Maybelline eye liner has mercury in it. Cosmetics Database (containing mercury)I have been using mineral based make up but I know several types of make up use mercury. Buyer beware!

Many frangrances are made with aldehydes. Those who have candida issues should use unscented soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, deoderant, etc.

Apparently "dove soap" also contains mercury. I was surprised, considering I had been using that relatively recently and daily. So I soon quit And I was also using the scent free one! Not sure if that one had mercury or it was their other normal perfumed one, but as far as I know it was just "dove soap" that was said to contain it.

I use Ivory. I love how Dove smells though and almost bought some but didn't for some reason. That is unbelievable. I've heard it about mascara before, though. I have some Burt's Bee's eyeliner and its my favorite even compared to that french expensive brand I can't think of the name of. (Not Este Lauder, but the other big make up company).

Lancome? Clarins? I didn't know that Burt's Bee's makes mascara. It's time for me to get new makeup.

Yah - Lancome!!! I don't think BB's does make mascara - its eyeliner. Honestly the best, though, IMO! I just found another brand at the Rite Aid here called "Prestige" I think?? They use mineral eyeshadows and have an eyeliner likely similar to BB's in its makeup. Almost bought it but I have so much I don't really need it. I have a bunch of the Bare Escentuals, too.
As far as mascara...not sure what's good.

I staretd using Ivory cause a Physician's Asst. once told me it was best for females. I had been having trouble with yeast infections after taking anti-biotics. Best not to clean delicate areas with anything less than pure or with perfumes.

Bare Essentials makes masacra too! It is mercury free for sure. I have all of their products and LOVE them. As far as soap, I have had trouble with yeast infections since I was on steriods 15 years ago for Crohn's disease - my body never recovered fully from being on meds for so long. I started using organic perfume free years ago. It didn't seem to help the infections but I knew it was better for me anyway. Actually, the infections seem to get better after chelating several months ago - even though it was bad protocol some of my symptoms got better until I crashed.

How is BE mascara? I forgot you had Crohns. That is horrible. I have been on steroids for extreme allergies here and also for my neck injuries. I cannot tolerate them anymore. I've been on two medrol dosepaks total over my life, but also a couple steroid shots. It sent me into adrenal overdrive.... Not an option, but that will mess with you. I want no part of them anymore. I had a friend with Crohns. I know its miserable. I hope you are better???

Thanks, Jeanie! Praise God - I have been in remission for several years. However, most of my problems started with the Crohn's and being on steriods for 5, yes 5, years really put my immune system in distress. Every time I tried to get off the steroids I got sicker. I did find out about 2 years ago that I am allergic to gluten and have been gluten free for almost 2 years now. I'm sure that constributed to my stomach problems - I also had an ucler when I was 14. So now tummy has been better but head got worse. Horrible headaches and vertigo - obviously not gluten related by certainly mercury related. BE masacra is awesome! No clumps - very smooth. I love all of their products!

Do you think the steroids also affected your endocrine system? They make me hyper and more reactive. (affect my adrenals). I just caught that you said 5 years!!!! Wow.
Hope asking about your roots didn't sound insulting. I love southerners and live in the south. (but from up north by 8 hours - southern IL). Hailed from Alaska before that...and VA before that, and KS before that, and WA state before that, and UT before that....and Missouri before that : )

Yes I remember the hyper part - and of course a HUGE appetite. I gained a lot of weight on them but at the time I needed the weight - I was down to 100 lbs when at my sickest - I am 5'2". Then on steriods I gained about 45 lbs - I called them my fat pills. I was young - about 17 so weight was a bigger issue then. Now I still have fat pills but they are called Elavil. It helps with vulvodynia pain alot - apparently I have nerve damage from multiple - well almost daily - yeast infections. They caused me to tense up my muscles down there and caused the nerves to be damaged - at least that's what they (those wonderful doctor people) say. But the Elavil causes you to crave sweets - that's very helpful to a candida filled person - and cause a lot of hunger. Me - well just from Jersey oh and before that Philadelphia. Nothing exciting.

Bless your heart Mercuryfreeme. You suffer with a lot. I had a friend with sjorgren's (sp?0 an autoimmune syndrome that had that. (Vulvadynia). I think that was the name of it. Could be mixed up there.
I am 5'6.5 : ) I'm the tallest of my family (girls). My brother was barely taller...
I was on elavil for over 2 years, too, after I hurt my back. Helped me sleep....and supposedly helps with chronic pain. I got off it after I found out my eye nerves are enlarged and am a glaucoma suspect. It has been known to cause intraocular pressure changes. My opthtalmologist says its only for closed angle, but no way I'm going back on that. It took me a year to get off it. I had to wean down very slowly. Be wary of that if you feel you ever need to get off it.

I have been off it before and yes it was hell getting off - you have to wean VERY slowly. I hated to go back on it but the pain was bad and I had tried SO many other things that had given me very bad side effects. I thought the Elavil would have helped the TMJ headaches as it is supposed to calm your nerves but that has not happened. I am grateful to have a break from the constant vulva pain though. I had become suicidial at times from the constant pain. I have a lot of blurred vision but am not sure if it is related to the Elavil, mercury, TMJ, or something else. Who knows anymore what is causing what? I think we all suffer with a lot - just in different ways. I have learned to realize that there is always someone out there that is worse off than you. I am grateful to have a loving family, an awesome job, a beautiful home, a cool dog, and finiancial stability. i can't focus on what I don't have - that would only bring me down more - I will have those things too in due time - health and children. Unfortantely, they are the 2 things that I think are most important to me. I have always wanted kids and was devastated when we weren't able to concieve - now I think it was a blessing because it would be very hard to care for a baby while going through this process. Also, my husband had a massive heart attack last year and had a double bypass so neither of us were in great health. Now we are both restoring our bodies and I know that when all is well enough I will have my baby (girl!).

I'm not sure if it is much comfort, but no matter what, our bodies will be restored when we are resurrected and we won't have to deal with this garbage anymore. It is comfort to me. I guess I had given up, but I am back to caring again. I have 2 girls - both almost grown now (17 & 20 - the 20 year old is married since December). They are the light of my life. I gave up my own life for theirs pretty much, but they are a great blessing now. I wanted more, though. Miscarried at 41 right before 9-11.... I started hemorrhaging and had to have a D&C to save my life. I didn't want to cause I didn't want to kill the baby if it was alive, but it hadn't had a heart beat at 6 wks. and I had to let them. The Dr. told me there was no way it was living at that point. It was horrible. It was a huge leap of faith even letting myself get pregnant with my back. But I truly believe in the millenial reign we will have that chance again.... Not really sure how that works, but any opportunities denied will be given. If it doesn't work out in the future in this life(not sure how old you are?) you could adopt?? My husband is 55 almost 8 years older than me, but pretty healthy (??) so far. After the miscarriage I decided we are just too old. And my health is too delicate.... Even if I had the baby raising it would be difficult. I put my all into my kids, but not sure I would have it in me quite again. I use to dream I had babies all the time. I couldn't let it go. I really feel bad for anyone who feels unfulfilled that way.... You have a great attitude. I have tears streaming down my face even thinking about it. But now I have a new son-in-law who I haven't spent much time with (they're going to school in ID) but they are coming home for Christmas. She just stopped taking birth control cause it made her sick... They don't feel quite ready for a baby yet, but would welcome one : ) I have to be content with that and am. I use to always get attached to my daughter's boyfriends, though, and adopt them myself. I think its partly why I like subbing. I have lots of sons : ) (And daughters : ) As a teacher I'm sure you know what I mean. Perhaps your place is to be there for THOSE kids. I was actually told by this one boy that he saw me more than his own mom. (And this was as a sub!) I knew him through my daughter and he knew I cared about him. I know I've helped a lot of kids in my small way. Caring goes a long way....

I'm sorry to hear about that experience, Jeanie. I always thought that never getting pregnant may be better than having ever losing a baby - that must be horrible to go through. I am 33 and my husband is 43. We still have time and adoption isn't much of an option for him - his parents have him thinking that if God wants us to have a baby he will give us one. I would adopt in a heartbeat. Since finding out about this mercury, I have a renewed sense of hope in fertility. They (the docs) could never find anything wrong as to why I couldn't get pregnant - my embroyoes would always stop dividing but they never knew why. I now know why and I am hopeful that when I survive this crazy illness I will have my baby after all and she will be so much healthier now. I always tell people that I have 24 kids - my students - they are the luckiest kids because they have someone who thinks of them as her own. I spoil my kids - with love and attention - and most of them really need it. Today was a really hard day for me - a bad mercury day. For some reason, everything came out today - tired, anxious, headache, jaw pain - like pulling my teeth out, bad vertigo, gas, back pain, stomach cramps, nausea. I felt like crap - I can only assume it is the mercury. I cut back on the parasite cleanse and although I did clean up my diet more it wouldn't be die off this soon. I guess this is the getting worse after amalgams out thing. This sucks! I just want one good day - I need to be encouraged that this was the right decision and that I will get better. It looks bleak when you go through everything to get the source of mercury out and then you only feel worse - why is that?

MFM, I thought my post before went through, but doesnt' appear to have. There are more "current" experts on here, but when detoxing with the load you have you have a lot to dump and its best done gently. Perhaps in your, albeit, inspirational passion for getting better you just dumped too fast. Too much too soon. You need to be able to eliminate it and may be on overload, but you will have periods no matter what of feeling like absolute garbage. I have been trying to do it more gently starting today and so far so good. I tend to do too much too fast, too. Up until about 8 years ago I use to cleanse all the time...,like liquid fasts, etc. I was nice and slim in my twenties, but that was also about the time I started getting amalgams. We were poor growing up and never went to the dentist regularly. So once I got to college and on my own, I had to start getting fillings.. The beginning of the end... I got sicker after getting my amalgams out for sure. But like I said before, I know of (older) women who haven't gotten them out but know they are poisoned and are now dealing with MS, alzheimer's and cancer!!! Be greatful you caught this so young! At least we have gotten the source out. (well...other than environmental). I would personally just slow down on the cleansing. You have to cleanse and rebuild over and over. Remember the tortoise and hare example : ) This isn't a race. You have time for babies.. My husband didn't want to adopt either. But I would have. Perhaps that is the reason for the rush? Still - you can "hit the wall" and run yourself too much into the ground. I'm not sure about the big mercury dump. i wasn't that in tune or educated about it all when it was happening to me. You remind me of myself in some ways. Just had to learn my limitations with my back a long time ago so have to pace myself. You could be dumping meds and all kinds of things. It isn't even just the mercury or parasites.
What grade level do you teach? I like high school over all. I've been with freshman a lot the last year or so and they are still...kids. Its weird watching them bloom in front of your eyes.

Jeanie, I guess that emotional stuff is coming up today too. I cry for no reason every couple of hours. I thought when I was first going through this - I guess because I felt better emotionally at first - I thought I could pull this off. I read alot of the posts here about suffering and feeling crappy and I thought it wouldn't happen to me and I could be strong and fight it. HAHA! Mercury is a powerful thing - it got its grip on me today but soon I will overcome it - i have to think that way I can't let IT take hold of me. It has been 6 long years of baby wishing for me - at first it was horrible. I wasn't as sick and became obsessed about getting pregnant. Being a teacher everyone at school was pregnant but me. It was hard - we did fertility treatments which only weakened my body more. I got sicker from them and they messed my hormones up. I don't think my husband every understood how painful it was for me - he is so laid back and nothing really bother him. i, on the other hand, have always wanted to be a mommy. WIth each passing year, my dream seemed to get further and further away. I never could understood why God wouldn't give me a baby - I would make such a good mom. Now I know why - it wasn't the right time. My faith has grown so strong over the past 3 years. I'm not mad at Him anymore - rather I praise him for giving me the knowledge and means to find the strength and courage to carry on. I would be nothing without God. And I know now, without a doubt, that my baby is waiting for me. I also have 4 beautiful nieces and 1 nephew who Aunt Gina spoils.
I teach 3rd grade this year. I have taught special ed for 7 years but this year I am tranferring to regular ed 3rd grade. I am so excited. We start Sept 3rd and our school has gotten a new roof so I haven't been able to get in to unpack. I have so much to do! Actually I always feel better when i am in the classroom - I LOVE teaching! It is really hard some days to physically get there but when I do those kids keep my mind off of things and let me look at life through their eyes. I wouldn't do anything else.

I never even imagined being a teacher other than when playing teacher as a kid, but if I do decide to finish my degree it will be in special ed : ) I feel energy from these kids and, for the most part, feel happy with them, too. I guess needed.... and I need to be needed.
You can do this. It won't be instant. Have you seen an endocrinologist? My thyroid results were really weird when I first started having problems (both hyper and hypo) but there were no endo's in Alaska. Once we got here I started trying some and the first couple were worthless for me. I love the one I have now. He use to be a chemical engineer so really understands things that way. He also listens and prescribes bio-identical hormones. He actually asked ME questions about mercury and will call me back personally. My kind of Doctor! Maybe it wouldn't hurt to look into hormonal issues that could've been brought on by the steroids, though. Those are powerful. You likely have.... I can remember the obsession of just wanting to know if I was pregnant after trying. I know it has to be an emotional roller coaster to have been through what you have been... We do have to have respect for mercury, too. Its power.... But I admire your spirit. Keep on keeping on. You're going to have a lot of ups and downs with this too. That is what these forums are for. : )

Thanks - yes I am on thyroid meds. The holisitic doc I saw who diagnosed me gave me them. My thyroid isn't horrible but it was a little off. It's an organic supplement so it's not that bad. It never seemed to do too much but my thyroid is not .57. I'm doing this totally solo - no docs. The last one screwed me up for awhile with his inproper chelation. I mobilized a lot of mercury after 5 DMPS IVS and using oral DMSA. I thought I was going to jump out of a window. I guess the hardest part as I was telling my mom last night is that . . . people don't understand this. I mean you can't just tell someone - "I have mercury poisoning". People don't know what this is - it's not well understood YET but the more people who get it the more it will be. I try to educate people too so that my suffering isn't in vein. I just keep praying that some day . . . all of my mercury issues will correct themselves - I know it will take chelation but I just look forward to this time next year when I will be on the other side . . . the healthy side . . .the feel good every day side . . the not thinking of mercury side . . . the get on with my life side. Time and patience.
