Hello Susan. I had the last of my 25 amalgams replaced in February. I have recently done 6 weeks of chelation with ALA, 50 mg every 3 hours, 3 days on, 4 off. I am taking a few weeks off chelation now since the last two weeks of chelation went so poorly. The chelation process causes plenty of mercury to be released through the intestines, and that cause candida to flare up. I am now eating raw garlic(a clove at the end of a meal, once or twice a day). I am also eating plenty of cinnamon and some clove. These are also antifungals. I am also drinking Yogi Licorice tea, which has licorice plus a few other herbs which are also antifungal. Licorice helps with detoxification, stimulates the adrenals, and is a mild laxative. I drink a cup or two a day, as too much licorice can raise blood pressure. I might start taking black walnut hull extract again. Black walnut is a potent antifungal and antiparasitic, and also has a mild laxative effect. Dandelion and milk thistle are great for liver detoxification, so I may add those to my regimen. They are also said to have mild laxative effect. I stopped taking the olive leaf extract and grapefruit seed extract, as I think they were producing too severe symptoms. I am making a bit of progress fighting the candida, but am still too scared to try starting chelation again. When I do start it again, I plan to use just half the dosage I used before.
