Hi Susan,

The more poisoned you are, the more difficult it is when you use anything that moves/removes mercury, the more side effects there are.

I do not think DMSA does too much to yeast, but I think the action of moving metals can. Though DMSA may directly flare up some yeast itself, I don't remember "too" many problems with it, but I did have to stick to a good diet. Some people might react to DMSA itself, but most tend to be mercury symptoms, rather than the DMSA.

Have you tried taking DMSA every 4 hours rather than 3? It can be a different experience sometimes. Some find 4 hours works, others need to take it more often. It depends on the person. I would also lessen your dose to about 12.5 mg. 25 mg can be too much to start off with and some are so toxic, they have to start as low as 6 mg. It is annoying to split pills I know, but you do not want to push yourself over the edge when you are this toxic and injured from mercury.

Your removal process has obviously added to your horrific poisoning. It is very upsetting to read this. You are obviously doing all you can to try and get through each day, almost living like a cripple. I admire you that you are surviving with this the way you are. Whatever it takes to survive, sometimes you have to do it. I have been nearly bed ridden also. Terrible torment that I cannot completely describe and I'm sure I do not have to someone like you going through this hell. The diet helped me, chelation helped me. However, you are likely more poisoned, so you would need to treat yourself with kid gloves and do VERY VERY small amounts of DMSA. Whether it's every 4 or 3 hours, whichever goes better for you. You are of course taking in even more DMSA by taking it every 3 hours and that might also be harder on you. Although, at the sametime, more frequent dosing can also help those that suffer from redistribution on even every 4 hours, so it's about finding out what is more suitable.

I would seriously recommend going down to half that amount. 25 mg is seriously far too much for the seriously poisoned and that is clearly what you are. Do not push yourself to go too high on a dose, or too long on a round. If you can barely make it to 3 days, stop and break for as long as you need before doing another round. Do not push yourself to go longer than 3 days, that is long enough, especially for someone this poisoned. I have gone through the same and also could often not even handle going past two days, but I tried to because it's not wise stopping the round earlier than 3 days apparently. however, if I coudl not handle it, I would STOP. I listened to my body too.

I do not know how long it will take for you to feel better. Sometimes you can be removing mercury and not notice improvements for quite sometime and sometimes it feels like you're not getting better or getting worse. Symptoms can chop and change continually. I used to feel like everytime I had a patch of improvement, more mercury would surface and bring me back down again. I had such a huge storage of it. I had to keep chipping away at it over time, when I could do so. It's not a race and trying to push yourself to go faster than what your body can handle is fruitless. It can end up backfiring and then you wind up having to try and recover. It can be devastating. Slow and easy does it and allow your body some recovery/break time.

Antioxidants are very important. I used to take vitamin C powder, vitamin E, zinc and selenium. In hindsight, I should have been taking minerals and B complex too as Andy suggests and making sure I had enough proteins (meat/eggs) and animal fats like butter and good oils like olive oil, flaxseed oil and mercury free fish oil. Fats like this are very important and very healing. I steer clear of canola and other plant oils like that.

I really hope that you will gain some relief from your torment sometime soon. If you halve your dose, please let me know how it goes for you and whether there is any improvement. You might even want to try every 4 hours and see if there is any change from the 3.
