Hi all, I aplogize for taking a repreive from this forum but I havn't been a good girl lately. I supose the stress took its toll on me and I succumed to many temptations. Started with dabbling with green tea w/ aspartane (Lipton), then some periodic coffee, the sugar and it all escalated and finally I totally blew it and even began drinking some (mostly wine) . And Oh my gosh! Am I a dummy or what? Man, it sooooo polutes my body and mind but then my flesh just wants more even though I know its destructive! My flesh is stupid!!! Then I keep telling myself, don't even try stopping until Xmas is over, you cant do it. Well now Im feeling so poorly about myself its effecting everything including my husband. Gained 12 lbs in 6 weeks. Sugar is POISON!!!! Candida has taken over and it looks like Im pregnant cuz of the bloating.
I read some recent posts and was delighted to read that Linda Lou suggested we pray for eachother! Awsome idea! Maybe we should just put our name on a list if we decide we want to be prayed for and pray for the others on the lists! Prayer is incredibly powerful especially when coupled with fasting which I feel I am being led to do very soon. Anyway glad to see that you all are Ok and still supporting eachother! We need eachother!!! Blessings to all, Diane

Welcome back Diane. I know what you mean about the temptations. It's especially hard around Christmas. Unfortunately, it takes very little caffeine or sugar to throw most people over the edge. It's hard.
You're so right: Sugar is poison. And so are many other things we're surrounded by today.
Take care and have a good Christmas.

Hi Diane,
I've been there too. I did the same last year and made a total mess of everything. I cheated and I cheated big and I had to start from scratch. No point feeling guilty, just get back on track as soon as you can - it happens to us all.
Yes sugar is poison, alcohol is poison and for me, coffee and high carbs are also poison. I cannot have any of these things and I don't know how many times I messed up to finally get it into my head to STOP. it is never worth the momentary/temporary pleasures of these things, only to endure long term consequences and misery. They taste good yeah - at the time, but boy do they leave their mark. I'd rather feel better/happier/healthier and deprive myself of giving into temptation, than the alternative. But that does not mean I am immune to falling off the wagon. I have and do.
I did not cheat so far this Xmas and do not intend to. My well being is far more important to me now, i just cannot handle anymore weeks and weeks of misery just to feel more...human.
No guilt Diane, you're just human. Sometimes we have to get hurt a few times and take a few knocks before we finally realise that giving into temptation is not worth the long aftermarth. You know what to do about it, nobody can do it for you (as nobody can for me). So just get back on the wagon and stay strong and the cravings will eventually fade and you'll handle the diet much better. However, it does take time before they go, as when yeast start to die off, you can start to crave the very foods that it thrives on.
Prayer is wonderful and not just for health reasons (soul) - but we need to also help ourselves healthwise and we know what to do about these problems, even if it's just an improvement rather than a cure, it's still worth doing it. I have to do it. God expects me to do all I can under the circumstances and the rest is up to Him.
Take care Diane and you will improve again once you get back on track and stick to the programme. It's just a sad reality that so many of us are just too weak and vulnerable to be able to indulge like those in more normal health. Candida is an opportunistic in any situation like this and will readily thrive and take over, any chance it gets.

Thank you Russ and Bex! Its so good to know someones out there that understands and is supportive. You both are on my prayer list and several others. Its amazing to know that all it takes is "just a little" to open to door to total destruction! Lord help me and all of us on this forum STRENGHTH! Have a super Merry Christmas and may we remember the reason for this season! Diane

Hi Diane I just wanted to say I am having a rough time with all the sugar in my face too right now. I decided to make some goodys for Christmas but I am going with all my natural stuff(gingerbread, pumpkin bread etc...)the reason why is because Thanksgiving I really did indulge and payed dearly for it so I am making me something special and all the rest of the family can make their own choice whether they want the sugary stuff or my goodys! LOL Hang in there and don't give up. If you fall down and skin your knee you pick yourself up and clean it off and keep on going...do the same with living natural...today is a new day, all fresh and new so don't ever give up! Hang in there and Merry Christmas.

Gingerbread and pumpkin bread; That is tempting. Hang in there and if you have some sweets, follow it up with some oregano and garlic. That will help control the consequences. What I use is a supplement named Yeast Fungal Detox. When I take it after eating some sweets, I have very little reaction to the sweets. In other words, it enables me to cheat.
