Or do you ever know the difference - all symptoms are similar. How do you know what to attribute it to so then you know whether to chelate, stop chelating, add antifungals or reduce antifungals or just suffer through it?

That's a tough one. You may get to know yourself after a long period of time what maybe doing what, but it's not always possible. So long as you're following a strict candida diet, you should not require antifungals, they may cause ongoing die off symptoms because a certain amount of yeast (due to mercury and low immune system) may continue to remain at a certain level. So it's an ongoing cycle of killing it and it growing back to a certain extent.

The best method is to cut off it's ability to feed and thrive. So though you're not killing it constantly, you are also not letting it grow any further. That's my view, or you maybe stuck with ongoing die off. The diet causes enough die off intially on its own without any help. It can also take weeks for improvement to show up from starting diet.

At any rate, again the symptoms may not always be known for what they are. I'm sorry but it is very hard to explain. I can usually tell the difference in myself, but I can't describe it because it may cause "fatigue" but the KIND of fatigue may differ from oneanother.

I'd just be careful of antifungals, they'll be spilling toxins into your bloodstream/liver continually from killing yeast that is continuing to grow back from mercury/immune problems. Just use the diet, or you maybe overwhelming yourself with die off toxins, PLUS movement/chelation of mercury.

also, it is recommended by some that one should not even START antifungals, until they have been on the strict diet for about 6 months or so. However, it's unlikely you will ever cure candida unless you get rid of the underlying problem (which for you maybe mercury). So there is not too much point in using antifungals constantly.

I used to get too sick from them anyway. Vomited a few times. It just poisoned my liver too much and then the toxins from that, would then lower me even further and of course the yeast would thrive again from that and the cycle continues. Antifungals maybe more effective after a temporary condition, rather than an ongoing one.

It's up to you though. But you may not know what is doing what if you continue taking them. If you do the diet and chelation, you may find things are not as intense.

Bex is right I tried some olive leaf extract recently and had some huge die off I think. It felt more like big time movement of mercury though... I had muscle aches and weakness, tremors, headaches and bad depression with uncontrolable crying. Felt just like I did 6 months ago. Maybe organ dump of mercury...have not experienced that yet...so could be that. I have found though if you start killing yeast you will also release mercury, viruses etc too so it's really hard to say. Stay on track with the diet...that will help the most and you can release toxins slowly so you don't overload the body and have alot of pain.

Mercury detox makes me more depressed it seems and like Skies said really emotional. I also feel like my brain is spewing so to speak and teeth need to grind more during mercury detox. When I candida cleans I get a sore throat and feel more sick at first, but also feel alot better in ways as far as depression etc. Mercury detox sucks! I can tell a difference.

BTW you are right on the relase of Mercury from killing Yeast, I have a metallic taste in my mouth when I kill Candida! Thanks for pointing that one out!

Hi Sean, yeah symptoms are exacerbated big time during mercury detox and horrible as this sounds, you can get intense suicidal thoughts/urges as well as any other symptom. One has to be very very careful. Depending on hw you handle mercury and the detox of it. If you are like me, you will need to really watch yourself. No heroics! I went through hell.

Yeah, aggressive candida treatment can result in release of metals from yeast (if the yeast contain it). It's apparently been tested after yeast killing and it's been found high levels of mercury in urine. It can be dangerous to use antifungals if one is loaded with mercury with much yeast containing it. Been there! Diet is far safer and is a long term solution because it also builds immunity and denies yeast what it needs to surivive, so the excess yeast gets weakened and slowly dies off.

Much better way of doing it. Antifungals never worked long term for me anyway.

This all makes sense but I wonder now - I am doing a parasite cleanse which has antifungals in it and it kills parasites and yeast - stuff like garlic, caprylic acid, castor bean. That is in the capsule anyway, The tincture is only parasite stuff - clove, wormwood, and black hull. I have been having severe die off. I am 10 days post amalgam removal. I wonder if between mercury detox and yeast killing - it may not be a good thing to kill the yeast right now. Maybe I should just take the tincture. I have really cleaned up my diet in the past few days - it was good but I was drinking some fruit juices but eliminated them now too. I guess just the tincture would still kill the parasites. Any thoughts?

Well, the diet should start to help and reduce yeast by itself and in a much safer easier manner. That alone can cause enough die off anyway. I was pretty toxic for three weeks whilst on the candida diet, but NOTHING compared to how I was when I tried antifungals. You could continue with the tincture, but apparently cloves are strong antifungals too....so that might be responsible too for strong symptoms....

The diet alone will deal with the yeast if you are strict enough. As for the parasites? you can certainly take stuff to deal with those, but many, as you know do have antifungal agents in them which may add to your die off situation. The antifungals that I'm aware of are cloves, garlic, caprylic acid (from coconut), grapefruit seed extract, etc. I don't think wormwood, black walnut hull are particularly antifungal....

Yes - I think the antifungals are too strong for me right now but am constantly reminded (by the toilet - sorry!)that I have a parasite problem. I need to address it but carefully. I did look it up and cloves are antifungal but wormwood and black walnut are not so I think the tincture 3xday is a better way to go even though it has clove in it - I need for parasites. The capsule had way too many other yeast things in it. I'm trying to tackle parasites right now. The other thing is I need to keep the bowels going - apparently the type of parasite that I am passing causes constipation when it leaves because it bunches up in a ball clogging the colon. The detox tea helped along with a castor oil pack - passed some parasites and felt a little better. So I will drink plenty of detox tea to keep it going - I know JK98 not too much. My stomach has been gurgling like you wouldn't believe - it sounds like a war is going on! I think I am really going to feel better after tackling this - although it may take some time. One cleanse is probably not enough. Does anyone know if you can stay on clove oil indefinetly or what I can use for maintenance dose for parasites? Would pumpkin seeds and pineapple be enough?

Wormwood is one of the strongest antifungals. Black walnut green hull extract and clove extract are also antifungal. I like the fact that you are sticking with the tincture. That will kill the parasites, and also kill some of the yeast, but not give you as much candida dye off symptoms as if you would take the capsules as well.

Pineapple will feed yeast. Steer clear of fruit like this. The only fruit allowed on the candida diet is mainly tomatoes/lemons. Even if pineapple might be good for parasite treatment, it's not for candida.

Pumpkin seeds are fine and clove maybe ok too, as is garlic. If you can handle them long term.

Gurgling is usually die off. I've had it myself and when I first went on the diet, it was incredible the sounds that came from my abdominal area. That can be a good sign when you're treating yeast.

But yeah, I'd stick with diet and parasite treatment personally and not too many antifungal stuff. Cloves "maybe" ok but generally it's not recommended to use any antifungals until you have been well and truly on the diet (strictly) for about 6 months and then you can introduce some form of antifungal/s if you really wish to do that. It's not crucial though. Diet can heal this condition if you do it well enough.

Also, vegetables like broccoli, onions etc are also quite antifungal anyway, just not as lethal as some others perhaps.

exactly bex it all shares the same names but with each thing feels different.

bex, about die off and gurgling - do u also get this sort of 'vaccum' sesnation during die off in your intestines, as if things were sucking in on you from the inside, lol? i actually notice my intestines "grow winwards" when this happens, and i get dehydrated around waste line.

Hi Jinx, I'm not sure if it's the same thing. But since the viral infection, my gut sensations became very strange and of course candida became a major problem from that time onwards. I would get a pulled in sensation in the gut area....so it sounds like it maybe similar. I tried to describe this to others, but they didn't get what I meant. This would occur after a cheat, OR with die off and I never knew whether the yeast was feeding or dying. It is a nasty feeling and hard to describe. I also had it sometimes if I chelated the wrong way and more toxins would enter my gut area. My gut became a stand out problem with that viral infection and I also feel it worsened after wisdom tooth removal. I do feel there is an ongoing suppression of immunity and leakage of toxicity somewhere in me. This would explain why I do not respond to the same efforts that I used to. It is similar to not really being able to get a healing crisis and if I "do" get anything, there is a lack of expected improvement after it an the condition still remains regardless.

Every problem also hits the gut area and that odd pulling sensation becomes paramount. WHen I took garlic supplementation, I have no idea what on earth happened, but I wound up in emergency in the most agonising pain I have ever experienced. I feel it shunted toxins straight into the gut, because of the change in me from the virus. Everything always hit the gut area, so that's not surprising. I even started to get heat and rashes coming up on the skin around the abdominal area and I took very lose dose chelation, which eventually aided those toxins to start shifting out of there and the rashes on the gut would get lower and lower down (even to the groin area) and as this occured, the pain improved. It took 6-7 months for improvement.

And believe it or not, but it happened a second time after me taking another garlic pill. Stupidly I considered it was too strange for the garlic to be responsible the first time around and decided "it could not have been that" and suffered the same thing a second time. Once bitten twice why? I had to be bitten twice.

I didn't get the dehydrated sensation around the waist line, but I do get excessive thirst quite often which again, can either be increased toxicity OR the process of detoxification. I have certainly experienced that and when I am on the diet and have been for a long time and excessive thirst starts up, it is usually a pretty good sign. Though at the time, it doesn't feel like that

This infection has been horrific to say the least and is interferring even now with my efforts to work.

Hi Mikey, I'll list all the vegetables that are safe to consume on the candida diet. I have a bad case of candida and my candida problems increase very easily. These vegetables are safe for me and for anybody. Some maybe able to consume the higher carbohydrate vegetables, but others like myself will not.

These links should explain it really well

List of ok foods (vegetables included)

Although I do not follow this diet perfectly, I personally still include acidophilus sugar free yoghurt and raw almonds/brazil nuts and seeds - pumpkin/sunflower. These seem ok with me. However, I follow the rest of the diet and it's the closest I have seen at dealing with candida properly. Other diets allow certain things that have been very bad for me and caused a relapse.

Yeah, my gut does the same thing. I have cheated and then heard a party going on down there! The noises are bizzare and very annoying. It can also occur during die off.

The other problem is gas. That can increase ALOT during die off/healing. So anybody getting a lot of gas, itching down below in private areas, and cramping, loose bowels and/or constipation when they are on the diet, shouldn't be too upset and thinking they're failing. This can go on for sometime during healing and it's not usually a quick fix. Depends how sick a person is as to how fast they will heal and what symptoms they may get.

There are many symptoms of healing that can be distressing and it can feel like you're getting nowhere or getting worse. Sometimes it's ongoing for weeks or even a couple of months or more.

I actually got tired of it and tried going back to my old ways, some, I think to try and stop the cleansing crisis I started! I need to be able to work! Sadly, that was not the answer.... Yes - something is definitely having a party in my intestinal tract!!! LOL... I did feel better when I started getting strict.... I have to keep telling myself, this too shall pass.... (Sometimes literally sick

Is it possible for a person to not have a candida problem? I looked around at the symptoms online and can't say I have them.

Perhaps someone could give me a quick overview of what I should look for. A link to a website is good too!

Thanks!

Candida symptoms can be confused with mercury symptoms, because they are often so similar. What one person experiences may not be the same for another. A good way of finding out if you have problems is by going on the diet and seeing if the existing symptoms get worse, OR you develop symptoms. Either way, this can be a sign that existing overgrowth is beginning to die off and your body is trying to detox.

That is a good test to do. It is very hard otherwise to test for candida and many apparently get false negatives. If you have candida overgrowth, you may find yourself getting worse when you get on the candida diet. It may take a few days for it to hit you though. You can get headache, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, increase in itching (private areas especially) and worsening of other symptoms.

I'd recommend you take a look at this website and check out symptoms on there also http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/

You're welcome birdlady. And yes it is possible for a person not to have a significant candida problem. It just depends on how helpful the diet turns out to be for you, or not. Though admittedy the diet is healthy for anybody and beneficial for immunity and any condition, so I always think it's probably worth doing and if you haven't got a significant candida problem, you can still eat healthy and reduce the bad stuff (or eliminate it).

There are plenty of natural healthy foods out there one can have as snacks.

I have had varying degrees of candida problems. Depending on my condition and situation. Sometimes the diet made dramatic improvements, sometimes it didn't seem to make too much improvement. But it's always worth doing for the sake of ones health regardless in my opinion.
