Okay so I got all of amalgams done but now I am wondering about cavitations. How do I know if I have any? I got my wisdom teeth out years ago and 2 teeth pulled when I got braces but then all of my other teeth moved when they were pulled. I guess I have to ask my dentist to look for cavitations where my wisdom teeth were - are there always cavitations where wisdom teeth were? Will having cavitations hinder me from making any mercury progress? Can I still chelate with them in? Do they hurt coming out? HELP!

Most of us have had teeth out. Many people have cavitations, but they may not cause issues. It depends on whether immunity is able to keep the bacteria localised (in place) or whether it can't and it can become systemic.

Cavitations are a hole in the jawbone where bone growth has failed to grow over the area. This can be caused by a dentist leaving the periodontal ligament in place (the ligament that was attached to the tooth, kind of like an umbilical cord) and/or it might also occur from the use of vaso constrictors in local anaesthetics (which seek to increase numbing and restrict blood supply/circulation to the area). Lack of blood circulation, may then reduce healthy bone growth later on. Either way, ligaments/or vaso constrictors hinder it.

Because there is a hole there, bacteria can form (potent gram negative bacteria), which is a challenge on the immune system. But again, it maybe held at bay and may not cause symptoms.

It is hard to know whether you have cavitations and whether they are the culprits, or part of the problem or not. Difficult to tell. They 'can" show up on xrays/bone scans, but they are hard to detect and are often called "hidden cavitations" for this reason. They also may show no sign at all of outward swelling/pain. Sometimes if you pinch the area, you may feel deep pressure/pain that "may' indicate a problem.

For a dentist to detect them on panoramic xray, he needs to be very experienced to do so. Even then, some may only have a wee hole, but still contain bad bacteria. I think I maybe one of them!!! I got VERY VERY ill after I had one of my wisdom teeth out in 2004. Though yes I had the virus, hwich lowered my immunity substantially (which followed on from years of mercury, which probably set me up for the virus). I think the virus then set me up for developing cavitation, or at least becoming suseptible to the bacteria, which I maynot have normally had issues with.

This is why my diet and everything has to be spot on, or I cease to function properly.
