reduce or exclude high carbs as well. But at the very least, get rid of those completely out of your diet.

It's all dependent on your own condition and how you respond. If you wish to start and try the looser diet? You could give that a go and see if that alone causes a die off and helps your condition. If you find that alone gives you an improvement in health, you will be pretty lucky and still be able to consume potatoes/chips and non wheat/gluten cereals/grain and even some fruit intake and maybe some milk.

But if you find you do not get improvement or enough improvement, you can always go to the much stricter diet.

Cheating on this diet is not wise, since usually it results in one having to start again. It takes sometime before yeast begin to weaken and die off and in doing so, you may feel increasingly hungry, crave the very things the yeast need to survive and you may get detox symptoms and feel unwell. This may go on for a few weeks, but the key is to battle it out and hang in there until improvement of some is noted. Again if the looser diet is not effective, you will need to go onto the stricter one.

I hope this helps Shawn.

I can't do it, when you have Candida your cravings are ALOT worse and it's very hard to do! A double edged sword there, you want to diet but it's TOO hard because your cravings so intense you cave in. I know the diet doesn't get rid of it either, all it does is supress symptoms, if you eat something two years down the road it will come back again really fast and even worse possibly! I disagree on it, I think you knock the Candida down first with GSE, Probiotics, Cayenne, Caprylic Acid, Ensymes and Glutamine, then your cravings will settle down and the diet or a good diet is alot more possible and easy (Sorry Bex this is total opposite of what you do lol). Just my opinion Shawn, if you find the diet too hard to follow at first from cravings look to do just this.

Read this, it's very good read and it worked for her and many others (I am trying it now). The mental part is key for me, the diet is too hard to follow with my cravings from parasites and Yeast, too strong for me to try the diet yet.

In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

Bex I agree on the cravings! If you battled that out you are tough as hell! I have tried it for a day or so and felt horrible, tired and very very cranky! More power to you if it works for you. I know Candida is an after effect of something and to get rid of it you have to take care of that first, mine probably was the inhalers I used for athsma and antibiotic rounds in high school, infact I would bet on just that!

Hi Sean,

Yeah, the first time I went on this diet, I paced the kitchen in tears and was pulling my hair. That's how much of a grip it had on me. But not just candida, but the amount of stored toxins from consuming bad foods like sugar/wheat/gluten products was horrific.

In fact, the symptoms you mention Sean are a strong indication that you are a good candidate for doing the diet. Since usually this is a sign that candida is reducing, toxins are being released back into your system and you are feeling the effects strongly. Strongly enough to where you feel you cannot continue on such a diet. Some say "it doesn't work for me"< simply because they feel so sick after starting it. Yet that is usually a sign it's working. Sadly they often stop soon after starting and abandon it. Yet this is the very thing that could help them feel so much better had they stuck it out. I'm not different from anybody else, but I wanted to feel better.

No, the diet does not just suppress candida. Candida does indeed die off from lack of thriving on bad foods. The immunity also gets a chance to improve. The entire point of getting yeast in balance is restoring immunity. Killing yeast with supplements is a temporary action, but never a solution because if a person continues on the same diet that contributed to yeast overgrowth, they are doing nothing about the foundation. You can indeed cure yeast by diet, but ONLY if the cause of the problem (e.g. mercury/virus) etc has been treated. Then the body can restore function and keep yeast in balance.

The release of toxins after discontinuing such foods was incredible. So not just about reducing candida, the stored toxins erupted forth. I was ill, I stunk, I cried and I had headaches and cravings. The improvements at the end of it was dramatic and worth every bit of intial pain.

So though candida may not have been the root cause, it and other toxins from such foods were suppressing my immunity further, causing me to be suicidal, far more toxic and was not allowing my body to be healthy at all, so doing a diet isn't just for candida, but for the entire body/immunity and makes perfect sense for those reasons alone.

It is not just about finding the root cause, which isn't always easy and maybe a long time in coming, but about building immunity, making ourselves less toxic, reducing excess yeast in the meantime. Regardless of whether we are lucky enough to find, let alone cure the root problem. Either way, being on a healthy diet to my mind is wise regardless!

You do not have to get rid of the root cause to treat candida. Treating candida and a toxic body with the diet is wise in any condition and supportive to a person getting better from whatever the root cause was (be it mercury or somethign else). If a person doesn't know what the root cause is and cannot find the solution to it, the diet should still be helpful.

I'd be surprised if it isn't because it's simply consuming good food and getting rid of foods that make a person more toxic, feed yeast to excess and lower immunity.

Battling it out isn't fun, it isn't easy, but if a person is determined and even desperate, they can do it because the alternative for some of us is far far worse than temporary misery from detoxification, yeast reduction and cravings (which don't last).

If you feed yeast by sugars, and try to kill it off with antifungals and probiotics, you are defeating the purpose and this is not a true anti-candida programme. Most true candida programmes consist of diet, antifungals and probiotics (often in that very order). To feed it and kill it simultaneously is an ongoing process of feeding and die off, feeding and die off. The yeast must be weakened and starved so a person can more readily get rid of it with antifungals. And then implant good bacteria later on.

Bex you can control it by diet if that was your problem I admit, but if you got it from antibioitics or steroids (Inhalers) in the first place then you get the yeast count low enough, take probiotics (Good ones) and heal the leaky gut with Gluatmine than that can go A LONG WAY into curing it, I have read on it and I am going to try it now (A week into it). If you get the Candida down and don't heal that leaky gut alot of the symptoms are still there, the Candida and parasites can cause that leaky gut right? So if you get them down why not supplement Glutamine as well which can heal that in weeks? I am taking it now, good stuff. I got it from antibiotics and steroid inhalers in high school, so I know I have to knock it out and take care of that leaky gut. Is it easy? HECK NO!!!!! I am going to give a whirl though, I will let you know how it goes.

Hi Sean,

Even if the candida wasn't caused by bad diet, improving/changing the diet to treat candida is essential to any yeast protocol. The diet isn't a side issue, but rather the foundation before bringing onboard antifungal agents and probitiotics. I'm unsure how a person can expect to heal their leaky gut, if they still consume sugars and other foods that feed fungus/yeast and encourage toxicity and can keep a leaky gut going....

Whatever caused the candida - it still feeds upon sugars/carbs in the diet. It makes no sense to continue feeding it, whilst attempting to kill it.

I think it's a many fold issue. For me, I tried probitoics recently Sean and it's made my situation worse. I don't know what's happened. Possibly it was die off, but things have gone wrong. My body couldn't handle it and I had to stop. I personally feel it might have been because i was still in the process of healing after a cheat, and should have waited till the yeast was much reduced before using probiotics.

I probably did things the wrong way around. HOwever, since that? I am now having problems with a few foods that I was ok with before. Namely the raw nuts I could still eat and sugar free yoghurt has now appeared to have become a problem. Since probiotic use, after eating them, I now get brain fog, bloating/gas and feel toxic. I thought maybe the yeast has come back even stronger since the extra challenge? I stopped the probitoics, but am dealing with the aftermarth still.

I have glutamine in my multi vitamin/mineral supplement powder. So hopefully that is helping. I may need to get extra perhaps.

The way I've seen it done by doctors dealing in alternative health is usually diet first to cut off the yeasts' food supply. Which causes enough die off naturally. Then once toxins/die off have been reduced, then antifungals can be brought onboard to reduce it further, and later probiotics are used to repopulate the gut.

Those who get bad reactions from doing the diet alone should be alerted that the candida is thriving on the foods you're eating and when you quit their sugar supply, they start to weaken and die off. So the fact you got those reactions, may indicate how important the diet is and without it, you could be going in a circle. Antifungals cannot work so well in isolation and require dietry support. Probiotics may not be able to efficiently repopulate, when a person continues on a candida friendly diet.

In my experience with candida, I had to finally admit that the diet was necessary, as much as I was in denial - nobody likes to feel detox/die off symptoms or cravings, but that shows how necessary it is. In fact, in the end, the diet was the most effective and reliable, antifungals were supplementary and often too harsh. So diet at the very least is the first and most important first step.

I don't take antifungals per se, I take Cayenne which cleans the blood and improves blood flow to the body, that essentially can kill Candida and Parasites. Probiotics make you worse? Maybe die off, sometimes I get alot worse at first and then a week or so later start to feel alot better, when I first started all of this I felt cruddy and Candida got worse and I got rashes under my arm (Itchy), but a week into it I am starting to scratch the surface! I am starting to feel some results. Glutamine is essential if you have Candida, it heals the gut and other things which Candida causes, read up more on that Bex! I agree the diet is kid, if not that diet you are on a good diet atleast, some can handle things others can't (I can handle fruits and so on it seems you can't). Some need the diet moreso than others, I don't really need it and don't get erruptions of Candida per se unless I eat alot of sphagetti and bread and beer, then I get bad symptoms, otherwise foods don't effect me too much to really scare me. I know it has to be starved and killed off, but all of these together (Gluatamine, Cayenne, Enzymes, Proiotics) should all go into the program of killing off the yeast and healing yourself, if not Cayenne use Caprylic Acid or Olive Leaf, both VERY GOOD at helping eliminate this beast. I know Glutamine is supposed to literally TAKE away the cravings you have for sugar, so that might help me get on track some. Diet is always important and anyone knows that, I don't know if I could be as strict as you are, but there is always room for vast improvement.
