Blessings to you Dear Bex!

Yes, this is, indeed, a very frightening time for the United States of America!

I feel like putting on sackcloth and sprinkling ashes on my head, as they did in the Old Testament when evil was recognized! So many of us Americans are very saddened over this new, soon-to-be, President -Barack Obama.

I quote from Isaiah 5:20 "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Blessings to you also Abishag.

Yes it is a frightening time. Perhaps through such, God will use this to chastise the nation/s. What a pity people have chosen him for their leader. What does that tell you about society on a whole? Thank God for the steadfast faithful, who through their sufferings/sacrifices (united with Christ) and their prayers, could be holding/delaying the inevitable. God's justice.

I agree with you about the sackcloth and ashes statement:

Luke 13:3
No, I say to you: but unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish.

What have we done??! We have elected a new President that plans to 'make a lot of changes', 'peace',etc, .....

"Woe unto them that call peace when there is no peace." We will only find peace when our Lord Jesus comes and takes His church, 'His people', out of here. Jesus is the Prince of peace!

Well, we could all very well suffer the consequences of electing somebody to lead the nation into accepting and making legal atrocities that God Himself has condemned....

it's interesting that the man of perdition will come as a "peace maker" - fooling many.

I just read on the Yahoo homepage that the great Evangelist Billy Graham, now 90 years old, is a registered Democrat and has always met with, and prayed for our new Presidents. As the article goes on to say, 'his health does not permit that at this time'. ALSO 'Mr. Graham DOES NOT agree with Obama's views on abortion and gay marriage!' Thank the LORD!

Very glad to hear it! I'd be surprised if he was pro the very things that God is against. He's been a warrior for Christ, a fearless preacher and someone I have admired for a long time. This man is an inspiration and one of my favourite preachers. The kind of guy who does not preach a prosperity gospel, but instead he preaches the cross - the truth. He speaks about sin. He doesn't tickle the ears of the listeners. He does not prance up an down a stage clad in fine clothes and jewellery with sparkling white teeth yelling and screaming and hyping up the audience into a frenzy for sheer entertainment value or for self ego purposes. He stands behind a plain podium in a suit and preaches the word exactly as it is. Those are the kinds of evangelists we need! Not only do they preach the hope of the second coming of Christ and the ressurection, but they are unafraid to preach about sin and Hell.

It is my personal opinion (and other pastors ,Christians), that we ALREADY are living in the End Times.

Of course we read about the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, Post-Tribulation, and Mid-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. Well, whatever it is , and whenever it is, I pray we are ready to meet the Lord in the air when He comes!

Matthew 24:44 Jesus is speaking, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." (KJV)

Yes, I too am uncertain about the timing of the rapture, but I have no doubts about it. And it could happen anytime and we must be ready.

I'm sure many won't agree with this, but I still must inform those of us who are Christians and await the return of our Saviour, King Jesus. He IS coming back, and "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Him to be Lord."...even the UNbelievers. But it will be too late for them.(Phil 2:10-11).

This is so very very sad. Thank you, Bex for all the articles you collect, copy and paste, and the words you type here on this Message Board. You are a bright light in a dark corner to many people, myself included, for sure! God bless you, dear friend.

Yes, we await this time in hope. It was said that in the last days would come scoffers! If ever there was a time where people scoffed at such talk and faith, it's now. Expect more of the same.

3:2-3 Be the more mindful thereof, because ye know scoffers will come first - Before the Lord comes. Walking after their own evil desires - Here is the origin of the error, the root of libertinism. Do we not see this eminently fulfilled?

Thank you too Abishag! Your posts have been an inspiration! It's nice to share this with like-minded souls.
