I've been lurking for a few weeks. Just wanted to say hi.

I'm a mom of a son who recovered from autism (mercury poisoning). One day while I was pregnant with him and enjoying my favorite praline pecan ice cream cone, I broke a tooth when I bit down on a pecan. The tooth crumbled apart. It had contained a rather large amalgam filling that I had had since I was about 12 yrs old. My dentist decided to leave it alone until the baby was born. I gave birth to a healthy 10 lb baby boy, then a few months later had the remainder of the tooth extracted.

Like any mother does, I took my baby on time for all his routine vaccinations. After his vaccines at 15 months he got very sick. Within 24 hours he broke out into a terrible rash was screaming uncontrollably and began having explosive bowel movements. I took him to the doctor and they prescribed prednisone. This didn't seem to help and he only got worse and we noticed that he stopped saying alot of the things he used to say and didn't seem to notice anything that was going on around him. The doctors told us he had autism. I really couldnt' believe it because prior to this he was fine, he was a very bright baby, so alert and so social, he loved people and it was like a light switch had went off an he was gone. I questioned the vaccines but was told that there could be no reason for the vaccines to cause his symptoms. I went on to find out that there was mercury in the shots and calcuated that he his vaccines had given him a cumulative dose of mecury 273 times what the epa deems safe.

I then investigated ways to help heal his physical symptoms, because as ridiculous as it sounded whenever his rashes would calm down, it's like he'd start coming back to us. Since the docs treated me like I was crazy, I knew I was on my own.

We changed his diet, added supplements and did behavior therapy. And eventually he did come back to us for good! He will be 10 years old in a few weeks and this year he lost his autism diagnosis. He will be attending a regular school with his brother next year with minimal support.

I believe that the vaccines as well as my amalgams contributed to his autism like symptoms. But of course my doctors think I'm nuts. In fact he and I have been in a bitter battle through our local news paper in recent days, writing letters to the editor.

But enough of that.

Now that I've healed my son, I need to heal myself. I have been suffering with chronic fatigue for years, and my heart rate is so high that when I went for a stress test they wouldnt' let me on the treadmill. I am about 30 pounds overweight but nothing that should cause me to not be able to walk on a treadmill! I have joint pain and brain fog... boy do I have brain fog!!!

I'd been wanting to have my amalgams removed but had been putting it off. Then about two weeks ago another one broke (this was the third one to break). So I immediately called the IOAMT dentist that I had found online and made my appointment. We hit it off very well! He removed one filling already and I go back next week for a complete exam and we will discuss dealing with the remaining fillings.

I was wondering if it is possible to feel some "relief" after having just one removed. Because I have noticed differences in my alertness and even joint pain. Or is this probably just in my head. I have 9 fillings.

I'm happy to have found you all!

Angela

Welcome to the forum! It is so nice to meet you, Angela.

My son shows signs of Autism, and I know he and my daughter both got quite a dose of mercury from me, during my pregnancies. It has taken a lot to convince my husband that he has Autism, as he doesn't want to accept that, really. I have 4 kids, but was especially toxic with the last 2. Neither one of them walked until they were 18 mo. old. My son is a little hard to control, and screams and cries a lot. He is now 4 years old, and he's still not very interested in potty training. It is so disheartening. I didn't know about the shots, either. I wish I had known then, what I know now. I am becoming quite the activist about Autism. Mercury poisoning is just bad, bad, BAD!!

I have many amalgam fillings. In a few weeks, I will be getting half of them out. It is going to be quite a journey. I am very glad you're here. If by chance you have a myspace, I would love to have you as a friend. The link is in my signature. Sadly, I am not well enough to start detox on my kids yet. It takes everything I have to just get through the day. Oh, but I have a gut feeling, when I start getting these fillings out, I am going to get better rather quickly. I have always been pretty resilient when it comes to things, and I've always been strong enough to bounce back. Watch out world, when I do!

I don't know about anyone else, but I believe having a filling out could make you feel better. After all, it's reducing your toxic burden, and that has to make some kind of difference. I will be reducing mine x8 when I go in, so I have high hopes it will help!

There are many wonderful and knowledgable people here, that are more than willing to help, if you need anything at all.

Hi Angela and welcome.

That sure is a fine heart warming story about your son. Super duper great big n’ large congratulations for ignoring those bloody useless doctors and sorting him out yourself. Top stuff! I must say I ignore all regular doctors now, all they know how to do is prescribe drugs and distract me from understanding how to get better.

Now you gonna heal yourself……good good luck

Yes. I noticed the difference when I had them out. Amalgam removal for me was difficult, took 9 months, took me about 1 month to recover from each quadrant of amalgam removed…but even so I “started” getting a little better after the second appointment. Maybe its better to say…because I had less of a toxic load my body was more able to take care of some of the accumulated waste. I must say I used a multi-pronged attack on my body then (and now) and tried a multitude of cleanses, herbs, diets etc to help myself, the majority of which helped and is the reason I think I am healing up. For sure its slow and very much 2 steps forward and 1 step back, but I am most certainly moving upwards in my health.

Do you plan on chelating yourself?

Hello Angela
Welcome to the forum. Good job on healing your son. I have 2 boys with leaning disibilities and 1 also has dyslexia. The school system always wanted me to have them tested for adhd by a dr. I would refuse every time because I knew they would stick them on some zombie like drug. That was not what I wanted for my boys and so I have fought the school systems for years. As soon as I get well I want to get my son the help he needs. My oldest is 25 so he has to make that decision himself but when he is ready I will be there for him.
I had my fillings removed a year ago and not a big change right off but gradually I have seen improvement. I started the removal 6 years ago and had 4 taken out and yes a big improvement and ran low on money and then I felt so much better I waited. Well that was a big mistake and this time I had H-pylori and I think that is what made this time so much harder to start healing. But I am doing so much better over the last couple of months. So glad you found the forum and there are alot of very caring people here. If you need anything just ask away!
Its very good to meet you and good luck!

I think it is quite possible to feel some relief after having just one or two removed, especially if they were cracked. Cracked amalgam=leaky amalgam=big trouble. I had been noticing muscle weakness for about a year before I had a cracked amalgam-filled tooth removed, which I tried everything for not suspecting my fillings, and the muscle weakness subsequently subsided after the tooth was removed.

Congratulations on healing your son, keep after that doctor!!! People need to know about experiences like yours, they don't get the right information from doctors. Doctors will rarely admit the truth about vaccines after they have used the vaccines especially on babies, because of the possibility of lawsuits, not only for autism but also because some children die after being vaccinated.

Be careful about what type of composite material you choose if replacing amalgams. Don't drink coffee with mercury illness, it contributes a whole lot to foggy head. You should consider chelating, there are various routes to go about that depending on how well or unwell you feel.

Hi Angela, This is my first post also. I have also been lurking for the past few weeks. I first suspected I may be mercury poisoned about 6 months ago. I started feeling very strange and began having palpitations, light-headedness, brain fog, numbness and tingling in my arms, and this all kicked in after I received the flu and pneumonia shots! I was baffled to say the least. I also have two young boys and my oldest son who is now 5, had a strange reaction to his 1 year vaccines also. He had uncontrollable diarrhea and he developed such a bad rash they turned into big red welts on his tush! It was horrific! He is very intelligent but I still wonder if the vaccines caused him to have that reaction. My second son has not been diagnosed with Autism, but my husband and I have noticed he does show some symptoms. He use to bang his head with his fists if he didn't get his way, he has always been very whiny and cries a lot. He is doing much better these days since I have begun giving him clay baths once a week. They are very mild but it seems to calm him down, and doesn't gets as upset as he used to if he does not follow his normal routine.
I am afraid that he was exposed to mercury from me during my pregnancy with him as I had 9 teeth filled with huge amalgam fillings that were very old and surely leaking. He is starting to repeat words a little more clearly now but he still has very limited speech. I try to work with him every day but it is tough to keep his attention and help him stay focused. He seems interested in potty training as he sees his older brother go potty but he loses interest quickly. I am frustrated and concerned at the same time. I have only been amalgam free for almost 2 months and am barely started to have some days where I feel ok. Today being one of them. I have recently been diagnosed with: Adrenal Fatigue, Candida, Parasites and Mercury Toxicity. It is a lot to deal with
at once but this forum has been very informative and reassuring. I surely enjoy reading about others experiences as they have taught me to understand and sort out so much about what I have been going through lately. Thanks for giving me the courage to say "Hello" to everyone myself.

Hi, my first post too. I have been reading and getting a lot of good information from all of you. I was diagnosed with mercury toxicity last summer after years of debilitating symptoms. I got my last two fillings out and am doing quite well. But I also have three young boys. All three of them have attention/focus problems. My oldest repeated pre-kindergarten at the recommendation of his teacher due to his difficulty staying on task and impulsivity. My middle child is slightly better with focus, but sometimes get strange pains (a few times he was limping for a day or two for no apparent reason). Sometimes, his feet will fall asleep or he will wake up in the night and say his arm or leg hurts. And my youngest (who while pregnant with I unknowingly had an amalgam removed) has developed several food allergies (including yeast), battles frequent gastritis, also gets strange myalgias, and has hand tremors, and periods of hyperactivity, and shows candida symptoms (frequent throat clearing due to mucous in throat and gastrointestinal - he is carbohydrate intolerant). His hyperactivity appears to correlate with candida symptoms. Thank God, when his symptoms came on, I knew what to do because of my own experience with candida. I only found out about my mercury toxicity last summer, but I figured out the candida a few years ago and got major relief from the diet and antifungals. His symptoms began with gastrititis, a rash all over his body (head to toe) and skin peeling on his fingers and toes. He also had night sweats around that time, which I also had. I was also told he should repeat pre-kindergarten as well but I chose not to this time as it did not help my oldest - he still has attention problems. They can all do the work, but have difficulty getting it done because they stray so easily. They are all doing fairly well in school but only because a spend a great deal of time with each of them after school. I am pretty certain that their problems are associated with my mercury toxicity. I have recently had my youngest two tested for heavy metals (before I read in Andy Cutler's book that a challenge test is dangerous). They had it a week ago and tolerated it well (it was not an IV challenge, but one oral dose). I am awaiting the results, but of course, I have since read that some mercury toxic children don't always excrete mercury, so I don't know what the results will mean. I should get them back any day. I have two autistic nephews and I see signs of candida in both of them. Both of their mothers (my husband's two sisters) have mercury fillings and one of them has chronic yeast infections and other signs of candida. I am sure there is a correlation.

Thank you for your post, Angela. I would love advice from anyone on how I can safely detoxify my children. They are such great boys and I don't want them to struggle with health problems as I did. I will tell my own story some other evening as it's long, but I am getting better every month since amalgam removal. I wish I had found this site years ago.

Thanks again.
