Hi There, I just found your forum this morning. I am interested in learning my way around and reading some of the posts here.
But I thought I’d in the meanwhile post one of my own.
I went to the dermatologist yesterday because a two-week old worsening rash. She said it might be contact dermatitis from gardening maybe......but she also mentioned Grover's disease as a possibility but has not yet taken measures to look for that. Right now I am using a topical steroid ointment as the first step.
Being a curious person.....I did research on Grover's disease and found connections re: Grover's to mercury in one's system. I believe I might have high mercury in my system because my adult daughter who is ill tested high for mercury and she must have gotten that in utero as she has no fillings and was not brought up on fish. So in utero HAD to come from me. But I still have not gotten myself tested however I will.
So need to get this checked and eventually get a biopsy for Grover's.
This rash.....I have a feeling it is more than something I contacted....it is not like poison ivy or something like that. It is more like bumps-in clusters here and there and then individual bumps in between.
My question is- has anyone here had a rash....I have had some mercury fillings removed...slowly but surely and intend to finish the job. My prior dentist denied mercury was bad for you....of course he would - he uses it unless you ask for an alternative. He uses NO safe method of removal. I now have a new dentist who uses safe methods of removal.
Also fish. I have been eating fish but will stop in case this recently acquired rash got triggered by me going over a threshold of mercury into my system- you know the straw that broke the camel's back.
Also I have chronic Lyme.....so my system is prone to straws that break camels backs.
Oh...one more thing....what is the most reliable way to test for mercury- blood? And what numbers would make one suspicious of high mercury levels. I am concerned about reference ranges...because sometimes they say "within normal range".....but what would be normal about having mercury in your system??
So again.....does anyone here have Grover's disease? A rash? Thank you. Foggy
