I won't resort to something I totally don't believe in just because it is the opinion of one expert that it is necessary. I don't blindly trust anyone that much, certainly not when thorough research has not been done on the subject. No disrespect to Huggins intended.

Since CMP is generally not accepted by the mainstream medical community, it's not likely you will see any scienftic studies exploring such issues. Who is going to fund the study about animal vs. plant sources of protein in mercury poisoned individuals. Not gonna happen.

As a result, you are left to experiment for yourself.

I think you'll find that nearly everyone recommends a high protein diet. The unkown factor is what is so special about animal sources of protein vs. other sources. But again, because it has not been verified through some study, that does not make it untrue. Of course, it doesn't make it true either.

I don't believe in blindly believing anyone either. That's why I chose to experiment personally. There is no substitute for direct, 1st hand experience. I'll believe my own experience over some study any day. I'm glad I did -- boy do I feel much better as a result.

I have talked to many others who have had identical experiences to mine, incidentally. Although I'm certainly not suggesting that what works for us will work for everyone.

Best of luck.
