Tonight the corner of my all porcelin crown chipped off. This is the 4th time my crown broke! I spent close to $3000 in new porcelin crowns and ozone treatments to clean the root canaled tooth. Last time I said that I would just pull it if it happened again...
I still feel lost at what to do. There are not very many good options. I can't keep paying $900 every other year for a new crown. I don't want a bridge put in because they have to ruin the good tooth next to it to do that. And if that cracked, I would be left with 2 problem teeth. I don't want a permanent tooth because I don't like the idea of drilling into my jaw, and who knows how I will be effected by the titanium and what kind of bacteria will lurk around the material. If I get it pulled, there is no way to make a false tooth because it is the very last tooth on the bottom. So, if i get it pulled, I have to deal with changes in my appearance, jaw structure, upper tooth, possible chewing problems, and all of my teeth shifting!!!!!!!!!! Oh god, this stinks! I'm down to 2 options. Look more into the permanant tooth or just get it pulled. I need to find out more info about the permanant tooth. My doctor said that he can do muscle testing on all of the materials used to make sure I do not respond badly to them. I just don't know if I believe in the validity of muscle testing. And what about the risks to my jaw and toxins from bacteria?
Anyone know about permanent teeth? Materials used? Risk of infections and build up of bacteria like with a root canal? I have to make a decision about this soon. this cracked crown is sharp and I need to get it out soon. I really really appreciate any help or info.
Thanks, chigirl

I was hoping someone already had some info about the dental implants. I guess I will get it pulled and start my own research. I'm leaning away from getting it down. I don't know if titanium is bad or not?

There is a non-metal post implant that they are doing in some parts of Europe, but I don't know if they are doing them in the states yet. I can't find the link right now, but I believe Bex has it? As far as the risk of titanium, I don't really know that, maybe others here know more about that.
