I Capture the Castle (2003)
Laura and I have gotten into the habit of choosing a couple of movies a week and taking a little break from life.
Each week, we choose an unknown movie and see if we can find gems among the pile of garbage that Hollywood produces.
I consider this one a gem. It's like Wuthering Heights with a softer edge.
An English love story of wrong intentions and lessons learned, it's long but keeps you engaged throughout.
Early on, it's easy to wonder where the story is going and on several occasions, pushes a button that makes you wonder it it's going to fall on it's face, but it doesn't. It actually gets better as it goes on and has, what I consider, a good ending.
I don't want to spoil the story, because with this one, the story is everything, but I will say that it's real enough to leave you with something; A feeling that lasts a while.
If you like English love stories and hard reality, this just may be for you.
