Its been over two years since I got my fillings replaced...It was really serious, and I was really really sick. It affected me the most mentally. I had to drop out of college because it was just too much to take.

Really glad I did, I was more active here (on this board) around that time I got them replaced.

Not completely better yet, but can definitely feel a lot of changes.

I never reach that point anymore where it feels like I absolutely cannot take it anymore. I always have had lots of anxiety but its been a lot better nowadays. Sleeping better than I have ever in my life.

I have a problem with being cold now, or feeling too hot if its too hot. I've always had problems with being too hot, but the cold thing is new to me, it didn't start until the winter before my amalgam removal, but I'm confident it will get better with time.

Theres so much I've learned about the body and the mind from being sick, and its been the biggest learning experience of my lifetime. I am very grateful for getting to fight through this.

Its hard trying to give advice to people who are still really sick. It seems like everybody is different in how they react to things and what they need to get better. Its all about struggling to find some balance so your body has a chance to heal and cleanse and rebuild.

For me what has worked I believe is eating wholesome traditional foods, including healthy fats and fermented raw dairy products. Fresh air, sunshine, gentle exercise, and good sleep are all essential. I also believe supplementing with time tested herbs and herbal extracts is great too.

The biggest thing I have learned is to not overdo anything.

Don't eat too much at a time. Our digestive tracks all full of toxins while we are mercury sick and the more food we cram in the less we digest it properly and we just feed nasty organisms.

Don't exercise too hard. This was the one that broke me. I thought I was sick and depressed while I had amalgams because I wasn't focused and disciplined enough, so I pushed my body hard and got into kung fu and really worked my censored off. I really stressed my body and didn't get my worst symptoms until after pushing it physically for almost 2 years. I was eating a great diet at the time but it wasn't enough. I still feel the effects today and it was like 3 years ago.

I always send my love to everybody when I read this board. Mercury poisoning is such a tough battle. The only way I made it through the toughest parts was by taking refuge in a higher power. I put my trust and god and figured whatever happened was meant to be...and just waited as patiently as I could while the horrible feelings passed.

I'm 22 now, and managed to make a trip cross country 6 months post amalgam removal to live on a ranch in southern CA. I take care of horses, goats, and chickens and milk the goats. I also garden and am planting an orchard. I am very connected to the people I live with on the ranch, and everybody is so appreciate and grateful for the good energy I have brought here.

Take care folks, there is light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can't see it yet.

Way to go, good to see that you are doing better. Mind me asking how many fillings you had and what you used to chelate? Also what bracket weight might you be: a. [0-100] b.[101-150] c.[151-200] d. [201-up] ?

I had 10 large fillings replaced. I had fillings in my baby teeth too. Then I had braces when I was in 9th grade and it definitely got worse after that.

Chelating varied, tried many different things. I think the biggest thing was using a sauna. I have a little portable infrared. I also tried a lot of natural chelators, aged garlic extract, kombucha, miso, raw garlic, kelp, algin, etc...etc... I tried so many different things, including no carb diet but always felt the rollercoaster of sometimes feeling too anxious and energized and sometimes feeling too drained and worn out.

Never tried cutlers regimen, was trying a more natural approach using whole foods and natural herbs etc...

Now that I think about it I pretty much followed Hal Huggins protocol, which specifically includes large amount of butter (he recommends like a stick a meal, which I do still follow)...and I always made sure the butter was organic, pastured, and raw if possible.

Hi Gary. Cool post and congrats. Looks like you gotta good plan of action there.

I been reading all about Raw dairy foods….very interesting stuff…I gotta try some raw milk….supposedly it should be ok for me, even thought I have a mega bad milk allergy. Pasteurisation and homogenisation have destroyed a perfectly good food and made it into a poison.

May I ask if you have done any of the cleanses? Bowel? Kidney? Liver? Parasite?

Raw dairy is great, as long as you don't have any leaky gut syndrome, which some people with more severe reactions to mercury has. If you have leaky gut all dairy and gluten should be left out.

Also, fermented raw dairy is the way to go. Raw Kefir is just awesome, and has way more probiotic power than yogurt.

I've done plenty of cleanses. I drink a lot of fresh squeezed lemon juice every morning and between breakfast and dinner. I attacked parasites with lots of raw garlic and things like cloves, fresh ginger, etc.... I've taken bentonite clay on and off the past few years. The sauna is the biggest cleanse I do consistently.

I don't know if I emphasized this but there was many points where I wondered if I was ever going to get better and felt hopeless but I struggled on. Perseverance is a very good thing to have with mercury poisoning. Now I am very optimistic, and definitely know I'm going to get better but it takes time to recover from a lifetime of mercury exposure and eating poorly. I believe I am completely rebuilding my body.

Another thing, I never got sick since I started eating lots of coconut oil and fermented food about 3 years ago. I feel like crap many days but never caught a cold or flu or anything like that. I also don't eat any cane sugar at all, only some raw honey in small amounts.

Ha! Good. Everyone that I see taking multiple actions to get better…is getting better. Thanks for sharing that, I agree wholeheartedly with you.

Thank you for your story! You are very wise at 22 yrs old. You are doing a great job! This is your second chance at life. I only wish I was that young still. At 21, I was getting all of these fillings put in. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I really love your post, though. Hope for the future is a wonderful thing!

May I suggest this book - Hypothryoidism Type 2 by Mark Starr, MD ..
Changes in basal body temperature are dependent upon the function of the thyroid. This book may help you.
Also read about Wilson's Syndrome - http://www.knoxintegrativemed.com/wilson's%20syndrome.htm

Congratulations on in the success of your health and I wish the the best for the future <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/byebye.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for that post, gdawson,
it is good to hear from someone whos gone through it and come out in one piece, sorry that you had to go through it at all.None of us should be poisoned like that.
You sound so accepting and I am so glad you are getting onwith your life and healing.
I was surprised you said you were 22 years, you sound so much older & wiser.
I was once under the illusion that if I got my fillings replaced
then I'd be better.I had no idea what I'd signed up for!!!
Its 7 months on and most days I feel so poisoned.
Thanks for posting to remind us all of the light at the end of the tunnel.

I was going to chime in with checking out thyroid function. Temperature dysregulation, especially sensitivity to cold, is a classic symptom. The thyroid has to work twice as hard when it's cold and dark, so winter is usually when symptoms are most noticeable.

Its partly thyroid, of course. I tried a lot of iodine in various forms and didn't tolerate it well, it would make it not even worth taking because I would get so could that I couldn't even sleep at one point.

It kinda doesn't help that I live in a place where the temperatures are extreme, very hot in the day and cold at night...very cold in the winter, at least when you live like I live but I manage and I wouldn't move unless I had to.

Its getting better though. I think I was zinc deficient because since I've started supplementing zinc about 6 weeks ago I notice a lot of changes. I suspected high copper and was afraid to use too many isolated supplements but I believe some are necessary at times, but not good long term. Since excess copper is excreted in the bile it can prevent dietary zinc from being absorbed so its a hard deficiency to overcome without good amounts of zinc, as zinc and copper work in a balance like calcium and magnesium.

Still struggling a bit but feeling so much happier mentally which makes all the difference.

Thanks a bunch for your interest and wanting to help, I appreciate it!

Hi Gary,

Thanks for posting your experiences in dealing with this horrific mercury toxicity that we are all suffering from! It is encouraging to hear that "there is a light at the end of the tunnel" because right now it's very hard for me to focus on that. I force myself to daily but it is not easy by all means. Although I am getting better slowly, it feels like it is one step forward, two steps back. I'm in the beginning stages of my first round of the parasite Humaworm/Humacleanse 30 day regimen and although it hasn't been too bad, I am hoping that I can come out of it feeling a lot better. Still have 27 days to go and counting. Sharing your experience gives me hope. Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/byebye.gif" alt="" />
