Hi Veggiemom,

Nice to see you back! It's really good that some functions are improving for you, upon treatment for lyme and I gather chelation of mercury....you're attacking both, plus supporting your glands! Good on you, I hope you get through this well. It's very sad when a person is battling alot of issues at once and mercury tends to do this because of the position it puts us in and what it does also to so many things in the body at once.

I could not handle taking DMSA in the way you are taking it, because I required the frequent dose regime to keep the movement and removal of mercury more consistent and even. One pill of even 50 mg, taken in isolation, could send me into an attack and I would be up all night going almost insane with symptoms. This would take sometime to die down. I was than terrified to take DMSA. Until I found out about the frequent dose regime.

In taking Andy's, it kept the chelating agent consistent in my blood, because I was taking a pill every 4 hours. There was no sudden ups or downs of chelator, and not much redistribution/mobilisation of mercury, though there was detox symptoms, they were more manageable. Mercury can readily enter more sensitive areas if it's redistributed, and can make a person much worse.

If you are handling this regime? then you maybe ok with it. Some people are, some are not. There are always risks to anything I think, but if you feel you're having problems or you want to try the frequent dose one, it's always there. Though it's not exactly fun taking a pill every 4 hours, it sure beat the nasty side effects of the other ones (for me).

The fact you are showing a proper level of mercury sounds like good news to me. An excellent doctor here (well studied in mercury) was very concerned when he did testing on me and it showed little to no level of mercury (given all my symptoms). He was very concerned after that and knew he was dealing with retention toxicity and said he likes to see higher levels to show the stuff is coming out. So it sounds like something is happening with yours! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for your kind words! I feel the same way too!! Great to see you back on here and again, hope that you will find your way to a cure in time.

Take care
