I know you don't have the book, but I figure I will give page numbers for anyone else reading this post.
On page 99, he says that "Vitamin C in large amounts, zinc and molybdenum hinder copper absorption from the intestines." He says to take 10-20mg zinc, 250-1000mcg molybdenum, 250-500mg calcium and 2 grams of Vitamin C every time you eat. "Taking zinc and manganese in a ratio of 20:1 will increase the urinary excretion of copper."
On another page he says that taking ALA may actually INCREASE the copper in your body. ALA disrupt bile copper excretion, so he says to keep your copper low when detoxing for mercury.
Wilson's Disease causes people to lose the ability to excrete copper in the feces, so you can become copper toxic on a normal dietary intake. If you are indeed copper toxic, you may want to look into this.
On page 66 he says that it may be helpful to have a stool analysis for toxic and essential elements. In normal individuals 96% of copper will be excreted in the feces. Therefore, if there is no copper is being excreted in the feces then ALA may help to increase urinary copper excretion.
However, this should only be used for people who aren't excreting copper in the feces because ALA would normally decrease copper excretion in feces. Basically ALA may be helpful but you need to know whether or not you are excreting copper in the feces. If you are then ALA would not be helpful.
"The traditional treatment for copper poisoning is penicillamine, which many people do not tolerate well." He says that DMPS will increase urinary copper excretion significantly. DMSA won't do anything.
Copper toxic individuals will have imbalanced fatty acids, so he suggests taking flax oil.
He then gives a name to a clinic that has extensive experience in treating copper toxic individuals.

Lucky for you, page 66 is included in the google preview, so you can read it all for yourself here.
Page 66-Google Preview I suggest typing copper into the search box on the right side and see which pages you can view. You can read a lot of his book for free on google. If you see a page with info about copper you are unable to preview, I can let you know what it says.
