Hi Russ,
I have been having issues with the forum for sometime. I have only just decided to post about it and wondering if anybody else is experiencing the same. Today I just got fed up with it.
Everytime I am using the forum, at some point my requests (e.g. clicking on a post, or clicking out of the forum etc) become non responsive (nothing happens). It can also occur after I have typed up a post and click the "submit" button, it will telling me it's already submitting and nothing will happen. This plus non response to clicking on forums or posts means I am continually clicking out of the forums altogether and having to start from scratch so my requests will get through. This is everyday and it's been going on for a long time now.
Is anybody else experiencing this? IF not, then perhaps the issue is with my computer. However, my brother's (who has broadband) computer also seems to have some issues loading the forum sometimes and I've often given up bothering. Though mine will eventually load the herballure forum, the other problems continually occur and eventually I have to click out of it and start again. I am lucky I copy and paste my post before I send it, because often it won't send at all and I have to click out of it all and start from scratch and paste my response back up again.
Sorry for the complaints Russ, I just don't understand why these things are happening. It gets frustrating.

OK, I'd like to diagnose this.
If you don't mind, please make a list of the next several times this happens. Please include:
- The time it happened (and your time zone).
- The link you clicked just before it happened (for example: "Edit" a post, "Quick Reply", "Who's Online", "Forum List", the name of a forum...to enter it, etc.)
And please send this to me. I really appreciate it as it would be a great help in diagnosing.
The one problem I am currently aware of is this: When you go to make a new post or reply, it takes quite a while for the page to load. I know this is because there are so many graemlins and I have considered removing some of them.
Do you have a delay with that page as well?
Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the response Russ. Yeah, I know about the download times and the emoticons etc and that's not what the problem is.
This is complete non response, not even 'slow', there is nothing. This happens when I've been on the forum for a little while. It starts off ok, and then for some reason it starts doing this and I have to click out of herballure and then come back in and I'm ok again for a time.
Whether it's to do with accummulation or something, I'm not sure. E.g. going from one post to another and back, or from one forum to another. Not sure, but I'll do my best to report when and where's/hows next time it occurs.
I wonder too if it is happening to anybody else here? because if not, I think the issue probably lies with my computer.

What browser are you using?
I have that issue with Firefox when it's been working for a while. Then, when I restart the browser, it's fine but slowly gets worse.
The cause (I've read the synopsis) is memory leaks and on Windows 2000 (I don't know about XP, but not on Vista) there seems to be threading issues.
What this comes down to is that a lot of stuff accumulates in memory managed by the browser and it slowly degrades performance until it's restarted. I believe an upcoming release solves much of this.
So, what browser is it?

Hi Bex, ((( Smiles )))
Yes. Yes.. Now I understand as I read your post above. That has been happening to me for awhile now and then I lose connectivity to the web, to this board. And I do a computer check and it says I'm connected to the web.
I get the non response on this board. And I click on preview and it comes up but there is nothing in the preview box.. so I try to submit and something comes up saying I allready submitted and then the forum is non responsive.. and then I have to leave the forum and try to enter back on till it works again.
That has been happening to me for a few weeks now. It happened to me just alittle while ago while I was trying to post. It would not let me and I could not get back to the main forum. I didn't see what you saw Bex on that thread but I know about this happening. Russ.. What could it be??? This non conductivity problem started first on this board for me. It started here.. Now the board freezes up on me.
Does this sound like whats been happened to you too Bex??? Glad you brought this up.

Hi Lynn, Yes, that is exactly what happens to me. I am glad I am not alone in this. Even my brother's computer and the fact he has broadband and up-to-date software, also has issues with the herballure forum (not always). Sometimes it will just load halfway and that's it. Thanks for letting me know Lynn. Russ, I have windows 2000 and I use internet explorer. But again my brother has all the up-to-date stuff and even his computer has a few issues with your forum.... I think you're right though, I reckon it's accummulative - from going from one forum to another and post to post, where eventually it just mounts up and stops responding and won't load anything and I have to click out of everything and come back in. This only ever started since you altered your forum months ago.....this never used to be an issue if I recall. I still come on here and will continue to do so regardless. It's frustrating, but at least I can still get on and read and post

Hi Bex, ((( Smiles )))
So that's what happens to you too. I have broadband as well. Sometimes it works fine here no problem and then all of a sudden it loses connectivity and I've lost the board.. and have a hard time getting back on. Or it freezes up and I can't submit a post. It just doesn't work so I try to just get out of that thread back to the forum but it's stuck there.. it won't work so I get off of the site and see if I could come back on by going to my home page then back. And sometimes that works.
But thats what happens to me too.. It stops responding and won't load anything and I have too click out of everything and come back on. Or sometimes I just lose connectivity but I run a check and it says I'm connected to the web.
But if it means anything and I don't know if it does. But thats not happening to me on any other message board. Just here..
How about you Bex?? Does this happen to you anywhere else? Or did it start out here??
If it can't be fixed as long as it doesn't get worse depending on what is causeing it as it's a new thing to me. Only a few weeks worth.
Sorry Bex, I just didn't understand what you meant because I didn't see what you saw on that thread at that time.. I thought maybe it was too many pictures to download as Russ deleted some and your computer was just haveing problems with that.
Because it comes and goes like your brother said. also has issues with the herballure forum (not always). And so I didn't see it..

Hi Lynn, I don't have broadband myself, I have dial-up and the problem happens on my computer and my brother's (who has broadband). So I assume there is an issue with the new format somehow? I have one other issue also. My msn hotmail account, which annoys the heck out of me. This never used to happen. Yet I now find that often it won't respond to me clicking on emails. So I have to then refresh the page and wait until everything loads again and then try again by clicking on someone's email and seeing if it'll respond so I can read it. Sometimes I have to refresh a few times and wait till it all loads properly before anything I click my mouse on will actually respond and I can then read the email and reply to it. A few other oddities too on hotmail that I've noticed occuring that never used to be there. Hard to explain, but EXTREMELY irritating. Just glad I also have another email account! So I am honestly not certain what is going on. But this forum and hotmail are the only two places I've noticed this problem occuring. Except with Russ', I have to actually click out of the entire site. Refreshing the page doesn't tend to work! PS no problems for the misunderstanding But that wasn't related to this problem here. The one on that particular thread was just odd. The layout of it was distorted somehow. Russ fixed it though!

Hi Bex, ((( Smiles )))
Thanks.. I didn't see the distortion on that thread but the connectivity problem started happening recently, while I was doing software scans too. And then it got stuck and I can't finnish. It was a few days ago. It could not connect to update while scanning and I had to connect to update first before I could scan. Then it started working well again. Now it updates and scans again. I mean it works but it see's nothing there. I update daily. It's just here and then that. Like the forum and your hotmail. That's very strange. Yes.. Hard to explain what could it be???

OK, it's probably that someone has been sending tens-of-thousands of emails to our server and been loading it down some. This has only been going on the past few weeks.
I conferenced with our administrator tonight and we implemented some solutions that should make the problem a little better now.
I am going to be implementing an additional barrier that should make it work even better, but this will take a few days.
If it continues past Sunday, please let me know.
Thanks!

Russ, have you anyway of figuring out who/where the emails are coming from? Why would anybody bother to do that? Could it be the information contained on your forums that bother them....? Or is this what happens to anybody who runs a forum and it's almost a standard practise?
I do hope that whatever you guys have implemented will work. I enjoy this forum and I'm here everyday if I can be.
Cheers and thanks Russ for all you do.

Thanks and cheers to you too! A couple months ago, I began helping someone get their domain name back from a web designer who had wrongly (fraudulently?) registered it in their own name instead of the name of the client they were working for. His name is Mike Corrales, and he founded a web design/hosting company named First Web Media. This company has a fake "suite" from "Rent-A-Mailing-Address" and has an 800 number listed on their website that has long been disconnected. http://www.linkedin.com/in/mikecorraleshttp://www.crunchbase.com/person/mike-corraleshttp://firstwebmedia.comRent-A-Mailing-Address https://www.mailnetwork.com/cgi-bin/orderone.cgi?action=gola&goodcitykey=200Google Search for 1050 Bishop StreetWe originally politely contacted Corrales for weeks. After we realized that he was not willing to cooperate (something that would cost him nothing to do except literally 2 minutes of his time), we continued by seeking remedy from the registrar (SRS Plus), but it was in vain. They were completely unwilling to help at all. With no options left, we finally threatened to sue Corrales and report him to the State Attorney of California, the state in which he lives. Within two days after we made this legal threat against him, email accounts on our server were signed up for every possible spam house you can imagine. Our server has been flooded with mailing lists, spam, backscatter, bounces, false bounces and everything else ever since. It's secure and protected, but it sure has been busy. Of course, this does not definitely mean Corrales did this, but it sure looks suspicious, especially considering that this kind of thing has never happened before. The woman I was attempting to help has worked tirelessly building a successful business on her domain name for several years and is now completely unable to get the name back from Mike, even though she paid for it. She is unwilling at this time (although on the fence) to put the time and money forward to follow through with the lawsuit and filing reports. She is being forced to change all her literature and re-market her business with an entirely new domain name and email addresses. She is very upset about the losses she has suffered as a result. When I spoke to SRS Plus (the registrar who has the power AND authority to EASILY correct this situation), they said they were unwilling to do anything about this situation because they were concerned about their contract with their client Mike. I clearly and politely explained to them how Mike had wrongly taken the domain name that was paid for by someone else into his custody and would not release it. They simply don't seem to want to be bothered with doing what's right. For this reason, I hope anyone considering doing business with SRS Plus will carefully consider using another company, such as GoDaddy, which seems to have better policies and a better record of moral behavior in these types of situations. Mike Corrales is also associated with Greenest Host: http://www.greenesthost.com/He is the founder and CEO: http://www.greenesthost.com/team.phpAll I can say is I hope people who use this company to host their websites make sure the domain names they pay for are correctly registered in their own names so they can be sure they don't lose it like my friend lost hers. Or better yet, don't use Greenest Host at all. Use GoDaddy or someone else. Sorry this is so long. I just think it's important to get the truth about these things out to protect people against this kind of injustice. It makes me sick seeing people like this market themselves as wonderful—"caring for the environment"—type people when they obviously don't give a darn about their own customers (once they have their money).

Well, this is sickening and it's the kind of thing that can really start eroding ones trust in people (if it weren't for the good). I have experienced or heard similar behaviours from those who were in a position of trust (and seemed "good") suddenly turn around and do something so deceptive. People like this to my mind are worse than petty thieves. They have a veneer of goodness and are very good at what they do (deceiving genuine people). There are apparently even some evangelists that have also fallen into the money corruption trap and use all means of manipulating their Christian audience to gain more money out of them. It's those types of people that tend to give the rest who are doing good, a bad name. Very sad. Well Russ, it's HIGHLY possible/probable that this guy is involved with the excess emailing. I think it's just a bit too coincidental don't you? Interestingly enough Russ, after I exposed a certain individual for dubious practices over the internet, I found problems occuring with my computer and someone else at the sametime also exposing them, had a few things occur also. I still don't know if they were involved, but it does make you wonder. When I took the computer in to get fixed, the computer tech had big problems getting things back up and running. He found is very strange. I'm not sure if this individual even has the means to perform such a thing, but I suspected it might be possible OR they may know people who can So I have a better virus scanner than before and a firewall up, and hopefully that will not happen again! Whatever is happening Russ, you can be sure someone is probably onto you and this is certainly deliberate. Amazing what happens when you try to fight evil. There is always a back-lash. They hate being exposed for what they do and will hit back any chance they get.

So true. It's bad enough when someone does evil things. It's another thing when they try to project a shiny, polished image. This guy could have literally given this domain back to the owner with 2 minutes of his time, but he would not. The funny thing is that it has more to do with pride and a power kick than anything else because he's not currently profiting from the domain name, although it's a good name that he could resell in the future. Perhaps that's what he has in mind. I cannot stand people like this. For those reading this thread, remember to avoidGreenest Host http://www.greenesthost.comand First Web Media http://firstwebmedia.comfor unethical business practices.

Hi Russ, ((( Smiles )))
Overloading your system with E-mails.. So thats what was most likely causeing the forum to freeze up or lose connection and causeing those kinds of problems on this site. In the past few weeks. An overload. So that would effect Bex's hotmail too? And my update and scanning eventually? Though better now. Did it cause a memory leak?? Just sucked out memory from our computers by connecting to this network??
Thats is disturbing someone doing something like that.. And yes..
I am going to be implementing an additional barrier that should make it work even better, but this will take a few days. It's secure and protected. Good, just in case he trys to pull something else.
Sorry to hear about that. But there are some companys out there like that. They should be exposed for what they do. Because alot of them do get away with it and then they just change there companys name and continue on. Doing the same thing to others again. Because the system lets them do it.
Thats awfull. It makes more work for you too.

Yes, it's too bad people do these kinds of things.
The activity on our system would not affect any other part of your computer. It would only affect you using our website or forum.
Basically, our system is so busy handling/scanning/rejecting spam email at times, that it has to make the forum wait at time.
Fortunately, there is a way to put a big limit on the incoming spam and I am going to implement it over the next week or so. This should cause things to work better.

Appreciate it Russ. But don't put too much pressure on yourself to do this A.S.A.P We're aware you're suffering with toxic exposure also and any additional stress when you have that to contend with can tip a person over.
Just remember, we can still get on here and though it's frustrating that problem occurs, it's not absolutely major. Your health comes first.
Take it easy and just do things at your own pace when you can.

Hi Russ,
Unfortunately the problems continue and I have had to click out of the entire forum many times and start afresh. Renewing the page doesn't respond either. I have to cancel and re-enter the forum from scratch.
I know this is frustrating for you also. If it were not for Lynn, I would say the fault lies with my own computer or whatever is on there. But the fact she mentioned the same, got me thinking something else must be up.
Looks like nobody else has complained though? Which makes me wonder if it's just mainly me and Lynn. Surely if others were experiencing this, they'd have told you?

Hi Russ, (( Smiles ))
Could a firewall cause a connection problem? Not on this board but on the update and scanning. I just got a new firewall and I just looked inside of it and it looks like what I was haveing that connection problem with is on filtering and that might be it.
But as I've mostly been off this weekend... I haven't really had the connection/freezing up problem as of yet. Bex says though the problem continues.. I will let you know if I notice it again as it was an on and off thing. Like how Bex described it.
Is it still happening Bex.. ((( Smiles ))) Let me know and I'll watch out for it too.

Thanks for the info.
Do the problems occur primarily between 6am (et) and 7am?
If so, that is the time that the database is backed up and that locks the system (for security) until the backup is complete.
If so, I can reschedule the backups to be earlier. That would be good for some people outside the U.S. as well.

Russ, it is still happening as badly as ever. Right now I am stuck on page 2 on this thread typing this. I first went to page 3 to check the newest post, then to page 2 to catch up and now I cannot get onto page 3 again. I click but nothing happens, not even signs anything is starting to load.
yesterday was also very bad. Russ, I honestly can't tell if the problem lies with your forum, or something else is up. Since there are issues on my hotmail account too. I also noticed the other day, I was surfing the net and then I clicked up on my favourites list to get onto herballure from there and it wouldn't respond.
So is it the net? My computer? Your forum? My firewall?
It doesn't seem to matter what time of day it is, morning, noon, night.
I actually clicked the submit button after I typed the above and nothing happened. So I was in the process of copying and pasting it to close out of the window and come back into herballure and for some reason it suddenly started to load.
I also note down the bottom of the screen where the words are that show what's happening and a bar where it loads, there there is this small icon that looks like a yellow triangle type shape with a black explanation mark inside of it. I also see "error on page" or "loaded, but with errors". Sometimes I see the words "javascript" and I see that often when I'm trying to load a page and it's not working. (this goes for hotmail also).
I find the whole thing odd. I am wondering if this is honestly only happening to a few of us?

Hi Bex, ((( Smiles )))
Oh no .. I just got this message when I started my computer.. The advance feature of your synaptics touchpad has been disabled. Because it detected another pointer device plugged into my computer. What does that mean??? I've never ever seen that message before.. I have not surfed the web lately I've mostly been off.. Only here and the H board.. Plus I unplug my computer and disconnect it everynight. Plus when I try to submit on this board it tells me I've allready submitted so it's disabled.. Though most of the time it works just fine.. I sweep my computer and update every day I see nothing there.. Yes the yellow triangle with the black explanation mark. On this board I see it too on this forum with the submit disabled thing..
Russ??? What do you think it is?? Can you help us... We need help. Sorry to bother you but... What do you think it is?? Bex.. Have you seen the synaptics message yet?? I just saw it when I booted my computer up..
What do we do Russ?? Thanks Lynn

Hi Bex,((( Smiles ))
It's not stuck as the pages and forum is working well for me. Lately.. It's just the submit and preview at times.. And the message I got and the error thing I've seen that before. And the yellow triangle thing.. This has all been of recent and it started first on this board. Freezing up and the connection problem and spread to my sweeper but it hasen't happened on the H board at all... Just here..
I just don't know what it all means?? Why doesn't it happen on the other message board I'm on.. Only here??
It's odd like you say Bex..

First, There's no need to worry about the yellow triangle that reports errors on the page. I'll save you the explanation, but that's not a problem. About the touchpad, it just sounds like some features of the page have been disabled for some reason. Probably just some conflict between devices, or it may just be a warning for convenience, that is, to remind you to turn on the "advanced" features before you try to do anything complicated. About the forum... I'm still not sure what happening for you. Our machine and software was just tuned and is running better and faster then it has in years. It must be something else. My first guess would be that a lot of memory is being used on your computer when you come to this forum because some of the pages are big. Here's how we can tell... Does the hard drive (the light on the front of the computer that tells you the hard drive is working) turn on and stay on most of the time when this delay is happening? Also, click the Start button, then click control panel, then click the "system" icon. How much memory ("KB RAM") does your computer have? I also use Win 2000 but I normally use Firefox, but I have tested the forum (just now) with IE and it works fine. You probably have version 6. Second guess: It could be some page scanning software related to anti-virus on your computer that is preventing the page from working correctly. Here's how we can tell.... First, what browser version are you using. To find this out, click HELP, then ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER. This will tell you the version number. If I were you, I would be using Firefox as your browser. It's much more secure than IE 6. It also has more features. Here is where you download it: http://firefox.comIt may also fix the problem, if the problem has to do with IE or some kind of spyware that's been tied into IE. I'll keep an eye on this thread and we'll see if we can get it worked out.

Hi Russ, ((( Smiles )))
I have Windows XP on a Gateway laptop and I had the Geek Squad program it for me long time back. My sweeper does not detect any spyware or malware and my new firewall is working really really well maybe too good I got to figure this out??
I had to turn off the displaying alert it was driveing me to distraction.. Packet filter packet block. Whats TCP (6) pack it keeps wanting to come through.... And whats a UDP (17) that too.. Does that have to do with IE 6??
I see the power on light.. The plug light.. a ((*)) light and a blinking can looking thing.. I have the computer manual somewhere. To see what that blinking light means it may be battery. First I'm going to go look in thoses areas to see what it says.
Thanks Lynn

The numbers in parens may be PORT numbers.
TCP and UDP are internet protocols.
The preview (and possibly submit) button(s) are driven by a web-language called javascript. It's possible that you have javascript disabled or partly filtered by your software.

Oh no, ((( Smiles )))
How do I know if it's good or not or if I should let it through. I need a computer book on computer lingo and address's.. It has the address but not attached to a house. Does me no good.. Things are being partly filtered I've allready looked into that but this is blocked and it keeps trying to come through filling up the log. How do I do an address check?? Maybe I should phone the firewall people. My sister has checked my computer a few times she graduated from computer school. But she works alot now days I wonder if she would know?? And how would she know ?? maybe I should just unblock it.. Would that be safe?? Javascript disabled so TCP (6) or UDP (17) may be javascript. Hummm... See this is a brand new firewall and this time I did it.. She did the other one for me. And the Geeksquad before that.
Got to think about this first..
Thanks Lynn

I would not unblock anything just yet. We would need to know exactly what it is first.
If you can selectively unblock javascript from just this domain (herballure.com) then that would be OK, but not from all sites.
Do you connect to the internet through a router? Or does your computer just connect directly to the Internet?

Since the computer seems to be working .. I don't think I should unblock it till I know what it is either.
But it's a countinuous thing so I turned off display alerts. It keeps trying to come through like ever few seconds. On this laptop I use wireless so I can be mobile. On my other computer it's more of a home computer and it's hooked up directly into the wall. Is that a router wireless?? Plus selectively block Java script.. Hummmm... How do you do that?? Will all that information eventually be posted in the computer section on this board??
Thanks Lynn

If it's working smoothly, I wouldn't mess with it. I also would not put too much of your computer information in public places. The less information people have, the better.
As far as the message goes, it would be hard to know what's causing it without more information.
I am also interested in seeing if Bex is having any better luck these days.

Hi Russ, ((( Smiles )))
Ya.. Thats true.. Only here. My firewall is working so well.. I don't think anything can get through it. Need to fine tune it. I check it everytime I'm on the computer. I also wonder how Bex is doing too?? The board works alot better it seems now. Much smoother.. I have not had any more connection problems of yet. Hope Bex is not haveing them either.
Thanks Lynn

Hi Russ, not sure as yet, as I have not been here the last few days as much. But today I got on and the same problem occured. It's possible there is an improvement, but I'll let you know when I'm on long enough and searching the site enough to know.
Cheers!

Hi Russ, ((( Smiles )))
I hope Bex is doing O.K. I know what thoses programs are now.. I need a book to look it up too like they have. They said it was fine. The connection problem on my update had nothing do with this board but I know what to do now.. To make it better. The connectivity and Submit PreReview problem seems to be resolved. If I have anymore problems I'll let you know. Oh what fun computers are. Don't you just love it! I'm watching Dr Blaylock on TV.. And he was asked why does he do what he does?? He said because thats what Christians are supposed to do. Because it's so inhuman whats going on and it sure is. And the true science other studies/ research on the flu shot and what this mercury ect can do.. And the people willing to tell the truth about it.. No matter the scoffers out there but out of love. I got to get his book before they ban it or something. But as what you say about chemtrails.. They probably don't care because it's allready here. The world slumbered and it's too late. The damage has allready been done the players are in place. And people are just in panic of what to do now. I know you say we can do alittle.. We can, we can warn others but I don't think we can stop them. If we won't take the mercury in our teeth or in our blood. They will just spray us with it being so toward the end of the latter days.. Thats what you say. It will take awhile for people to catch on to that too.. Then of course when that Jesus shows up in the news and on TV Everyone will believe it by then. So on to a different thread.. But of course just like the chemtrails. We're just going to have to ride it out again because lots of people have not studied/ read and are late catching on "again". To whats really going on.. It can be hard at times. You know it. Hang in there. I will if you will.
Thanks Russ Lynn
