You have raised alot of straw man arguments; so I'm not going to address things that I never said. It's really unclear to me what you are trying to argue.
The bottom line to me is that you proposed that killing animals is wrong, but you haven't laid out any coherent arguments as to why that is true. If that is not your argument, then what is it?
I have simply countered with example of how vegetarians kill too, and you acknowledge that. But I don't understand why your killing is ok, and mine is not.
Of course I don't butcher my own bison and cows, but I have been to a slaughterhouse. It is not a pretty picture, as you might imagine. But there are obvious reasons why it is impractical for me and others to witness the slaughtering of our food. It's simply not feasible in our current system of food production. I truly believe that we ought to be more aware of the consequences of our eating decisions, and under our current system, we are far removed from the impacts for our actions. This is not a good thing.
But this is certainly true for vegetarians as well. Have you been to the corn and wheat fields where the countless squirrels, birds, snakes etc. are mutilated to produce your pita bread? The reasons you have not are probably the same reasons I and other meat eaters do not.
Is all of the food you buy organic? If not, do you visit the various waterways that are polluted by the chemicals that run off from the corn fields? Have you been to Iraq to witness the death and squalor that is caused by our need for petroleum to fuel our modern agricultural system? Neither have I, of course, for obvious reasons.
You are as distant from the effects of your eating decisions than I am -- maybe more. Such is modern life. This may not be a pleasant truth, but it is the truth nonetheless -- all we can do is make the best choices we can given that reality.
So please explain to me a) why killing animals is wrong or b) under what circumstances is it ok to kill, and why under those circumstances, but not under others. Then we'll have something to go on.
