Liver flushes are good, in moderation. I personally can't handle too much liver cleansing at this point...too many mercury symptoms reappear.

Joe, be careful with the MSM. It may be causing (or contributing to) the increase in some of your symptoms. The detox product you mentioned also undoubtedly is stirring up mercury. I would either increase the amount of Algin you're taking, or decrease or stop the MSM and detox product.

As I told Bill in another post, 80% of people will automatically begin to eliminate mercury after all their amalgams are removed (according to Huggins' research). If you're one of these 80%, you don't want to pull out more mercury than your body can eliminate, otherwise you just reabsorb it and redeposit it in other tissues.

If you can handle detoxing, then ALA (alpha lipoic acid) is supposed to be one of the best things you can take, specifically for binding to mercury in the brain. Also, supplements that enhance levels of glutathione or inhibit its depletion are extremely beneficial, particularly due to glutathione's role in liver detoxification: Milk Thistle, N-Acteyl Cysteine (NAC), Schizandra (a Chinese herb) and vitamin B2 (riboflavin).

I've actually been taking a product called Adrenal Support that has both Schizandra and Riboflavin (vitamin B2) in it, as well as magnesium and vitamin C (both good for mercury-toxic people). It's really helped with my energy levels and stress, both of which have been greatly challenged lately with work.

I know my anxiety levels (and irritability/negativity) seem to increase whenever I stir up mercury...you might want to try taking more algin...it works very well for me, providing noticeable differences in 15 to 30 minutes usually. In fact, I use my anxiety/mood as a kind of barometer to let me know how my mercury levels are doing. This may not hold true for everyone, but for me, there's a definite correlation. More mercury = anxiety and irritability; less mercury = peace and happiness...it never seems to fail.

One last thought...good health actually is a commitment. These days, with all the environmental and food toxins we're exposed to, most people have to be pro-active to maintain optimum health. This may be as simple as taking daily supplements, drinking purifed water, eating organic and/or minimally-processed foods. For others, it may take more effort. Either way, investing time and effort into your health will have long-term benefits. It may seem like a lot of effort in the beginning, but after a while, it simply becomes a lifestyle.

In fact, many people I've talked with have been surprised at how much better they feel with a few fairly simple lifestyle changes: diet, exercise, supplementation, etc. They feel so much better, have more energy, think more clearly...they never realized how good they could feel. It's actually the "easier" road to travel. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
