I'm not going to respond to your post, Tom, because it is very confrontational and hostile. There are those of us here who base our lives and our beliefs on the Bible, therefore it shapes what we think. The God of the Bible allows the eating of meat and leaves it up to individuals whether they do or don't. I think what is debated in Christian circles is whether meat-eating was in God's oiginal plan for humans before the fall. That, of course, is of no interest to atheists.

Hi Demi,

But you just did respond to my post.

That's too bad you perceive it as hostile, though it's not an uncommon reaction. Lots of people get defensive when their beliefs are questioned. I, on the other hand, welcome all viewpoints (assuming they are presented in a civil manner), as beliefs are less important to me than the truth. Often times I end up changing my viewpoint, when the new information is founded in reason.

Dogma of any flavor, by it's very nature, is not very flexible, however, as is obvious from your statement about not wanting to hear opposing viewpoints. Hey, to each his own.

Take care, and good health.

Tom (not an atheist . . . not that there's anything wrong with that). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
