Hi Dudley, Andy isn't overly restrictive in the way he discusses exact amounts. He gives people a general idea of how much they can take and sometimes it varies. You can decide how much vitamin C suits you. 8 grams is a lot over the day, but some people may want to take that amount. You can tell if you're taking too much, you get loose bowel motions/diarrhoea. Then you need to back off and take a lower dose.

I think personally that about 1000 mg 3-4 times daily is more than adequate or even 500 mg 3-4 times daily. I do not think you need to over do it.

Sometimes there is contradictory statements in Andy's book that can get frustrating, but you get the general idea and take what best suits you. He says this also somewhere. It's not one hard fast rule as far as supplements and their dosing goes, but he does definitely feel certain ones need to be taken 3 - 4 times a day for effectiveness.

As far as the actual chelation protocol goes? That does not change as far as timing goes really. DMSA every 4 hours around the clock. ALA, every 3 hours around the clock. That is pretty much IT. The dosing? Depends on the person and how poisoned they are and how much they tolerate. IT can range from as low as 6 mg a dose, to 200 mg in some cases! (or a bit more). Most settle around 25 - 50 mg eventually. It may take a bit longer, but this is not a race and it's better to keep things safer and go a little bit slower sometimes. It's up to you and how much you are willing to put up with as far as side effects go.

When I first did this protocol years ago. I started at 50 mg of DMSA (every 4 hours) and to be honest, it was probably too high for me. I also did it for a full week on (one week on, one week off regime). Again, this was probably too much. Many people now have changed the protocol to a lower dose and lesser time on the round. E.g. 3 days on, 4 days off. Or 5 days on 5 days (or more) off. You can decide. But don't go longer than a week on because it is too stressful for the body. Both from disturbed sleep from waking every 4 hours at night, and also the minerals in the body too (chelation does that to you).

I found 25 mg more suitable to me when I tried it again onetime when I got poisoned by mercury after using a strong antifungal and it killed too much yeast in one go and released metals from the yeast themselves. That can happen with antifungals sometimes. Depends on the person. So I used DMSA to chelate it back out and it worked! 25 mg was the better dose for me.

Most actually have to start at around 12.5 mg. That seems to be the best dose to start. From there you can raise it later on if you find you tolerate it well. OR, in some cases, if a person finds even that too much, they can lower it to 6 mg. It just gets annoying to split up capsules. So you may need to find as low a dose DMSA as you can (if you can).

I have seen him talk about taking B complex and he does say to split it up. But maybe sometimes he forgets to say that. You definitely do NOT take a B50 3 or 4 times daily like that.

It depends how potent the vitamin B is though. I had a B complex one that was small doses and the bottle said to take one tablet 3 times daily, so that was simple for me, I didn't need to split it up. But I have also had high dose B complex that only need once or twice per day dosing. So I just split it up, so I was taking the same amount, but over the day instead of at one dose. Which is what Andy means.

There is a lot of good information on that link I sent. Though you can get it from the book, I think it's easier and more simply laid out on that link.
