I'm not a young Earth creationist. In fact, my creation account (which you are responding to) was written for the purpose of explaining why.

I base my life on the research that I have done over the past 20 years. It's that important to me.
What I have discovered in this world is that the majority of people just accept what feels good to them. This is the difference between a Christian and a non-Christan.
As a Christian, I am subject to truth and I am compelled to tell it. I am accountable to God.
For those without any accountability, there is no need to tell the truth. In their minds, their life is all about their own experience: Physical pleasures and fantasy. It's all about "them".
There is a vast difference between selfishness and selflessness.
My beliefs are firmly supported by evidence, as should be all beliefs.
