Greetings all,
I've just taken the plunge and taken my first two of seven amalgams out. I feel just as I'd expected based on what I've been reading. Pretty awful.
I did exactly what had been suggested. A couple of days ago, I started taking algin (just arrived in the mail) and felt better than I had in years. Incredibly productive - obviously the peripheral mercury was being dealt to.
Today was the day for the first extractions. As suggested, I took 6 algin an hour before. Feeling fantastic, I went to the dentist. He was careful. Dental dam, AK (?) machine, face covered. As Russ suggested, I even put activated charcoal under my tongue - renewed for each amalgam, and then after the procedure for a couple of minutes. I took a big shower afterwards.
Felt fine for another hour. It's now been about four hours, and up until a few minutes ago, I felt as if I hadn't slept for a week. Serious brain fog, inability to balance, lethargy. I was getting seriously worried. About half an hour ago, I popped 5 more algin, 1000mg Vitamin C, and E with Selinium (thanks Laura), and am starting to feel slightly more normal.
Frustratingly, the dentist thought I was bizarre taking so much time with all of this. He really thought the charcoal was odd. Not surprisingly, he still places amalgams. I'm not sure what else I can do for the next four, except just grin an bear it.
Of course if anybody has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. I won't be beginning chelation till a couple of months after the final replacements.
Eric
