Probably around 50 mcg to start, but check reactions even on that dose. Build up very slowly. Start lower if you notice problems. You may get a bit from food, but usually not enough selenium unfortunately.
You can easily still be toxic after 4 years following amalgam removal. Consider how deeply stored mercury is and how difficult it is to remove from the body in those that have a tendency to retain it, rather than eliminate it properly (which is often the reason why we got sick from it in the first place). It also remains in the brain up to a lifetime!
I had amalgams out in mid 1997 and was still suffering by 2001-2002 Why? because I had simply not engaged on any frequent serious chelation protocol and most of the mercury stayed put. I started dumping it naturally at around early 1999. Got much worse as the stored mercury started leaking back out and making me very sick. I felt re-poisoned. From there, it was random, infrequent attempts at detox/chelation. Until I finally embarked on Andrew Cutler's protocol, which seemed to speed things up and make it more effective. Improvements were very slow and painful to reach. It can take a LONG time. Especially if you're doing it mainly naturally and your immunity aint too good.
Yeah, you would likely have candida and if you find you improve with treatment, then that's a strong indicator you should persue this more seriously and get yourself on a strict candida diet. Products for candida are usually expensive and are not the main answer in the long run. Diet is the way to go! There is no point in buying products and expecting them to do the job, whilst you continue eating stuff to feed yeast. As soon as you stop your products, you will be right back where you started, because you never stopped feeding the problem. This is not directed at "you" personally, but just what i have experienced.
I would not even use a product for candida. I would concentrate on diet alone. You can always add things later as you progress on the diet and die off symptoms improve. That is up to you how far you wish to go with it.
You must totally eliminate ALL sugar from your diet (sugar, honey, fruit). You should eliminate all wheat/gluten products (wheat is treated with mercury fungicide and gluten can screw the gut up big time and cause toxicity). Both are very very bad in candida/mercury. Sugar lowers immunity, feeds yeast and causes all manner of problems. Steer clear of it.
Fruit is healthy, but yeast can still feed off the natural sugars, so it's not worth consuming until you have gotten control of yeast and cheating with fruit does not cause big problems.
THe only fruit allowed is tomatoes and lemons. The rest is risky. I cannot eat any other fruit but them.
Eliminate milk from your diet, it contains lactose (natural sugar). You can eat butter and plain sugar free acidophilus yoghurt, but not milk.
You may need to eliminate all grains from your diet, as these are high in carbohydrates, which still have potential to feed yeast. That is up to you and how serious you have the problem. This also includes high carbohydrate vegetables like corn, carrots, potatoes, beans, peas etc. Be careful of them also. Potential to feed candida.
Yes it sounds extreme, but it's important at least until you have reduced substantial yeast and then if you improve enough you "may" (or may not) be able to loosen up a bit more and include high carb foods again (but probably not sugar wheat/gluten, unless you have cured your underying condition).
You can freely consume free range eggs, meat, chicken, low carbohydrate vegetables, sugar free acidophilus yoghurt, raw almonds/brazil nuts, sunflower/pumpkin seeds, herbal teas.
Cut out coffee, it's another bad one and can feed yeast also. Apparently contains cadmium too. Black tea maybe "ok".
Have plenty of essential fats like butter, extra virgin olive oil, fish oil/cod liver oil (mercury free brand), flaxseed oil etc (which can be mixed in yoghurt for taste and better effectiveness).
This is pretty much what I follow daily and results can often be seen in only a few weeks (if it's stuck to). But proper results may need a few months, as deeply stored toxins may take sometime to be dealt with after the body has improved from yeast....so don't be suprised if later on your body then decides to deal with deeper issues and you notice further healing symptoms. It can happen.
I would deal with the diet first, because it's the foudnation of everything else. Once you get this part right, you may find yourself gaining more improvements than you thought, without adding anything else to the candida regime. That will be up to you. As far as chelation goes? When you have a gut and liver screwed up by candida, it may not be wise. It can instead cause a circulation of the toxins which your body may not be able to eliminate due to toxins from candida.
A dentist here (biologic) will not treat his mercury toxic patients with amalgam removal etc, until they have first dealt with candida and the first part of that is "diet". If they refuse, he won't go any further with their mercury treatment plan. He knows how important/vital it is to get the yeast under control and gut and liver improving, so THEN they can start to detox the mercury better and more effectively. You may also find your symptoms may improve markedly just by treating candida alone!
