I can't find any information about whether this would be a good idea or not. I am taking 6 drops 3 times a day. I am wondering if I should decrease this a bit and keep taking it long term, or perhaps substitute it with oregano oil, or perhaps take both?

I decided to cut back on the clove oil to 4 or 5 drops 3 times a day and add oil of oregano(one drop pure or 2 drops diluted) 6 to 10 times a day mixed well in 2 ounces of water. Later I might cut back on the oregano oil to 3 or 4 times a day. I started taking the oregano oil today. Already my gums are feeling better.

JK98, what type of clove oil do you use? Is it 100% pure indilluted clove oil? We don't have herb oils for internal use here in Poland per se, but there is one company that produces hight quality undilluted essential oils for aromatherapy and they have lots of certificates for purity and dont know if to use it.
so please let me know on what type of oil u using. thx

I am using pure clove oil. it is Now brand, which is made using steam distillation and no chemicals. It is only around $6 for an ounce here. Most essential oils say on the bottle for aromatherapy use, as they can be dangerous if used improperly for internal use(so I guess the companies want to protect themselves for legal reasons. The Now clove oil bottle says something like- For aromatherapy use. For other uses see an aromatherapy book for dilution instructions. )For internal use they must be diluted properly, and only taken in very small amounts. For clove oil the recommended internal use is less than 5 drops well mixed in 2-4 ounces of water 3 or less times a day. One website recommends using up to 3 drops 3 times a day. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/anti1.phpIf you decide to use essential oils internally, make sure they are pure enough for internal use(ie. not made by extraction with toxic chemicals), and that you are not taking too much of them.
