Yeah I have thought about lyme, but I don't think I have it. The infection was caused by an infected eye cosmetic. It started with eye infection from there and spread throughout my system. I don't think lyme disease starts like that.
It may not start like that but your eye infection might have been the catalyst. You add Mercury and a bacterial pathogen and that might be CFS right there. One thing I've learned is that you can not make any assumption.
It was because I kept watering the mascara down to make it more moist, but this takes away the antibacterial agents (dilutes it) and allows any kind of organism to breed in there and I had done this before and gotten away with it, but oneday I did not. Perhaps because I was detoxing mercury strongly at the time and may have been vulnerable. But whatever got in, spread from eyes, to brain, to my entire body. The most bizzare condition I have ever endured and it's remained since.
Bex, I thought mascara was supposed to contain mercury (not sure why unless that is the antibacterial agent. If you google mascara and mercury I get over a quarter million hits.
I have tried salt and vitamin C (for lyme) but got no reactions. No die off, or improvements etc. I have tried a few herbal things, but no such luck. The only thing that controls things to a point is my diet.
I've recently started taking even more digestive enzymes with HCI and pepsin, pancreatin (pancreatic enzymes) which I take with food. I have some I take 30 minutes before food (protease type, etc). Those and probiotics helps addres my food intolerance issues. I supposed you've looked into Celiac?
Chelation doesn't work, detoxing hasn't worked. Cleanses haven't worked. Parasite cleansing hasn't worked and to be honest, I'm kind of through with it all. As negative as that may seem, I've found a point of "acceptance" (to a point) and understand my limits and do what I can under the circumstances, which isn't always easy, but it's better than me being bitter and angry daily, which I was.
I understand, every time I read something new I haven't tried before, get my hopes up, then when it fails it is very hard to recover psychologically from that.
It causes terrible symptoms, exercise intolerance, work intolerance and I constantly have to pace myself to be very very careful. Any exertion beyond a certain point causes me to become exhausted, feverish, sore throat, sore eyes, and unable to think straight. Everything gets much worse. SO I have to have rest and breaks inbetween exercising and/or work. If I do something daily, I'm in big trouble.
Did you try/ have any success with cortisone? Licorice?
Again diet is essential and must be permanent. I cannot cheat, or things worsen and take ages to improve again. I also suspect cavitations, which I believe occured after this infection because I was more vulnerable and had a wisdom tooth removed. So that can cripple the immune system even on its own without such a viral infection.
I think there must be several things at work here. If there was a single cause for CFS I think everyone would have it and it would be easy to find the cause.
I may also get myself some cat's claw at some point and see if that may help, but I'm wary as the stuff is potent and some react horribly to it and long term. So I'm in no hurry to make my situation worse long term in case there is such a reaction.
I would work on relieving your symptoms then in the short term. If it is fatigue then I would look into mitochondrial support and cortisol support.
Cheers
