I don't like Denver (where my parents and sister live) but it's the only part of the US I tend to see these days because my parents pay for us to fly over there occasionally.

I was born in St. Louis and lived in Lake St. Louis. I liked Missouri much more than NE or CO.

When I was 18, I got my personal details published in Doctor Who magazine, and had about 20 pen-pals across the commonwealth for a while. My current husband was one. A few years later I was trying to arrange a university exchange trip to Germany, as I was trying to learn German, and ended up talking to my history prof who had been to the UK on a scholarship and was trying to make ties with universities there. Leicester Uni was one, and I said I wouldn't mind going there because I had a friend there. We dated while I was here and when I went back to the US, I decided to return to the UK after I graduated that spring.

Before you say it's romantic, I've been through 4 years of illness so far, with relentless depression, emotional numbness, zero libido, and all the associated worries, so at the moment I'm just trying to hold things together. Good news is that with adrenal support and continuing raises of thyroid med, I'm starting to feel better now.

No plans to go to the US, we're quite settled here. Despite prices of everything rising left right and centre.
