Even if this retreating artificial distinction had merit What's artificial about distinguishing between evolution, cosmology and, say, botany? How is any of that contrived? If it falls under a certain cagetory it falls under a certain category. Regrettably, CTD does not get to decide on the definitions for various fields of science - the professionals in their appropriate fields do. Though this may be a moot point because I just learned in my previous post that CTD neither a) acknowledges the existing definitions for scientific words nor does he b) supply his own alternative definition for them. can the atheist reasonably posit life directly from utterly nothing? Atheism is the disbelief in a god or pantheon of gods. It says nothing about the origin of life. You're trying to force categories together that don't fit. I am suddenly reminded of that old Sesame street song, "One of these things is not like the other". I should like very much to see it. I don't put it past 'em for a minute, but I like a good laugh. Thanks for keeping my legs unshaven with yet another holier than thou attack at the poster rather than the topic.
