There are people with Lyme disease that have come down with a case of hyperacusis..
Patients with other conditions, such as Lyme's disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Bell's Palsy, Head Injury, and Epilepsy, expirence hyperacusis.
Hyperacusis is also an associated symptom of Autism. Children with Autism often complain that everything is too loud..

As more people come down with Lyme disease.. As well as other disorders, we will probably see more cases of hyperacusis.. In the future as well... Here is a good site that explains about hyperacusis in Lyme's disease... And how it can be expirenced.. As Lyme disease patients can expirence extreme sensitivity to sound.. Did you know with hyperacusis, the volume of the entire world seems on high.. If any one out there expirences this symptom with Lyme or any other cause or condition.. Then it's possibly hyperacusis disorder that you are expirencing.. http://www.lymeinfo.net/hyperacusis.html Take Care Lynn
