I was very sick for about 10 years before a doctor finally diagnosed mercury and I got my amalgams out. But before that, with my amalgams in, I did improve my health considerably with candida treatment alone. The candida diet was the most important thing to keep my symptoms under control. If I cheated at all, I got severely ill. I also took antifungals - the best for me were raw garlic and goldenseal tea. Also helpful to me were probiotics - morning, afternoon, and night, probiotic foods (sauerkraut and kimchee - vinegar free), kombucha tea (some candida books recommend this and some don't, but without a doubt it helped me), enemas helped me (because despite everything I still struggled with intestinal yeast overgrowth), and the infrared sauna was invaluable (don't know if your wife has access to one). I used a neti pot(for chronic sinus infections and vertigo). I agree with the supplements above, but I would also be a bit cautious on a higher dose of Vitamin E (it is a blood thinner and so is garlic so if she takes that it could be too much) and if she takes aspirin regularly (which she shouldn't), then definitely watch the Vitamin E. Frequent epsom salt baths were very helpful (I used 2 cups in hot water). It would usually stop my muscle twitching as did the sauna. The doctors seem to disagree on the chlorella issue. I don't know who is right and I did not personally use it. I used oral DMPS (after removal) and it worked so well that I left it at that. I am using Algin, but I am not seeing any benefit from it (maybe I need to up the dose as mercuryfreeme suggests).
