I never get diarrhea from vitamin C - no matter how much I take. I tried doing a flush a couple of weeks back and it took me over 50 grams just to have a BM - not loose. I read that Russ took megadoses after his amalgam removal. Are there dangers to too much vitamin C or does my body really need it right now and that is why I am not getting diarrhea? I don't want to do more harm than good - I take 4.5 powdered grams in juice and 8 grams in capsules - buffered throughout the day. I am using calcium ascorbate with potassium and magnesium. I also take magnesium supplements - about 1200 mg a day and still nothing. I will try the licorice root tea but don't feel like leaving the house today - I feel yucky day 7 of removal.

There are people who claim the possibility of kidney stones from too much vitamin c. Vitamin c also increases iron absorbtion, so those who eat plenty of iron and take large amounts of vitamin c might absorb too much iron. This is more of a problem for men than women though. I would advise against taking 50 grams a day of vitamin c. Imo up to 5 grams on a long term basis, or 12 or so grams for a few days during acute illness makes sense. This page is interesting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C

Even if 10 grams-20 grams of vitamin c a day doesn't hurt, I can't see how it would help most people much more than 5 grams a day.

As for herbs that have a laxative action, I suggest that people avoid senna, buckthorn, etc. especially long term, as these are not safe to use long term. They also tend to cause rebound constipation. I like using herbs that have a more mild laxative action like licorice root, garlic, ginger, alfalfa, and dandelion. These herbs are also great for detoxification. Eating more vegetables(and fruits for those who don't have candida issues) and drinking more water can help greatly. So can exercise. I also read that parasites cause constipation.
Taking probiotics will also help with constipation. The link below is interesting. I had forgotten about olive oil as a laxative. Olive oil is a good choice for long term constipation prevention. Some like using it raw, while others like to cook with it.

Good advice from JK.

Vitamin C is very important during mercury toxicity because mercury blocks it and people end up with easy bruising, spider veins, and other C-deficient diseases.

I take malic acid with C because C causes aluminum retention but malic acid will chelate the aluminum, and it seems to work very well for me.

This is what I currently take for malic acid:
Fibralgia

About magnesium... I am currently mercury toxic from heavy chemtrail spraying in our area and when I take 1200mg of this:

Magnesium Complex

Things work perfectly. In fact, 1200mg is the "sweet spot" for me right now.

Most mercury toxic people need a lot of magnesium...An amount that would cause a normal non-toxic person to get diarrhea. Of course, without mercury toxicity, I didn't need any magnesium at all.

Why you can take all that C and not have side-effects? I would explore an absorption issue or what type of C is being used. I currently use this:

Citrus Bioflavonoids for my C and if I take too much, I can definitely feel it.

Hope this helps.

You could try taking some coconut oil. It is a good antifungal and and antiparasitic. It is also a great help for those with constipation. Don't take too much though, as you might need to use the bathroom too many times a day. Perhaps 2 or 3 teaspoons a day though might be beneficial.

As for vitamin c and getting enough magnesium, one could take their vitamin c as magnesium ascorbate, thus getting both magnesium and vitamin c together in a form that is well absorbed.

I thought magnesium citrate was the best absorbed magnesium? Coconut oil kills yeast and parasites - I will use it eventually but right now I am having a hard enough time just doing the parasite cleanse - the die off is bad and I don't want to overload my body any more than it already is. I actually got some Senna tea and have been drinking that if thinks get rough. Thanks JK98!

Don't use senna! It will make constipation worse via its rebound constipating effects. Senna also has chemicals in it that are toxic with longer term use. Magnesium citrate is well absorbed, but so is magnesium ascorbate. Magnesium ascorbate is magnesium with vitamin c, so you get both at the same time. It is also buffered.

"Senna has been linked to liver toxicity. There is a report of a 52 year old woman who ingested one liter of senna tea per day for over three years. She developed acute liver failure and kidney impairment requiring intensive care therapy. Long-term use of anthraquinones has been linked to the development of colorectal growths (adenomas) and cancer. "

Okay no Senna Thanks! How about Cascara Sagrada - I saw it on another message board? Is it okay during a cleanse? I'm confused now about killing the yeast while I am mercury toxic. Should I be attacking it if it is releasing mercury back into my body? The parasite cleanse is killing everything and I feel aweful - today is the worst day yet maybe because I also cleaned up my diet and there is no yeast to feed on. Am I doing more harm than good by killing the yeast or do I need to get it under control before chelating? This is so confusing.

Cascara sagrada is buckthorn. It also has anthraquinones.

http://www.itmonline.org/arts/laxatives.htm

While an anthraquinone laxative may give you relief, it is likely to cause a worse problem the next day(rebound constipation). There are also longer term safety concerns with these. Try eating more low carb vegetables, drinking more water, taking in herbs like licorice root, ginger, and dandelion that are mild laxatives, and taking a few spoons of coconut oil a day.
Exercise also helps relieve constipation.

There are even greater safety concerns with magnesium laxatives(ie. epsom salts). Some people have died using too much of these. There are also great safety concerns with the internal use of castor oil.

Yeah i just read up about teh cascara sagrada - not looking like a good option. I'm going to get the licorice tea right now. It's not that I am really constipated but I have die off so I wanted to make sure things are moving. I decided though that I really only need to take the tincture of the cleanse - the capsules have many other things in them that are killing off yeast too. It is too much right now - I think I do need to get rid of the yeast but now right now - when yeast is killed it releases mercury so that is why I feel so mercury toxic right now too. The tincture will kill the parasites and that is what I want - it has wormwood, clove, marshmallow, and black hull walnut - I think that is it. I am trying that for several days to see if I can get some relief and decrease the load on my body.

The black walnut and wormwood are also laxatives. Perhaps when you finish the parasite cleanse you could take coconut oil? licorice root isn't just a mild laxative itself, it makes other mild laxatives much more effective.

The licorice tea will help with die off symptoms. Another option is to get a detox tea. The Triple Leaf Detox Tea and Yogi Detox Tea are good. they are a bit better at detoxification than the Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea, however the detox teas don't taste as good. The detox teas have licorice root, but in a smaller proportion than the licorice tea. The Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea also has cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, and orange peel. if you get a tea that is just licorice root, it might taste too sweet. You could try it and see if you like it.

I saw a gastrointestinal guy when I thought I was having a heart attack once and it was my stomach. It's ok, (stomach - some irritation, but no full blown ulcer) but he also saw me after I had appendicitis and is Indian. (East). He is big on natural remedies but warned me off things like cascara. I do still use some formulas with some in it, but it IS more effective to eat a high fiber diet. I lose my tummy when i eat that way. In fact I think I'll have a salad for lunch. I use spinach, romaine, walnuts, (ahem - cranberrys (with sugar) - gonna have to nix that), peas (nix), shoot...., carrot sticks....SHOOT : ) Anyway - use olive oil, lemon juice and braggs liquid aminos for dressing. mmm. Me and the kids came up with that and a few friends have adopted it : ) Gonna have to rethink this a bit I guess.

Thanks I am on my way to see what they have. Are you agreeing about the yeast issue - kill parasites right not tackly yeast later. Yes - I was thinking about the coconut oil once I am done this cleanse - I may stay on it longer than the 30 days - like rest for a week in between and then start up again since I have only been doing small doses - I think I need small doses for longer period. How long is it safe to take those parasite herbs - I called the company and they said not longer than 90 days if taking every day with small breaks every couple of weeks? I think the capsule has too much yeast killers and I may have a bigger parasite problem than yeast - I have had dogs my whole life (contributing factor). So my plan is parasites cleanse for 2 months or so trying to increase dose as I go along slowly with breaks every couple of weeks break for about 3 days or so, liver cleanse, then after cleanse maybe Neel homeopathetic kit - really helped me last time and introduce coconut oil slowly, liver cleanse again and start chelation slowly 6.25 mg every 4 hours. During this time sauna every other day and maybe slowly increasing time. Any thoughts?

By the way I have lost 5 lbs so far on this cleanse. I guess from eating better and clearing out the load - I have been getting VERY bloated the last year alot but that is gone! No matter how hard I tried to lose weight I could never break under 130 lbs. I may even be able to get into my back to school clothes! I also used to scratch my feet all the time and make sores - I always had sores on my feet and now I have multiple scars! I went for my massage last week (i go every other week) and she said - you don't have any sores! I hadn't even thought about it. Now I can wear some sandels without being so self conscious. Not sure what is making that better but hey it is progress. Sometimes it's hard to see the sun through the rain.

Too much C is bad right? I Thought it could damage kidneys? Is it not better to use natural Acerola for your C?

In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.

The Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea is good. I tried the Yogi Licorice Mint Tea that has Stevia and didn't like it as much. I need to try some pure licorice tea. It might be too sweet though, but might be better at fighting constipation. The Egyptian Licorice Tea also has peppermint, ginger, cinnamon, orange peel, cardamom, and black pepper. A nice antifungal mix. Licorice root is a mild laxative. The Egyptian Licorice Tea doesn't say what percentage licorice root it is.

I didn't even realize it was anti-fungal, too! Excellent! I almost bought the mint so glad not, now. They're actually closing this one out, so need to go buy it up...

It is very good - I LOVE just plain peppermint tea and have been drinking that like carzy. I think all of the herbal teas have some laxative effect - at least it seems that way to me.

I have been taking things here and there and WAS doing well with the no sugar thing. Anyway - while we were out of town, I noticed in my stool some little white things floating to the top of the water. I dont' normally really look that hard : ) but could this be parasites? I know what gall stones look like and I've passed lots of those in the past, and have a vague memory of these, too, but is that the evidences y'all see when passing them??? It inspires me to do better....

I tried the Alvita Licorice Root Tea. It works better as a laxative than the Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea. I guess that is to be expected, since the Alvita Tea is pure licorice root, while the Yogi Tea is a combination of several herbs.
