Hi Jinx, probably depends on what kind of root canal you get (based on the biocompatible version and the other one, and the sealing of them).
I'd say a zirconium implant would be preferable than a root canal (or at least the unbiologic version of root canals). Root canals can breed harmful toxins/bacteria which can leak into your system 24/7. Though an ordinary dentist would likely say this isn't so, I wonder why some people become so ill by them? They may not have any localised symptoms either. which is worse because often it's a hidden problem and one that is often missed.
Unless your dentist can perform the new more biocompatible root canals that are mentioned on one of those links, I don't know if I would get one. Again Jinx, I don't know how much choice you will have where you are. It may work out ok for you, it may not and that is not something anybody can predict.
I don't know how you would get hold of a dentist that does the zirconium implants where you are, I know the dentist in the links I gave you does them, but it maybe pretty rare. You might wanna look zirconium dental implants up online and see what you come up with. If you cannot get one and/or it's too expensive, see if a dentist can look at doing the more biocompatible/safer root canals, rather than the old style ones.
Unfortunately so many of them are very cynical when it comes to biologic dentistry. But if you get one that listens and might actually do that for you as a special case, that would be good. I know you can't afford to lose anymore teeth, so Im not sure what other choices there are and you could also print something out and take it to a dentist and let them know that you have very big issues with toxicity and really want to find out the best/safest least toxic way to do something about that tooth.
