Not having suffered from depression before, is a lack of motivation part of it? Mine seems to be getting worse. I can go to bed thinking of all the things I want to do the next day and come the morning, just feel unmotivated to do anything. I keep waiting through the day for the motivation to return and sometimes it does and sometimes not. I either give in or don't do the things I'd planned or literally force myself to do them. Do any of you go through this. I think I hate this the most because it's something I've never had and don't understand. Thanks Tracy xx

yes, every day. I think it's a lot to do with the underactive thyroid. Roll on your appointment with Dr Peatfield. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Nicola x

I know, still not been able to get in touch, no reply to E-mail. Linda thinks he's in his office tomorrow, so will try then. This is the pits. Just went into town, felt panicky and like crying, couldn't wait to get back. It's no life. Love Tracy x

Oh sweetie, I know, and I go through that, too. I contributed it to depression for many years, and it was...but I'm sure now, that I have always had depression BECAUSE of the mercury. Could be to do with my thryroid too, don't know. When I did have my thyroid checked, it was ok. I think mercury throws everything off, including tests, so I don't really know what to believe. I spent about 10-15 years off and on, taking anti-depressants. I finally said enough in November, and went cold turkey, and have not taken one since. My body, and heart and soul said this is time, time for me to get better, and getting off those pills was the first step. Getting my amalgams out is the next. I can't wait to get on with this. I'm very anxious about it, and I've actually been having some strange panic attacks again. Haven't had many of those in the last couple of years, but yesterday I felt my heart race and felt like it stopped for a split second and it was while I was driving. It really scared me. Hasn't happened since.
Hang in there, Tracy....<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loveyou.png" alt="" />

Antidepressants , like ecstacy and other drugs, cause permanant changes in the brain and make people more depressed. The best way to avoid depression is not to take them and to change your diet.

I know what you mean Tracy, I experience that alot. Not sure if it's related to candida, mercury or virus or what. Probably anything that causes toxicity can cause that. I had severe depression with both candida and mercury and was suicidal almost daily. Frightening symptoms, as well as bloating all over my body (from toxins I believe).
Antidepressants did not help me. Sometimes it appeared they would when first starting certain ones, but then any remote signs of change would be gone and instead replaced with side effects which would increase the longer I remained on any. No matter which ones I was put on, the same thing. All of them gave me strange feelings in the mind too, I didn't quite feel like "me". They were just another chemical my body had to endure and were messing me up further I believe.
Diet was the only thing that lifted the depression. Nothing else. Not even supplements could help me unless I eliminated sugars, wheat/gluten grains etc. To continue to eat anything containing either or both was a recipe for disaster and i believe personally I would not have made it through if I had not eliminated them. However, these days due to virus, I don't get quite the dramatic improvements I once did, but I still require to remain on a strict diet to control symptoms at least to a point.
So I agree with you Sara!

Hi Tracy, I know exactly how you feel. Got the same thing. My mind is willing and eager but my body says no. I am basically a non lazy person and love getting things done. Ive been on anti dpressants for 16 yrs, almost consistantly. Im off 70% but it took a year so far. But like the others I wonder how much of this is from HG, thyroid, or an imperfect diet. I must add the only way I was able to come this far was thru the candida diet, caffeine abstinence, and really watching all that goes in my body. Sometimes I feel like Im in a world by myself though. Good luck and don't loose faith. Diane
