I've found a few of these comments now, though your own (CTD) suggest that you have read Camp's comments without any attempt to digest what Dr. Theobald was saying. Your comments indicate you have decided to ingest what Dr. Theobald says no matter if it makes sense or not.
[quote]You either ignored or completely missed what Dr. Theobald defines as "basic life processes." They are:
[quote]"Some of the macroscopic properties that characterize all of life are (1) replication, (2) information flow in continuity of kind, (3) catalysis, and (4) energy utilization (metabolism) .... all living species today should necessarily have ... inherited the structures that perform these functions. The genealogical relatedness of all life predicts that organisms should be very similar in the particular mechanisms and structures that execute these basic life processes." (emphasis added) Missed that part, at least this time. Oh well... He adds a bit further down: The fact that all terrestrial life has a genetic code is a piece of evidence that it evolved from a common ancestor. Really? Surely the evolutionists try to "predict" A and not A. Dr. T:In fact, common descent does not require that all organisms even have a genetic code. Yes, he does ramble through a transparent attempt to justify this. But nobody should be sidetracked. If his argument is valid (an argument which assumes evolution to be true) he can indeed predict both A and not A. But doing so renders the prediction unfalsifiable. One either makes a falsifiable prediction, or one with A and not A. There's a rule in logic called the Law of Excluded Middle. And if God created everything as it is, there would also presumably be no need for him/her to use this one-and-only way for life to copy itself; there must have been endless variations to choose from. No need? Well, I notice you don't say no advantage. But maybe a little caution is in order when one goes about presuming to question God's decisions. Your response to the above information was,
[quote]I see no mention of the "four basic life functions"; but there's no need. He's again full of crap. Which confirms my earlier guess that you hardly glanced at what Dr. Theobald was actually saying. Which also means that I'm going to have to ask you to look at this article more carefully before you take more pot-shots at it. Does snipping my response mean you have no proper reply? Where is the evidence of common structures in respiration? Or will you attempt to equivocate respiration out of the picture? But respiration is part of the picture, and I did omit to mention plants, so now I will correct that. Plants. I'm not upset at all. I just don't understand why you won't answer my questions. If you continue to ignore them then I'll have to assume that you can't answer them, which doesn't lend much to your position, and rather discredits your "evolution is lies" mantra. Have to assume? And here I was thinking you'd already done so. But it's far more important for you to convince others this is assumption is valid, isn't it? Convince folks I have an obligation to debunk all bunk. While you're at it, try & convince them to apply a double standard & let you slide on your own overdue issues. Now instead of having to comb through the link, I'd appreciate it if you could at least tell me which page to look at. I didn't find your quotes when I scrolled down the first page for quite a way. One would think you were trying to hide something. For example, that you didn't want anyone to challenge the allegations made here by you. Does your browser have a find function? It's ctrl + F on firefox. I only see one page.
Dark Matter + Dark Energy = Dark Truth"We find that such evidence demonstrates that the ID argument is dependent upon setting a scientifically unreasonable burden of proof for the theory of evolution." - Judge Jones Kitzmiller case http://www.talkreason.org/articles/Falsify.cfm"To Compel A Man To Furnish Funds For The Propagation Of Ideas He Disbelieves And Abhors Is Sinful And Tyrannical." - Thomas Jefferson "And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath?" - Thomas Jefferson
