I like this little note in the comments below the article too:
Removal of silver fillings prior to cremation is not a practical option as the removal with high speed drills would require special measures to eliminate contamination. Extraction of teeth post mortem is not practical or desirable, you might as well suggest cremating the head separately. Filters would seem to be the best option. I am concerned that the toxic effects of mercury are (as usual) being confused with the risk from fillings containing mercury which is negligible. Usually you can choose either silver or white fillings, in general white fillings take twice as long to complete and last half as long, so therefore are 4x as expensive.
so umm, a silver filling takes 5 minutes to place and a white filling takes 10 minutes ... wow such an expense of time... I really don't know if white fillings only last half as long, that hasn't been my experience... I have never lost a white filling, but considering that placing a silver filling requires the removal of 10 times as much tooth and then the tooth cracks up and falls apart later, the silver filling with it.. I think the commenter isn't really really being truthful about the situation... it should say... silver amalgams crack the tooth and then fall out....
He must have gotten his info from the ADA, they never tell anyone about that situation either. Funny how they overlook the real expense from the client's point of view because you can't really even put a price on tooth that gets screwed up by an amalgam filling. Or a price on your kidneys etc... they concern themsleves instead with a time savings of 5 or 10 minutes for the dentist and a dollar amount of $25.00.
Pretty gross.

Well this is a big bunch of crap!!! They don't want the fillings being drilled out after your dead cause it is so dangerous but they will let us walk around with it in our mouths for a lifetime and never say a thing about how dangerous it is to drill it out while you are still living. We are all just human guinea pigs!!!
