Hi Abishag, ((( Smiles )))
Yes.. I still have tinnitus though lots better.
I still have a decreased sound tolerance but like cured as the worse of hyperacusis is behind me.
I have a high level of tolerances now to most regular sounds.
But not cured as my tolerances are not the same tolerances I had pre H.
Not the same as before but pretty close.
Plus..
A shared description on the expirence of hyperacusis.
Hyperacusis is sensitivity to everyday sounds. Voices, laughter, music, birds, babies, whistling, children, planes, intercoms, vehicles, insects, can be unbearable.
ľ It is like hearing a thousand times louder than normal.
ľ It is life altering, exhausting, and painful.
ľ It causes anxiety, frustration, stress, anger, and fear.
ľ It produces a need to avoid or escape everyday sounds.
ľ It makes one feel accosted and overwhelmed by noise.
ľ It affects the way we interact with the world.
ľ It creates reactions to normal sounds that may seem strange to others who have no sensitivity to noise.
ľ It brings a loss of concentration during noise overload; recovery from each noise overload can take a while.

ƒæ Hyperacusis is painful ¡V It is like hearing a thousand times louder than normal.
ľ This life-altering condition makes one feel accosted and overwhelmed by noise and produces anxiety, stress, anger, fear, and a need to escape noise.
ľ Normal sounds such as voices, laughter, music, birds singing, babies crying, children at play, planes, intercoms, vehicles, insects, etc. can be very painful.
ľ In daily life we face a constant struggle and often limit our noise exposure because dealing with painful noise exhausts us and keys us up and we have trouble sleeping which makes us less capable of effectively coping with noise.
ľ Some flee from the world to protect their ears from every noise, but overprotection makes the problem worse because the auditory system tries harder to hear which is why earplugs make one even more sensitive to noise.
ľ We experience a loss of concentration and pain when auditory sensory overload occurs.
At times people misinterpret our reactions to sound.
ľ Loud noise, head trauma, and other things can cause hyperacusis.
Some people learn the cause of their hyperacusis and some people are born with it.
ľ Please be aware of the noise to which you and your loved ones are exposed and the related dangers.
Overexposure to noise can cause hearing disorders, deafness, and tinnitus, (I have this, too) which is ringing in the ears 24/7.
ľ Please be aware there are many people in the world who have disabilities and challenges that are not always readily apparent to others.
