That parasite cleanse seems rather standard, wormwood, black walnut, and cloves. Is that kit for one month, or just 2 weeks? Some parasite cleanses add a number of other herbs as well such as quassia, and perhaps a tiny bit of male fern. Some cleanses like humaworm add many other herbs. If you do just the 3 herb parasite cleanse, then I suggest that you also eat plenty of raw garlic while doing it. Some well like cleanses sold in the US are Humaworm, Kroeger Wormwood Combination, and Paragone. I don't know if they are available in the UK.

thats an 8 day cleanse

Only 8 days? Imo that is not long enough. Imo a month is much better. A shorter cleanse may be much less likely to kill all the parasites larvae, and eggs present. Having more than the basic three herbs might be helpful. Imo raw garlic is the best thing you can add to those three.

Hey JK,

I had the 2 cloves of garlic and then one yesterday and then started getting...uh...sulfuric emittances.... : ) Is that die off? I have been so bloated. I felt better immediately but maybe I had too much... I couldn't sleep last night and had to work so didn't go back to sleep after waking up at 1:00 and then 3:45 when I just got up cause I had to get up at 6:00. (Full moon - not normally this bad....) but now I'm feeling sick again cause my resistance is down. Not sure I can handle the side effects - maybe I threw myself into a full throttle cleansing state??? Any words of wisdom?

"sulfuric emittances.... "

What do you mean by that? Flatulence? Die off is more like muscle ache, fatigue, feeling run down, etc. Garlic kills candida, parasites, and harmful bacteria. One shouldn't eat too much at once though, and should not eat it on an empty stomach. One should drink plenty of water with it. They say that parasites are much more active during the full moon. It seems like most people here have had parasites at one time or another. I guess having mercury poisoning and candida makes one much more susceptible to parasites.

Yah - I felt it a little indelicate to say.... But I do also have the other symptoms....Oh that makes sense about the full moon. Everything is more active...and I always hurt worse then. I'm seeing the connection here... May I ask what too much is? Just take it slow with it or try and see how you react? I'd say I'm overly sulfuric right now.

Flatulence is part of die off/healing. I have had this many times, even just with the candida diet alone. It's embarrassing I know, but it's just the way it is sometimes. I wouldn't overdo the garlic, you can get enough die off from the diet without going overboard on antifungals.

Just my opinion.

I appreciate that Bex... I just don't like feeling like a rotten egg.. : )

I used the garlic as an antibiotic, but think I just way overdid it too fast. Did that with trying to chelate, too. I have to keep things in perspective similar to Mercuryfreeme : )

Is the candida diet basically very low carb (or zero)?

Yes - when I was eating the raw garlic or even taking supplements I was not very pleasant to be around. Passing gas that smells like garlic, breath with garlic, and BMs smelling of garlic - and having a sulfur reaction in the toilet. At first I wasn't sure if it was the sulfur or the mercury making the chemical reaction but when I stopped the garlic it isn't as bad - unless the garlic was pulling the mercury out. I'm not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about - it's like when alka seltzer fizzes. Garlic for me RIGHT now I think is too much. At times I think about all my body has been through - years and years of abuse, meds, treatments, surgeries, and poisoning - and I think I am actually doing pretty good - even though I don't feel that good I have to respect what my body is doing right now and what I am asking it to do. I am 9 days post removal, doing a parasite cleanse, taking my supplements, castor oil packs, and doing sauna treatments. I feel die off happening and I also feel mercury dumping - especially in my jaw. I always grinding but lately I know it is worse - I have a constant headache and at times pain in my jaw, teeth and cheeks. I begin to think :oh no I thought I was doing the right thing by getting my amalgams out and now I feel worse" but then I quickly remember what Bex said about the body now focusing on healing itself rather than just staying afloat. I know this is a process so has everyone's experience been that after removal you feel crappy then start to feel better then it is time to chelate then you dump again then start to feel better and this keeps happening but each time the better part gets better and longer. Just wondering what to expect - even though everyone is different. Actually, does anyone has a crystal ball to tell me when I will have a good day? That's what I really want to know. Thanks smile

I have been hoping for good days ever since the end of February when I had my last amalgams replaced. Since I had 25 amalgams, I guess I need to realize that my body won't heal quickly. I have had many problems though and realize I need to feel worse before feeling better. I am still not ready to begin chelation again. I need to fight the candida and/or parasites some more first. I realize that doing chelation when I am not in good shape is likely to make me crash, so it is better to postpone chelation until I am up to it, and take it slower this time(just 25 mg of ALA at a time rather than 50). I have lost plenty of weight on a low carb diet even though I have been eating plenty of nuts(if I hadn't eaten the nuts I would be emaciated now). i need to stabilize my weight and not lose much more. I am at a proper weight and don't want to become underweight. For most of my life I was overweight.

Just remember if you hadn't gotten the amalgams out your future would've been much worse. I know of some older ladies who have MS, alzeimers, cancer. You have hope of not coming to that. You've taken control. Take it slow.

JK98, you have inspired me - I thought I good through this all with minimial diet changes but after much thought I realize that if I want to be healthy - with I so desparately want - then I need to do everything i can to get healthy. I had done the candida diet very strictly 4 or 5 years ago and lost tons of weight and my family made me stop because I was emaciated. I did not use antifungals at the time and I didn't feel any better on the diet. Since getting my amalgams out I did clean up my diet some - no raw sugar, coffee, soda, ice cream, junk but I still had some sugar like fruit juice, vitamin water, fruits, condiments. Today, I feel horrible and realize that I am probably just constantly going through die off symptoms because what I am eating - sugarwise - is being killed off by the herbs (even though it is parasite it has a lot of candida killers too) thus causing constant die off. I will never get better at this rate so . . . as of 6:00 pm EST on 8/16/08 I am officially eating RIGHT. I don't want to be paranoid about it because I have severe OCD (mercury related) and can go overboard but I need to be much more conscious about it and eliminate the fruit juice and fruits - I think I can have granny smith apples though. Right? We'll see what happens.

No insult taken - I am not in denial about it. As a teacher, it is sometimes a good trait - I am SO organized everyone is jealous. It wasn't until last year that I realized it greatly affects my life. It causes tons of anxiety if things are not so and also causes racing mind. I have to mull over everything constantly. Not good when you have health problems - and of course the stress of it adds to it more. But yes, i have been told by many that I am very anal. My principal once asked me if I had a label for my label maker. LOL smile

I suggest that you cut out all fruit until after you get the candida under control. As for the parasite/candida cleanse, try to make sure that after you eat there is antiprasitic and antifungal herbs mixed with the food you ate. That is how to get the parasites and candida. Don't let them feed without getting herbs that are toxic to them. When going on a low carb diet, if you don't want to lose any weight, then you need to substitute the carb calories you used to eat with other calories, and to take in enough fiber. I chose nuts for this. I also increased my intake of low carb vegetables to make up for the fiber I would have gotten from fruits. While certain fruits can help combat certain parasites, they also cause candida growth so aren't really worth eating while having candida issues. Are you still taking two B100 pills a day? I would never use a B100. I take a B50 or half a B50 at a time(2 or 3 times a day). I am focusing more on ginger now. I am using ginger oil though, not fresh ginger. Perhaps sometime I might start eating raw ginger. The ginger oil seems more convenient for now. I take it with cinnamon, pepperment, and oregano oil. I stopped taking the clove oil, as I was getting some symptoms that I think may have been from it. I was on the clove oil for 5 weeks. i was just using a very small amount of it. Perhaps the reaction was some sort of die off reaction, but the symptoms were weird(I don't want to discuss them), and I want to see if they go away being off the clove oil for a while. Zinc and vitamin A are very important. Don't just take beta corotene though, take some fully formed vitamin A(not too much though-perhaps 10K units a day?).
Also don't forget to take enough vitamin D, especially in the winter when you don't get much sunlight.

Hi mercuryfree, just about the "natural sugars" (high carb foods). They can certainly be as bad as typical sugar. For me, I cannot not have any fruit, any grain (even non gluten), any corn, carrots, peas, beans, potatoes, any milk etc. All of those had to be eliminated, or I would get continual die off symptoms, which is like being constantly toxic.

For a serious candida diet. Safe foods (at least for me) appear to be eggs (free range a must), meat/chicken (free range if possible), low carb vegetables, nuts (almonds and brazil appear to be the best for candida), raw seeds (pumpkin and sunflower), acidophilus sugar free yoghurt, herbal tea (black tea maybe ok too). Healthy fats are good also - butter (in cooking and/or on food), extra virgin olive oil (in salads), flaxseed oil and fish oil (mercury free).

Eliminate toxic plant/vegetable oils like canola, soy, etc. The only vegetable oil that is apparently fit for human consumption is olive oil.

Coconut oil is ok too, apparently very beneficial, though I find it produces too much die off which is often ongoing. I skipped it.

As "tomatoes" are often classified as a "fruit" then that, plus lemons is the ONLY fruit allowed. The rest will feed candida, if you have a pretty stubborn case of it and a very low immunity.

I know I've repeated this so many times on this forum, but if other people's memory is as bad as mine, then repeating it may help. It can give you an idea of the type of diet that maybe best for yeast, as I have been there for years now and with a stubborn viral type infection, I've had to get this strict with my diet. I did not used to have to be THIS strict and once only had to eliminate obvious sugar and wheat/gluten and yeast. That was it. I could eat fruit, non gluten grain and high carbohydrate vegetables. I wish I could do that now, but not since this infection.

The candida diet is low carb. There is no such thing as a zero carb diet, since even low carb foods have some carbohydrates. A diet too low in carbohydrates would be dangerous anyway, as one needs at least some carbohydrates. The difference is that the carbs in a candida diet are more complex carbs, like the carbs in nuts or the carbs in meat, and avoidance of foods that have much sugar or starchy carbohydrates.

Yep, which is why a person can do just fine existing on this diet and do well healthwise. The body gets more than enough energy out of these foods (even meat). In fact Dr Weston Price has studied cultures around the world and many of them are big meat eaters and are excellent specimens. You only have to view the studies and photographs of how people are when they stick to natural foods.

Ideally, I would be eating some grains, fruit, honey, potatoes etc in my diet, but because of my condition, I cannot do so. Oridinary these foods would be healthy in limited amounts, but I cannot even have them in low doses! Candida does pretty well on them, as it does any sweet foods and isn't particularly fussy, though of course they are certainly better options than straight sugar foods, white flour, gluten etc.

Fuggles, I just checked the website again. It doesn't say how long the cleanse takes, but it is 240 capsules plus 50 ml liquid, so it is probably not 8 days, but 30 days(at 30 days that would be 8 capsules a day plus the liquid. If it was just 8 days, that would be 30 capsules a day, plus the liquid(I doubt any cleans would use that many).

JK98 & Bex - Thanks for the info. I am not taking 2 B100s anymore - thanks to your advice. I cut B50s in half and take them 3x day - so that's a B75 if you will. I think I am very sensitive to the herbs and need very low doses on this cleanse. I have a lot of die off - like I said I really didn't change my diet that much until today and I still had die off every day. I was on half the dose and today only took half of the half to see if it helped the die off. It didn't help die off but I am still passing things. I must be very toxic with parasites and didn't even know it. I think I will stay on this even reduced dose for a couple of days. Too much die off is not good on the body either. It will still be killing stuff but I'll give my body some time to catch up on the elimination. Today - Ihad about 4 good BM - thanks to some peppermint tea! LOVE IT - Thanks JK98. It the tea also an antiparasitic?

You used peppermint tea, not licorice tea? Licorice tea is known to be a mild laxative, but peppermint isn't known for that. Peppermint has many positive effects though, including being anticandidal and antiparasitic. My favorite tea is the Yogi Egyptian Licorice Tea. It has Licorice Root,Cinnamon,Orange Peel,Ginger Root,Cardamom Seed,Black Pepper,Clove. These are all antifungal, and most are antiparasitic. The tea tastes great.I like the way licorice root also helps my mood. I used to take St. John's Wort for that, however I became sensitive to it.

I guess if you are still releasing parasites even at 1/4 dosage then it is still doing its job. Perhaps when you stop seeing parates, you could increase the dosage back up to 1/2 dosage? The full dosage is probably calculated for someone around 150 pounds or so, and if you are closer to 100 pounds than 150 pounds then a full dosage would be quite a bit much anyway.

I take herbs as teas, as essential oils, and some as capsules or tablets of tea. It is a pity to take licorice root as a capsule, since it tastes so good! Peppermint tea also tastes good. I don't mind the taste of chamomile.

Yes I looked it up and peppermint tea is also a mild laxative - I love it! It definetly helped me with my bowels - I had about 3 cups yesterday though. I really, really like it. I was craving too after having one cup on Friday. Yes, the cleanse I am thinking is very strong for me - it is capsules and tincture. I'm thinking I could use either one or the other - probably the tincture which is wormwood, clove, and black walnut hull (I think that's what it is called). Yesterday I took 2 capsules (recommended half dose is 3) and 10 drops (recommended dose is 21 day - 7 3xday). I still was passing parasites and having horrible die off. I'm still wondering if symptoms are die off or mercury - I think I shouldn't waited a little bit on the cleanse and let my body do its thing first. I always do too much and then never know what is working or what is hurting. It's the story of my life!

You don't want to take too little at a time though, because then there is a chance you might make some parasites immune to it. While you may be shedding some parasites, you might not be shedding others, and making them immune. I was reading the Humaworm website. They claim that if one person in a houhold has parasites it is likely that the others do as well, and they suggest that everyone living there do a parasite cleanse. I was looking at the Paragone formula. It has some interesting things in it, however I don't like the fact it has castor bean, and cascara sagrada(buckthorn) While some still like castor oil as an antiparasitic, some think it has toxicity and should be avoided. It is hard for me to find a formula with many ingrdients though, and not have objections to at least one ingredient in there. Of course I could take each herb separately, but to get a cleanse with many herbs this would be annoying to do.

Herbs do work synergistically, too. (sp?)

Thanks to you guys I have taken the plunge. Didn't take it first thing this morning, but I did take some Clear today. Not first thing. It was between meals, though. I didn't take it cause I have to already wait for thyroid meds in the morning (to eat). This stuff by Awareness Corp., has Greenhull black walnut, cloves, pumpkin seed, gentian root, hyssop, black seed, cramp bark, peppermint leaf, thyme leaf, fennel and grapefruit seed. I know from using it before, it is good stuff! I can taste the cloves : ) Also after a bit still without eating caught MFM's message the the new person, Mercuree telling her to take algin which made me think of it and I popped 4 capsules. I'm proud of myself for finally making a move! We'll see how it goes.... I have a hard time with consistency if I get busy. But I've been drilling it into my head. I feel so crappy all the time I figure, what the heck. Besides - seeing Worm Face on Youtube last night at someone's suggestion was motivating.... That guy is in a 3rd world country, no doubt. I've been to Korea. When i was there the way they sold their poultry, etc., was not safe. They literally had barrels of maggots for some reason, too. We were warned not to eat on the Korean economy....only on post.

"JK98 - I have not been taking some antifungal/parasite herbal combinations I have because you have to take them on an empty stomach. So this isn't the case?? That would be nice!"

Is that what they say? I would think the right way to take them is with food, so the herbs mix with the food, and the parasites can't eat without getting the herbs. I believe my parasite cleanses said take just before meals or with meals for the capsules, and a few minutes(imo perhaps 20-30?) after meals for the liquids. I also decided to eat raw garlic and take olive leaf extract with a snack when it wasn't time for a parasite cleanse dose. If the parasites can't eat without getting herbs that are toxic to them, then imo you should be able to beat them. Many parasites are vulnerable to garlic, ginger, and olive leaf extract, and these have low toxicity, so you can take these as often as needed during or between parasite cleanses.
Ginger oil may also be effective at killing some parasite eggs. While you have to be very careful about how much clove oil you use(clove oil is used to fight parasite eggs) ginger oil is MUCH less toxic(does it even have any toxicity? I guess in huge doses it does, but i guess it is probably very safe up to 2/3 an ml per day spread over 3 doses?). Many suggest using clove oil at 1/3 an ml or less per day spread out over 3 doses, and even then perhaps for not more than a month at a time? Then a month or two off before restarting?).

The formula I take does say to take on an empty stomach....actually maybe it was the distributor I bought it from that told me that. I'll go read it). It was supposed to be more effective that way for some reason.

Did you see my question on how you know if you pass parasites? I realize it would vary, but could they look like little white floaties?

There are photos of many parasites on the curezone website. Many parasites are microscopic though. other parasites might look similar to the remains of bits of food. If you see something strange looking in the toilet that you haven't seen before, and doesn't seem to resemble anything you ate, then there is a good chance that it could be a parasite. White things floating might be eggsacks of parasites. It is really hard to say. If you see something similar on curezone you have your answer. If not, you could post a photo of it there. If it is parasitic, then it would be good to identify what parasite.

This is from the Humaworm website. humaworm is an anriparasitic formula in capsules.

"Take your HUMAWORM at least 30 minutes before meals - this will ensure that the parasites will get a good belly full of parasite killing herbs instead of your good nutrition!"

Kroeger Wormwood Combination says on it to take 6 capsules a day, 2 before each meal. The liquid parasite formula I have says to take it 3x a day, but doesn't specify when. Not long before a meal for capsules, and perhaps 20 minutes after a meal for liquid formulas(one would want the liquid formula to pass into the small intestine mised with food, and not leave the stomach with the very liquid contents that leaves the stomach very early after the meal? I am guessing about the time to take a liquid. Taking capsules just before a meal or perhaps up to half an hour before if you don't plan to drink plenty of liquid just before the meal makes sense. I took capsules just before starting to eat.

Imo taking it just before a meal or perhaps up to half an hour before if it is capsules, and around 20 minutes after the meal for a liquid makes sense. You want the parasites to be getting the herbs while trying to feed. If you take a liquid too early, it will pass through your stomach quickly, then the parasites might not be exposed to it for very long. Taking capsules long before a meal might also not be so effective, especially if you drink plenty of liquid before the meal, and the herbs don't mix with the food in your stomach many hours later. That is my opinion. You can search the web for other opinions.

I took Dr. Natura's Colonix cleanse a few years ago. This was before I realized I had mercury poisoning, so I'm not sure if it's mercury friendly or not. My symptoms weren't nearly as bad back then and my hair wasn't falling out either.

The first time through the cleanse was crazy and I certainly rid my body of parasites. This is the website. http://www.drnatura.com/
I DO NOT recommend clicking on the detox pictures if you get grossed out easily.

Yeah I have had my thyroid checked and it always came back great. My T4 and T3 levels were actually good. This was according to a naturopath, so I trust him a bit more when reading lab results.

The type of hair loss I have is an autoimmune disorder. It is called Alopecia Areata. This is when you lose large patches of hair all at once. Then the spot begins to grow over time (usually). Some women lose all of their hair. I don't want to be one of those women if you know what I mean. I want to get better, rather than just live with bald spots. This hair loss forum I post at is a joke. It's all about (((HUGS))) and offers no real solutions. They think taking prozac and paxil is the way to go... Remind me why I even waste my time on there again? LOL I'm probably going to get banned soon because of my views on vaccines and amalgam fillings. Oh well!

Here is a link to one of my blog posts which shows pictures of what I have going on.

My dermatologist says that mercury and heavy metals would never cause this. She completely threw out the idea of mercury poisoning. I think she is full of ....garbage. My hair started to fall out right around when I just couldn't handle myself anymore. This is no coincidence in my opinion.

Sorry to derail the thread...

I know what alopecia is. Dog gone...that's rough. I have a lot of hair, but my grandmother had thin hair. She was 1/4 Indian and it was course. I know what you mean about those kind of websites. My experience has been they're either just support groups or strictly informational. I like kind of knowing who I'm talking to so tend to derail a lot.... (Sorry folks!) It's ok.... : )

I hope you find your answers and that the mercury is it. I have autoimmune issues, too, although it appears to only be affecting my thyroid at this point. At one time they couldn't figure out if I was hypothyroid or hyper... My T4 was low but my TSH was really low... Its supposed to be one or the other. I'm more normalized now for some reason. I have a book on autoimmune issues. I gather it comes from foreign chemicals on a cellular level (mercury or toxins) that the body doesn't recognize as natural/friendly. I told a friend with Lupus once that she could rid herself of Lupus by detoxing her liver (had just read a book on that) and she didn't like that but also turned out to be bi-polar. I wasn't belittling her condition or blaming her but guess it sounded like I was. Later a friend who I use to love to swap natural remedies with went too far with someone who had cancer and tried to tell her how to detox. She meant well, but with what they were going through she didn't want to hear that. This lady was like a bull in a china shop, though, already. The one with cancer actually kicked it with conventional means after going through hell...but now it has shown up again about 8 years later. That happens.... You really do need to make serious permanent lifestyle changes. Actually, Modifilan which is a super seaweed was developed for victims of Chernobyl and I've known of folks who swore by it. I used it for a while - my detox method of choice. But need to get serious. I posted on the toothpaste issue I wish I could get some DMPS. Maybe I could talk my endocronologist into that.....(A prescription...) He gives me biodentical female hormones.

I did a really quick check into what a Low TSH and low T4 means and this website says it is a pituitary problem. This would be considered secondary hypothyroidism.

http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/t4/test.html#what
If that is the case, then that makes perfect sense. Mercury loves to enter the pituitary.

Believe it not, but my pituitary does not function properly either. I have diabetes insipidus which causes my body to be unable to regulate water balance properly. I am constantly thirsty with frequent urination. No matter how much water I drink, I become dehydrated because my body is tossing it out. I take medication for this and it has helped me immensely.

Dr. Cutler actually discusses this in his book. People with mercury poisoning get partial diabetes insipidus from the mercury in the pituitary. I almost cried when I read that!

DMPS is much more expensive from what I have seen and I don't think insurance covers it. It is considered an experimental drug in the US and has not been approved by the FDA. I highly doubt an insurance company would cover an experimental drug.

I figured that out about the pituitary and hypothalamus because my sleep, etc. are so messed up, but no Doctor has ever told me that! (Oddly enough!) I was taking a glandular for that for a while and then asked someone at the Herb Shop to muscle test me and my body didn't seem to want it. Maybe I needed to take a break from it. It did seem to help me feel better for a while. But maybe that was what normalized my thyroid, too!!!!! Wow - that is a cool revelation I hadn't thought of! (you should be a Dr! : ) I don't think they know how to interpret such things well as a rule...or how to diagnose pituitary issues unless an obvious tumor or something. House Season 4 is out and I'm going to catch up. This season seems to have gotten a little strange, but I love that show! He gets into a lot of neat odd things and LOTS of parasites! (There - now back on topic : )

OMG!!! I just read that site!!! How weird! I'm going to show this to my endo! Thank you!!!!

Jeanie, YW. I hope the parasite cleanse helps you. Most parasite cleanses have at least the basic 3 herbs, wormwood, black walnut green hull extract, and clove. Some add other herbs such as quassia, or many other herbs. Eating raw garlic while doing a parasite cleanse will imo make it much more effective, as raw garlic is also very antiparasitic. You could also add other antiparasitic herbs like ginger and peppermint. I take ginger and peppermint in the form of a few drops of the essential oils mixed into a spoon of coconut oil.

JK, (Who/what is YW?) Thanks... I have eaten a clove of garlic the past couple of days cause I now have a cold. I think in eating healthier I'm sending myself into a mild cleansing crisis. Good for the long run, but hard while it happens. It takes insight into what is happening to the body to hang in there with it. I've been drinking the tea lately, too. Just wish i could sleep better.

YW=You're welcome.

For sleep problems, it is important to limit caffeine. I don't drink any coffee after noon, and drink just 2 cups in the morning. It is also important to get enough sunlight, and enough exercise. Don't go to bed unless you are tired, no matter what the clock says. Don't say I need 8 hours a day of sleep and try to force yourself to get it. When I tried to sleep more and didn't need it, I had a very hard time falling asleep the next day. A calcium, magnesium, or vitamin D deficiency may also be a cause of insomnia(some B vitamin deficiencies might also cause insomnia). I suggest that people take 2,000 units a day of vitamin D. Some doctors advise taking more than this, however many feel that 2,000 IU a day is the highest safe dosage to take on a long term basis without having blood levels monitored.

I agree with this. I didn't realize how much caffeine affected me until I started to drink less. I am more careful as to when I drink my last cup. I have been keeping it down to half a cup before 9am and it has helped so much. I do however get up every night to urinate, which interrupts my sleep.

I have been taking 5,000IU for a good 9 months almost every day. Like you said though, I wouldn't do this unless you are under a doctor's supervision. I just had some blood tests, so I will see what my levels are at now.

Checking vitamin D levels is pretty important. Mine were about 35, which isn't that great. My naturopath told me there was a patient of his who used a tanning bed every day. Her natural levels of vitamin D were 140! She was doing well though and her body was naturally producing it in the tanning bed. He thinks vitamin D levels should be on the upper limit of "normal".

I need to just move to a sunnier climate. Taking pills is getting old. haha

I don't drink coffee or soda. I may have chocolate here and there, but caffeine makes me too jittery. Even chocolate can affect my adrenals. However, I just started supplementing with D and have only been using 1000 iu. I'll start doubling that. TY : ) Didn't know there was a connection there. I'm trying it for lower back pain due to 3 bad discs... Russ had posted people with pain tended to be deficient. I have been taking b complex, too. But have to in the morning or even that is too energizing for me. Its hard being like this... Its like something is being overly stimulated in my endocrine system. You said you're diabetic Birdlady? I'm insulin resistant. Hoping to avoid that state. Just found out my sister is mildly diabetic... What do you know about the relationship with the pituitary gland there? Just not controlling the other stuff right? (To put is simply...I have a cold and feeling lazy and tired but still wired...drives me crazy. A "woman of few words" for me right now, though, cause I don't feel good).

To your first question, "You said you're diabetic Birdlady?" Yes. But NOT the type you are thinking of. I have the form of diabetes no one knows about. haha It is called diabetes insipidus. You get all the normal symptoms of diabetes mellitus except for 1 important thing and that is insulin resistance and glucose in the urine. That is what separates Diabetes Mellitus with Diabetes Insipidus.

This form of diabetes (in me at least-there are several types) is when your pituitary gland is not using anti-diuretic hormone properly. The anti-diuretic hormone is what controls how much you urinate, your hydration, and urine concentration. Whenever you have DI, your body doesn't do any of these properly. Severe cases of DI, people urinate up to 50 times a day. Thankfully mine isn't nearly that bad, but I could probably reach 10-15 times a day if it's warm out and I didn't take my medication. My blood pressure would be terrible too. If a person with DI (not medicated) stopped drinking water, they would go into shock very quickly depending upon how severe their DI is. Some people with DI can't even do the water deprivation test (12 hours of no water) to properly calculate how severe their case is.

Drinking water (even with my medication) is priority 1 in my life at the moment. If I go to the mall, store, grocery shopping, I have to make sure I have some water with me just in case I become really thirsty. You just reminded me to order a medical bracelet. If I am ever in a car accident, I could die if the EMT's don't know I have this condition. This form is more severe because NO ONE knows what it is when you tell them. That is very dangerous especially if they would start injecting me with insulin. "Oh she has diabetes". You see what I mean?

This is most likely all caused by mercury. Dr. Cutler talks about this in his book.

On to your other question. Yes I do love birds. hehe My love for birds started when my sister purchased two cockatiels about 13 years ago. At first I was REALLY scared of them, but learned to love them. Then one of them died and that is when I realized how much I enjoyed their company. Birds have different personalities just like we do and I love to see them interact with one another. I have 2 cockatiels, but sadly my husband is allergic to them! My sister now has them with her 4 cockatiels. They are one big happy family now. haha

I live in western PA where the sky is usually a dull gray. This summer has been unusually sunny, but winter is quickly approaching and it will be MONTHS of gloom.

I'm going to have to look into what you have since my pituitary is apparently also off. Can you point me in any directions?

I love cockateils... (sp??) They are so entertaining. I love watching the birds outside here, too.

We lived in AK 6 years before here in GA. BIG difference and I miss AK alot. Its so weird McCain chose the governor of AK to run with him for Vice Pres. My husband played for private parties for the previous Governor (Knowles...) up there all the time...We have some glasses with his name on them from the parties. She seems nice... Not sure what to think there.

I just looked up DI... Don't really think I have it, but I need to look into pituitary issues. It sounds like DI is not well understood..

A good website about DI is this one. There isn't much out there about it. And not all DI's are the same either, so it's tough to even find people with the same type as you.
http://diabetesinsipidus.org/

I have central diabetes insipidus. The cause of mine would be under the "idiopathic" section which accounts for more than 50% of DI cases. I wonder how many people in the idiopathic category has mercury poisoning like me. I have NO doubt at all mine is from mercury. Typically people with DI have it from birth, immediately following an accident or brain surgery. Mine just came out of no where when I was 17.

What makes my DI weird though is that not every day is bad. Some days I am totally normal. Other days I am really bad. This makes regulating my medication very difficult for me. I think this is what Dr. Cutler calls partial diabetes insipidus. My pituitary is working a little bit, but not all the time and certainly not at optimal levels. This makes me think other pituitary hormones aren't at optimal either, but I haven't had any others checked. There's just so many tests I could have done to further "prove" what I have, but I'm just ready to begin detoxing. Put this stuff in the past and finally live my life. laugh

These are your anterior pituitary hormones [TSH, FSH, LH,GH, PRL, ACTH] This is probably where your problem lies. You can click on each hormone to get a more in depth explanation.
http://www.elp.manchester.ac.uk/pub_projects/2000/mnby6kas/anterior.htm

These are your posterior pituitary hormones [oxytocin, vasopressin(ADH)]. This is where my problem lies.

Birdlady,

Doctors I've seen haven't had any idea how to check the pituitary unless I never gave enough indication to them to look into it. I have discussed it with my endocrinologist...but not in depth and it got lost along with other issues I definitely have, but I had no basis of knowledge about it myself so this helps tremendously.

With the posterior....I've been pregnant 3 times - one of those times I miscarried, but the other two term pregnancies with my girls I fizzed out when I started contractions. Maybe I'm getting oxytocin mixed up with the breastfeeding hormone??? (Actually just read the sites and it affects both contractions and breastfeeding with milk expulsion). Anyway - had to be given ptosin (I think that is what is what called - also had premature contractions with my second so was given something for that to stop contractions but then, still, fizzed out when it was time after my water broke) to fully bring on contractions. I did breastfeed fine, though. I had more milk the first baby...but breastfed both past a year. With delivery, though, I would start to dilate and then just stop progressing without the medication. Makes me wonder.

I also need a water pill for my BP.... Obviously with the anterior I have thyroid issues and just read up on the rest...

Oh my goodness..... I see my endo in about 2 weeks and I'm going to print this up and get some dialogue going on all this because I have adrenal issues, too. And sleep issues....and temperature issues....etc. etc. etc. I have suspected this for years, but didn't know where to look for info because from what I understood, it wasn't very understood. Thank you so much Birdlady..... I need to be chelating, too. Russ said somewhere that when you have aluminum with mercury it makes the mercury effects worse by 100. I need to drag out my tests or get some new ones. And of course I use deodorant/antiperspirants. I live in Georgia!

I'm getting slim again for some reason.... And don't seem to have any strength. I am tall, (well - average - 5'6 1/4) but not really big boned. One chiropractor told my my bones were very "fine and delicate" whatever the heck that means. I hope I'm not losing bone density. You'd think someone would be looking into that.

Wow....

Sorry.....I've been so enthralled with this new information I didn't even bring up what it must be like for you BL. Is it like you can't hold water in your system? You should definitely get a medical bracelet. Does your medication help you hold onto your water?? Is your blood glucose also affected??

I'm very grateful to have met you. Please keep me posted on how you are doing. Sounds like we have a lot in common in some ways at least. I guess the only way to really treat this is to chelate if the mercury is causing it. Well...not the only way to treat, but the only way to possibly heal and not get worse. For all of us...

Well from what I have read, diagnosing pituitary problems is very difficult unless your pituitary isn't working at all or working way too much. Conventional medicine is terrible at diagnosing people within the gray area and most people operate in the gray area. I'm thankful to have found a doctor that is really good, but he's really far away from you. haha

If you don't have Dr. Cutler's book, I recommend grabbing a copy. There is so much information jammed in here and I quite often list off page numbers. =) A lot of my info has come from his book. Some symptoms I have, I never knew were related to mercury poisoning. You will likely find the same.

On pages 113-114 in the book, he talks a lot about the pituitary. Your adrenal problems may not lie with the adrenals themselves, but with the pituitary producing inadequate ACTH when responding to stress.

Let's say your doctor does finally do tests to see what is wrong, if your pituitary or hypothalamus isn't working right then finding the appropriate dosage will be VERY difficult. Instead of treating the 2nd in command like a thyroid, you are trying to treat the brains of the operation. It will be tough to know exactly what you need and when. For me some days I take 1 spray and know it was too much. Others I need 2 sprays. You'll have to play with dosages and see how you feel. Treat the person not the lab work as they say.

Insomnia could be caused by a lot of things, but it is listed in the book as one of the first physical symptoms of mercury poisoning (page 26).

I am glad I can help you at least begin to do a more thorough investigation. Most people don't like to hear my thoughts, research or advice, so I am very thankful for you. Not many people have an open mind these days. They are so set in their ways, they don't want to hear anything new.

The hair loss forum basically banned me from posting on there. I guess talking about mercury toxicity wasn't allowed. I was saying that vaccines can have mercury in them and they didn't like that. Oh well those ladies won't have hair and mine will grow back completely. They must love their miserable lives.

Yes that is it exactly. My body just won't hold water without the medication. With the medication my urination is slowed down drastically and my thirst is much better. My blood glucose is not affected whatsoever. I have never had any problems with that, but I think watching what I eat helps. You have to avoid high fructose corn syrup at all cost. That stuff totally messes up glucose levels.

I threw out my aluminum based deodorants a few years ago. It's hard finding something that works now, but I make due. There are a lot of different deodorants at health food stores, but you'll probably need to try a handful until you find one you like.

I'm going to stop what I am doing right now and order a medical bracelet. This is long overdue.

Thanks Jeanie for listening to me. I can be a little long winded when I get going. lol

Birdlady,

I tried to PM you to give you my private email should I ever not be on here. Its under the user list... (You're over limit on there?)

Anyway, your condition is fascinating to me. I think you have a better grasp on what is really going on with a lot of us. I do have Andy's book and have for about 8 years give or take. I need to look it over again, though. (Those pages in particular, thank you!) I was obsessed with this issue when I first found out about it, but got busy and came on this list to get motivated to work on it again. You kind of forget over time when you don't keep learning about it. There has been progress in the subject since then, too.

Now that I think about it, I think the gray issue has been the problem. I have talked to my endo about it but only found a good one about 4 years ago. He did run some tests, but whatever he did order came back ok. And I'd been using glandulars for my pituitary, so if it was there, I was fixing it. Someone before had brought up the issue before, too, due to my inconsistent thyroid issues, but no one seemed to know what to do about it.

I wouldn't feel bad about the hair loss group. People don't want to take responsibility, I'm afraid, for their own issues sometimes. They take on more a "victim" role. I would rather feel I have some control over an issue myself. Of course I am not taking control if not chelating... or detoxing. And I need to get back to that.

That is good you are getting the medical ID bracelet. : )

I thought I'd bump this up to let people know my vitamin D levels are still horrible after taking 5,000 IU a day.

It went up a whopping 7 points in over a year.
Now I am at 38 and my doctor wants me at 60 or higher.

Yes it was D-3.

Well I live in western PA. We get 59 sunny days a year. This year has been much more sunny than usual. I have a bunch of flowers I watered daily so I got some sun each day. I did not lay out this year though.

My doctor says that he sees a lot of people like this. So now I am on 10,000 IU 2 days a week. On the other days I am just taking 5,000 IU. I'll get my levels checked in a few months and see what happens then.

I used to live in Pittsburgh 2 years ago... I now live in Southern California. The sun here is definitely way more intense...and I would say we are overcast less than %10 of the year. What a difference.

How much did it cost you to get your D levels tested?

Well I have insurance that covers my blood work. However my itemized bill hasn't come in the mail yet. My guess would be about $70. You have to make sure you get 25 hydroxy vitamin D tested. I have read doctors can test for the wrong one which won't tell you anything.

I can't stand Pittsburgh...Oh my I want to move. Yeah Socal is much different than Pittsburgh. hahah!

Thanks for this! Very good points. Maybe that is why I haven't been able to handle cleanses so well this past decade. Been into doing them for ouch...going on 30 years. (roughly : )

59 sunny days a year? We get more than that in summertime ALONE! WOW I would really go over the edge there, on top of mercury and chemtrails, candida etc. Aren't you depressed? I know we all have depression in here from our ills, but the sunshine helps out so much!

In Sanskrit, tulsi means literally "the incomparable one" and has been revered since ancient times. Tulsi, the holy basil, is said to have grown at the site of Christ’s crucifixion and is associated with St. Basil’s feast.
