I'm not recommending this to anyone, but I just want to tell my story while on a salt-free diet.
I went on a completely salt free diet about 2 years ago.(I'm no longer on this diet). This was before I knew about mercury toxicity, adrenal fatigue or diabetes insipidus. I hate to say this, but I felt absolutely wonderful. This was the best I had felt in 5 years. The first few things I noticed right away was that the puffiness in my face, arms and legs vanished. I lost about 10 lbs worth of water weight that was stuck on my body. To this day I'm not sure why I was soooo puffy. My body still has the tendency to hold onto unnecessary water in weird places (baggy eyes), but all the while still being in a dehydrated state.
I also saw the chronic UTI's go away. Salt irritated my bladder REALLY bad. If I ate salt, I'd pay for it later that night. Now I'm definitely doing better and salt doesn't have such a negative effect on me like it used to. I'm not sure what has changed!
Like I said though. I don't really recommend going salt-free.
