Hello, I have had a read through your forum today and am amazed that I think I have found what has been my problems.
Currently I am sitting on the beach in a hut in the middle of Thailand ( I live here anyway, but 6 hours away), trying to find a cure to my illness.. I have been going absolutely crazy and I decided to get away and try and figure things out..
My symptoms are:
A messed up head, real vague, very foggy, very scared of noises, especially knocks at the door or pin drops etc = weird! I have no energy really, I have walk a little and then have to sit down for quite a while and usually sleep during the day also.. I am in bed at 8ish and up and 4ish and feel good for 2 hours and then the rest of the day its a battle to get through to the next day.
Life has been horrible for about 3 months, I have 3 ulcers in my stomach which the doctors wiped me out with medication (I am now free from the industry all together) and up till now I thought I had adrenal fatigue (still might also).
It is very hard to get a diagnosis in Thailand as with all doctors they are yes men, guys in coats working for the INDUSTRY.. but even more so here because of culture difference.
If it wasnt for the internet, I would of blown my head by now.. truely.
So, I think I have mercury poisoning on top of everything else and the reason I think that is that I had none of the looney tunes going on in my head and the rest of the debilitating stuff until about 4 months ago when I had my back tooth pulled and the tooth next to that has a filling (amalgam)..
so would I be right in thinking this could be a reason??
I really want to find a cure and feel normal again.. I have now been to 2 detoxes in 2 months, where I have undergone 7 days complete detox and actually felt great whilst on them and a few days after that and then I get all the symptoms back again..
I could ramble on for hours, please let me know If Im on the right track please.. I read a lot of your stuff today Russ and others and fell I am in good hands..
Cant wait to hear from you. Brett

Hi Brett, I am very glad you found us too . Mercury from amalgam is actually one of the MAIN things a person ought to consider as being a possible/probable key in their mysterious health issues, when there seems to be no real answers. The reason I say this is, it's one of the most common ongoing sources of toxicity that many of us have been or ARE exposed to on a daily basis. Unless there is some other internal ongoing problem such as infection and/or virus etc. OR, an external exposure significant enough. I think you are on the right track personally, but nobody can know for certain. It is at least ONE source of toxicity and it maybe the cause in your problems, or at the very least a contributing factor. Certainly, amalgam is never benign. Though some handle it better than others for various reasons. Sooner or later, one can succumb to its effects and buckle under the toxicitiy and remain chronically ill from then on. There are often triggers to that happening. An accident, or some other immune challenge maybe the trigger for someone's body finally succumbing under the strain and no longer able to battle the amalgams as well as it may have done before. It is often a slow, insidious build up of illness or it can be dramatic. I've heard of some people becoming almost immediately ill following an amalgam being placed, or some deteriorate over time and cannot pinpoint the cause. You would do well to look into the role candida has in amalgam toxicity. In many people with amalgam toxicity, candida (yeast overgrowth) can be a very big problem. This in itself can cause many similar symptoms to mercury. though it is often not the cause, it is usually a severe outcome of a lowered/poisoned immune system. Please look into this if you have not already. Treating candida with diet, can help your body handle the amalgam toxin much easier and may reduce or even remove many symptoms. It is not a cure, but it is sometimes a life saver for many. This means eliminating sugar, wheat/gluten, and yeast from your diet and possibly eliminting or at least reducing high carbohydrate foods also (depending how severe the yeast growth is). Yeast overgrowth gives off toxins of it's own and often overloading the gut and liver with them. The gut and liver are required for detoxification. When they are overloaded by yeast toxins, you will probably have big issues trying to detox and handle the mercury. So look into this seriously! This can at least be a help to you as you embark on amalgam removal. There are some biologic dentists who insist on treating their mercury toxic patients for candida before they will even remove their amalgams, so they can strengthen them for the removal process and detox that follows. It is very important. Though removing amalgams in the end, may improve or even resolve yeast issues. It is still wise to treat it at the sametime. Treating yeast enabled me to lessen my severe depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. I may not have been here otherwise. Though amalgams were the underlying problem, yeast toxins took over also. The fact you feel great whilst on detox plans, but then start to deteriorate again when off them, does show you have an ongoing source of toxicity and the toxins once again, build up inside you after you stop the detox. So somehow you have to switch of the tap of toxicity (amalgams?). Diet will also detox you and if you stick to it, will help KEEP the toxins somewhat reduced and may at least keep you going in the meantime. But the amalgams maybe the culprit and will need to be SAFELY removed by a biologic dentist. Vitamins/minerals can also help you, alongside the diet. I tend to take a powder mix multi vitamin/mineral supplement as a good overall foundation and from there add some extras that mercury and other toxins tend to deplete - vitamin E, selenium, vitamin C, magnesium, zinc, etc. These are pretty typical ones that people take. I also make sure I get enough healthy fats/oils in my diet too, which are necessary for hormones and the brain etc. Fish oil (mercury free) (and/or cod liver oil - mercury tested), organic flaxseed oil (I add a couple of teaspoons each time I have a cup of sugar free acidophilus yoghurt), butter (excellent and recommended by Hal Huggins for mercury poisoning), extra virgin olive oil etc. Stay away from hardened vegetable oils like canola etc. Low fat, no fat diets are also not usually recommended. Fat is far more necessary than we have been lead to believe for many functions inside the body. Maybe we can start helping you locate a biologic dentist nearest to you as possible. Here are a few links that "may" help for starters. Click on these: Locate a biologic dentist (You can also "Ask the doctor" on there, who may also be able to help you find somebody nearer you).Holistic and mercury free dentists in different areas

Hi Bex, Thank You for the incredible amount of info you have given. It is much appreciated !!
After I posted my first post last night I actually did follow your froums lead and look into Candida in the net for a few hours. I saw the vids on oxygen tabs and probiotic blends like threelux (?? spelling) etc and I even saw something yourself or Russ had posted regarding what to eat and what not to eat.. I cannot find that now, but it was to do with some vegetables being fungus and dont eat fruit due to the sugar (yeast forming).. To be honest everyone has their own slant on what to eat and what to take and to be honest I am more than confused.. SO confused in fact that for breakfast this morning I had 2 cloves of Garlic! which is ok when alone!.. So any info on peoples personal experiences would be very welcome.. I though Dr Whiting seemed like a great guy, I forget his website but he is on youtube under Candida treatments etc.. A Naturopath I think or a holistic healer.. I have sent him an email and asked some questions... In short I want to get this treatment quickly, whatever it is, be it diet or a program that works.. I want to be sure I am doing the right one, but I am urgent to get one started.. Any more info would be great and I really appreciate your time so far. Kind Regards Brett
P.S. today i ate no fruit and felt better. I also had a stirfry steak curry with brown rice and felt ok finally a fish baked with ginger and have felt ok.. so all up, today was a good day compared to the rest.. I even managed a trip into town and 2 walks on the beach.. thats never happened!!! ( ;

Hi Brett, You are most welcome . There is a LOAD of advice out there on how to treat candida and one person will say this and another will say something else. It also depends on how serious the problem is, as to what you can handle on the diet. Some people may only have to give up sugar, wheat/gluten and yeast and may get away with eating other foods that are sugar, wheat/gluten and yeast free. Even some fruit and high carbohydrates. However, those like myself who have a much more serious problem will not even get away with that and may have to limit or eliminate ALL high carbohydrate foods. Yeast aren't too fussy, they can feed up natural sugars too (like in fruit), so even fruit can in some cases, cause a relapse. You may find you can get away with "some" non wheat/gluten grain like you mentioned (rice). That's fine if you can do that. If you prefer to eliminate fruit? That's probably a wise idea. The more sugars you can get out of your diet? The better and you will more efficiently reduce the yeast and start improving your immune system. The foods and drinks I have had to give up have been the following: Fruits, grains (even non wheat/gluten sadly, because they are still high in carbs, though at least some people can eat them), high carb vegetables like potatoes, carrots, corn, peas, beans, etc. honey, sugar, yeast, coffee (can apparently affect gut bacteria and strain adrenals also), juices etc. My diet consists of the following safe foods: Eggs (free range/organic), meats (chicken, beef, liver, lamb/hoggot/mutton, pork etc - preferably organic if you can afford it), low carb vegetables (e.g. celery, tomatoe (also a safe "fruit"), lettuce, cucumber, alfalfa, broccoli, cauliflower, leek, silver beet, brussel sprouts, etc). Raw nuts (almonds/brazil tend to be safest), and raw seeds (pumpkin and sunflower) Acidophilus sugar free natural yoghurt (which I mix flaxseed oil into). These I use mainly as snacks, but I eat more of them than I probably should. Liquid consists of water, vitamin C and lemon juice, and herbal or regular tea. I consume fats/oils like butter, flaxseed oil, olive oil and mercury free fish oil and cod liver oil and even eat the fat on meat with the meat! And leave skin on chicken. The diet is the most important aspect of treating candida. Anything else is simply "supplementary", but not essential. There are plenty of products on the market out there and often very expensive. But they may not be as effective as they are made out either. I find that antifungals etc, do not tend to continue doing the job as well as they did when you start. Because the idea is to remove all the foods yeast feed on (which also lower immunity) and replace them with low carb healthy foods to both starve out excess yeast (or keep existing normal levels under control) and build immunity over time. That is the key to dealing with yeast from the foundation up. Amalgam removal will help, because it's likely mercury maybe at the bottom of all of this. To be successful, the diet has to be stuck to without cheating. Cheating will cause a relapse. Even a small cheat may cause it. It may take a few weeks or more before any improvement is noted and be prepared for a die off effect if you havne't gone through that before. The symptoms often intensify as the yeast begin to die off. Their toxins are released and you will temporarily feel more toxic and may feel headachey, sleepy/drunk and quite ill for awhile. Your existing symptoms may simply intensify and other ones may occur also. Don't be too alarmed, it's not abnormal and often it's expected. Your body may take time to process the die off toxins. Be patient. The end result is often well worth the effort. A typical time period is three weeks before seeing results. However, that can vary from person to person and may even take up to 6 weeks or more for some. Depends on your condition and immunity too. You can take garlic if you want, it can help reduce yeast also, but be careful as it can also stir up mercury. Some people actually take garlic to reduce mercury, but some cannot tolerate it as it mostly tends to mobilise it rather than remove it. Depends on how you cope with it yourself. The vegetables I mentioned are also natural antifungal agents. You shouldn't need to spend money on antifungals, when the diet and foods alone can do the job very well. You can of course take supplements that help like the ones mentioned in the earlier post above. All of these things are designed to reduce yeast and build up your immune system. Some people actually feel much better, even if they still have amalgams in their mouth. That is how effective the diet can be. Again, you will have to work out what you are able to get away as far as high carb food goes, but always steer clear of sugar, yeast, wheat/gluten. These appear to be the worst culprits for most people for some reason. Wheat apparently is also treated with mercury fungicide. You'd be wise to steer clear of it. Plus the gluten itself, which some cannot digest properly and it can cause illness. Yeast can tend to cause allergic reactions in a person that has a yeast issue and that in itself can stress the immune system too. I hope this is helpful. It is quite simple, but at first it may seem a bit daunting. You get used to it and if/when you feel better, you really won't know yourself. I found when I improved from the diet, I didn't want to go back to my old way of eating and feel like i did. You form a habit of healthy eating. Unless of course, you find cheating no longer causes sickness, which "may" happen after you remove amalgams and detox your mercury. Though it's always wise not to mistreat your body by junkfood anyway. In the meantime, I'd go for the diet and see where it gets you. be aware of initial cravings that may start to set in. This can REALLY test you and cause you to feel weak and very hungry. You may even feel like you're starving and you could crave the very things yeast needs to survive. It is usually the yeast becoming desperate and starting to die off. But it doesn't last. However, it's a real test of will power and patience and you gotta hang in there and go with the flow, however painful. Drink tea, do whatever you can to cope. Exercise if you need to. Eat a big meal and fill yourself up on good foods that don't feed yeast!
