Dallas, it sounds from your description as if it might be me, Carla, who is trying to "stir up dissension", that I am "offering judgment on those who think differently".
Yer darn tootin' I am, and thank you for noticing. (At least I hope it's me you were referring to!)
Conflict, mine or others', is not an "issue" for me. The members of this forum could go at it tooth & nail, on some other topic, and it might actually do me some good to be exposed to it. As long as you don't call anyone names, what's the problem.
Yes, our Creator certainly allowed for the consumption of meat, but did not force it. Good points. And some people are not suited to meat eating, and others are not suited to avoiding meat.
Our Creator also allowed for personal spiritual and psychological development that makes it impossible for some of us to keep quiet about deliberate animal killing, which we see as repulsive & cruel. If it takes a bit of edgy public debate to get people to see aspects of animal killing that they had not previously considered, then count me in. Actually, I guess I already counted myself in. And if my opponent thinks I am full of boloney, let him say it, too.
I think we should leave it up to the administrator/moderator to decide if he wants Sweet 'n' Nice or if he can tolerate a certain amount of discord. After all, he is owner & boss. I can handle being banned. I already got booted out of an animal rights forum for getting involved, on the prolife side, in an abortion thread started by someone else. It was Pro Abortion - 500; Anti Abortion - 1.
Animals feel pain & suffering just as we do, and they value their lives as much as we value ours.
