Yes, it's important to follow 7-day rules.

The cycle has to do with the fact that white blood cells go through what Huggins calls a "Changing of the guard" every 7 days. The implication of this is: If you receive an immune challange, 7 days later, the white blood cells that are equipped to deal with that particular type of response are regenerating and are particularly vulnerable. This cycle has noticeable effects even on the 14th and 21st days.

In short, make sure removal sessions don't fall on 7-day multiples, especially on the 21st day.
