Since getting my fillings replaced, I've been sweating more than normal. I've not even been doing physical activity. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Steve: Just wondering. I have hypothyroidism. Often, I cannot sweat and I get prickly heat instead. I have just read today that mercury replaces iodine on the thyroid. The thyoid does not work without iodine. When mercury replaces iodine, you get hypothyroidism with sypmtoms which I listed on miriam's post. (I forget to mention the fact that you can't sweat as well as you should). Perhaps, if mercury has left your thyroid, and iodine has replaced it, you are now developing an ability to sweat. We are often, as a nation, according to the dr. whose column I just read, deficient in iodine. However, if you are taking Algin, and if that Algin has still got its iodine, (kelp has oodles of iodine), then, as the mercury leaves, iodine will take its proper place, and you will be able to sweat - which is good - it helps you to detox. Russ, does the Algin you sell still have iodine?

I'm taking kelp anyhow.
I often wake up feeling dirty and need to shower. Even if I've had a shower the previous night.

Steve,
The amount of sweating a person does often changes when fillings are removed.
When mine were removed, I sweated a lot less?closer to what would be considered normal.
Laura, when she had her fillings out, sweated much more, again?close to what would be considered normal.
Body chemistry is changing. This is a good sign.

I sweat a lot. I can rarely wear the same top for more than a day. I don't generally wear deodrant because the smell makes me sick and I worry about the cancer risk. But if I'm going somewhere then I put up with the deodrant. I even have to use baby shampoo at the moment because I get reaction others.

I noticed that throughout the Summer as I was getting my fillings out two by two, that my hair was getting lots more oily!
Normally I just shampoo my hair once a week, as it got too dry washing it more than that.
During the Summer , I found I needed a shampoo about every 2 days or I looked skanky.
Now I leveled off to only needing a shampoo twice a week . My skin isnt as dry anymore either-- has a nice glow to it and im 42!

Hi Steve,
I noticed I sweat a lot more usually at night. This seems to be the time that I am detoxing. Usually it's almost like clock work, at midnight I wake up all sweaty and not feeling good and then I manage to go back to sleep, then I may wake up sweaty again some time during the night. After this I usually get cold and need to cover up.
It's pretty weird but really almost like clock work. In the beginning when I first had my amalgam fillings removed improperly I was sweating sooo much it was like I had a constant fever. I believe it is (was) all the mercury leaving through my pores. It seems to be lessening, but I don't seem to understand my detox cycles. I guess I just have to wait it out, and I keep repeating to myself that this will not last forever.

Yes, I haven't been able to sweat - at least not a lot, for as long as I can remember ( I got my first fillings early, as well as immunizatons, as well as multiple, multiple allergy shots). I get "prickly heat instead. I am hoping that amalgam removal will recitfy this.

I failed to mention earlier that about 6 months before I discovered that my amalgams were the source of my problems, I was sweating so badly while sleeping that I would literally wake up in soaking wet covers; And that was in a 67 degree F bedroom. Now, it only happens if I have a big serving of fish AND forget to take Algin. Of course, that rarely happens anymore.

Yep. It takes quite a workout for me to sweat these days. Cutler says that the non-sweaters are typically more ill than the sweaters.

I have had that a couple of times. Because of my female problems, I thought I was having menopausal flushes, but after 5 years of annual tests, there is no indication medically that I am in perimenopause. Cutler says that the non-sweaters are typically more ill than the sweaters. I hope that's true, as since getting my fillings out I swaet a lot more frequenty. I also have to bathe/shower a lot more, as before I never really felt like I needed to bath, these days I do every two days.
