Reality is not kind, it does not conform to anyone's wishes.
Reality is what it is. Reality may well agree with what someone has been told or had passed down to them, or it may turn out out to oppose/contradict it. Some people hate their reality, others love their reality. I very much doubt that the wish for ownership over it or putting it in a box, will do anything to change it. :chiefwiggum:
Curiously, ignoring evidence does not make it go away. Nor does your opinion necessarily reflect the opinions of others.
one could also respond: Curiously, repeating words of "evidence" and "reality" may not make it so....nor does your opinion necessarily reflect the opinions of others. You're convinced (or at least hoping we think so) that you have evidence and totally confident of that? Then the info should be self evident, rather than requiring chants to prop it up. Do you not agree?
"the lady doth protesteth too much methinks"(or man)

Trying to convince a person of something that the content itself may not be carrying off on its own "may" or "may not" account for why there is the ongoing need to call out "evidence" and "reality"? People aren't stupid, after awhile they may start to read for themselves and and come to their own conclusions. I would hope so.
Ongoing chants of "it won't make reality go away" etc may work for awhile, may look good, but after a time, it "may" start to come across as insecurity clothed in bravado. Even if that isn't so.
The information/content should be able to stand on its own and be self evident without the need for ongoing cheerleading commentaries. Surely presenting ones side of the argument, regardless of whether they think it's REALITY or not, should eventually be left to speak for itself?
Just an opinion. We could all be accused of doing a bit of that I know.
