Wormwood, the infrared sauna was extremely effective for me. As far as I know, it is more effective at removing mercury. You are able to sweat much more at lower temperatures. I could not tolerate a regular sauna - I felt sick in the heat. I bought the infrared before I ever knew I was mercury toxic and used it frequently (with my fillings in). It brought my symptoms under control (as much as it could with my fillings still in). At times when my symptoms were severe (muscle twitching, pain all over, etc.), the sweat caused a rash on my skin and the twitching stopped. I only got the rash when my symptoms were severe so I am certain it was removing the toxin (better on the outside than the inside). After showering immediately and applying coconut oil the rash was fine. After amalgam removal, I had a severe reaction about a week later (MS-like symptoms) that lasted for several weeks. I decided to use the sauna again and the severity of the symptoms subsided within a few days and I was back to my previous level of health within 2 weeks. I took magnesium and tri-salts before the sauna and Vitamin C and multiple minerals after. I have come across similar posts from people who had great improvement with the infrared and even one autistic mother who used it to recover her child. I think any sauna is helpful, I just know that I was able to sweat a lot more in the infrared (and I think I read that it was able to pull deeper from the tissues - don't know if that is true - just know that it worked for me.)

I also suffered from pretty severe panic attacks in random situations. Getting stuck in traffic in the tunnel or on the highway would set off a major one. Elevators too. Even in the middle of the night, I would wake up with a panic attack and feel I had to get my necklace off or try to get the door to my bedroom open. For some reason I thought I was locked in (which I wasn't) so of course I would unlock the door which was actually locking the door since it wasn't locked to begin with - and then I would really freak out because I was locked in. My husband really thought I was going nuts (especially since we knew nothing about the mercury at that time). I have not had a single panic attack in the last year since having my fillings removed. And I had no idea that this was related to mercury so I was not expecting them to stop - I didn't even notice at first - but then when I would find myself in a situation that I knew caused a panic attack and braced myself to do my deep breathing to try to bring it under control - nothing happened - no panic attack. I didn't need to do my deep breathing. I thought what is going on - this is great. Only after did I read about the effects of mercury on the adrenal glands and the relation to panic attacks. I hope they subside for you too.
