WOW. what a difference. I had all my amalgams replaced pretty recently and started mobilizing the Hg with cilantro and binding it with pectin and garlic. I'm assuming a good indicator that one has mercury or other heavy metal toxicity is the major pounding headaches along with an assortment of bad symptoms upon eating cilantro. I think that cilantro must be a powerful mobilizer also because I definitely feel the effects within minutes of taking it. My headaches were terrible and I was in a huge brain fog. I started to try and control the dosages of cilantro and increased the concentration of pectin. Garlic seem to help maybe 10 to 15 percent with the symptoms. But I needed a better binding agent. It seems that after taking cilantro my body does a decent job at grabbing the mercury particles from what ever area of the body and moving it to my digestive track. The problem is that I wasn't able to keep the mercury there to get packaged up for elimination. So I called and talked to Laura here at herballure and ordered some Algin. I wasn't prepared to see such drastic results!!! The Algin is such an effective binding agent in my gut that I have not felt the headaches and symptoms as before. Now I don't use a whole lot of cilantro as I don't want to overwhelm my body. I have found a simple method to ingest the cilantro. I don't know if I care much for the taste. Once in a while is ok but I'm doing this on a daily basis and it's gets old to me. I use a small food processor and chop the cilantro into little bits. I just add treetop apple juice to it and down the hatchet it goes. Great thing is that the apple juice takes away the cilantro taste quite alot. I'm using about 4 stems of cilantro (both the leaf and stem) per sitting. I don't see an end to the great results I'm getting from this treatment.

I eat a good amount of cilantro (w/garlic/lemon/olive oil), 2 grocery store size bunches per week. Been doing that for months, in summer I will grow my own. Don't often get headaches these days, have never gotten them from cilantro. I did get headaches in the early stages of chelation, and cilantro helped relieve them. I do eat feverfew , maybe a little bit once a week, or every couple weeks. feverfew will help keep headaches away. if you get them alot, use it more often, daily is ok for a while.
Also though I don't generally get them, I will always get a headache if I get constipated, i'll get a slight headache, well more like stuffy not quite foggy head, if slightly constipated.
You should use a colon cleanse product a 2-3 times week early on to help your intestines/bowels stay moving and clear. You can opt for professional colonics/hydrotherapy. Or you can use an at home high enema option. Achy lower back and achy shoulders, achy knees are another sign of constipation/slow bowels/recirculation of the toxins.
I use dmsa now and then, very rarely these days, only if I feel very stuffy in the head and nothing else helps.
Algin is great stuff. Apple juice is also very good with chelating, helps your liver and kidneys clear.

That's great Sitting duck! Congratulations. They call cilantro the "poor man's chelator". I would not personally use it early on in the chelating programme, as apparently it's wise to get the body levels down first before using anything that can cross the blood brain barrier. Again I cannot say how important this is for cilantro itself. But certainly for ALA it is I hear.
I think for me, I'd like to try the stuff again. I'm long long past amalgam removal and the other stuff is expensive, so I'm probably going to give this ago again.
I don't do so great on garlic anymore! Do you use it in supplement form or food form (the garlic)? If supplement, what brand?
I have had horrible reactions to garlic supplementation and this never used to happen once, I believe it used to encourage metal detox, but now I just about lose it when I use it. It does something really bad, but I assume this is related to some other problem I have that is outside of the mercury (e.g. some weird infections). The both times I've used it since infection, it's been horrific. I wish I could understand the reason for this. I used to do quite well on it, powerful stuff though.
Algin is supposed to be great stuff! Sounds like you have gotten yourself onto a regime that really works for you. Thanks for sharing

SoSick I'm not confident enough to ingest that much cilantro at any one time. I'll wait until the semester is over and give it a shot.
Bex, I use the Spring valley odorless garlic gel caps.
I'll tell you, I am already confident that this formula I'm using will take me to the promise land.
You know I've noticed something very strange about this chelation process I'm going through. When I was getting my amalgams out one quadrant at a time I noticed my dogs ( more like my furry kids ) started acting funny. One in general got sick. Loose stool and acting slow and hesitant to move quickly. I thought - strange. I'm wondering if she is actually somewhat mercury poisoned from me. I'm not ruling it out. So I convinced my wife to have her amalgams replaced this week and another one of my dogs is now not feeling good. These are toy poodles that are well cared for and always supervised - especially outside.

I wish my journey through detox could have been like yours! I could barely handle anything and that included the natural stuff. I went through hell to get the metals out and could only use Cutler's protocol due to the timing off it, which kept things more even. But it was inconvenient and annoying due to the timing and having to set alarms etc. Had I not needed to do that? I would not have.
If this formula is working for you sittingduck, then it may well bring you to the promised land! I hope so! That would be wonderful and make sure you type a testimony
Yeah, your dogs could well have been exposed to increased mercury vapor. I get very sick after walking into a dental office. That's all it takes because it's filled with vapor, from removals/drillings. It goes on everyday, so it is highly possible your dogs have had increased exposure from your own removals and bringing it home with you. Also apparently cilantro can increase mercury removal from the lungs, which can come out as you breath....Makes sense, I think when I was eating cilantro, I'm pretty sure I was getting wheezing, which I usually get when exposed to vapor after breathing it in, OR when it's coming back out.

WOW! I am so happy for you that it's making a difference. I just ordered several bottles of Algin a couple of days ago, and I'm going to be taking it for the first time. I still have my amalgams in, and am getting the first half of them out in 5 weeks. I am very excited!!! I am excited to try the Algin, too. From what I understand, others on here take Algin with their amalgams still in, correct? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. My dentist suggested Algin, and said he wants me taking it before, during and after the removal. He told me that I could get it at the health food store, and I knew you couldn't. I went anyway, and then I was going back to the dentist the next day and told them they didn't carry it. They called all over town (amazing isn't it? In a city of a half million people) and none of the health food stores had it. They looked online and found it from the same company that Russ and Laura have it, so I just came on here and ordered mine.
You have just given me a boost of hope, and right now I need that. I find it interesting what you say about your dogs, and I do not doubt you. I have told people for a long time, that I am sure I poisoned my husband through my sweat, when I had night sweats in our bed. I am positive of this. He has no amalgam, and although I am sure he's been exposed to environmental toxins, and probably lead paint, he did NOT have any symptoms until I had the night sweats. He now has symptoms nearly like mine, and it all started when I had a really bad bout of mercury symptoms and got terribly sick. He's never been the same since. Ironic?

mommy24 it should be just fine using it before amalgam removal. My wife is using it right now and her symptoms are very minimal. I think there are lots of uses for it.

sittingDuck, I started slowly with the cilantro like you are too.
After a few months I was at about 1/4 cup per sitting, after 6 months or so, a full cup (food processor chopped) which I remain at. I make a pesto with it and eat it on (seven grain) spaghetti for lunch.
Feel pretty good. real important to do the bowel cleanses.
I was actually chelated up front via IV, cilantro was the best thing I found to give me the same relief as EDTA/DMPS.
Personally, it's my view that if you are able to stick only with natural chelation, the better off you'll be in the long run. We get enough chemicals into our systems from other sources these days.
I like to mix the cilantro with fresh basil but finding basil in the winter is impossible, so that is a summer time thing only. If you are able you should consider growing some because in 2 months time you can make a lot of progress with that. I know there are no studies, no hard scientific facts, but the basil must have something in it that helps with chelation too, and elimination from your body. Cilantro alone is good, nothing compares to a half half mix of cilantro-basil for me though.
The chemical chelators make me tired, you'll literally feel exhausted if you do lots of that.. I have never experienced tiredness with cilantro, my good minerals are obviously not being deleted in the process. Cilantro-basil actually gives me energy, lots. Great clear head too.
Maybe you tracked more mercury than you want to think about into your house simply on the bottom of your shoes from the dentists office, which is why your dogs, being on the floor, get ill.
Leave the shoes outside till scrubbed next time.

Shoes aren't a real big problem since we always leave our shoes outside, it's cultural for us. When I get a chance I'll grab some basil and give it a try. It's good to see that you started out slow with the cilantro. Maybe I can follow that same pattern....maybe. What is a good colon clense? I think that would make a big difference. Do you ever feel like your getting a slight headache, then take algin and the problem goes away? One thing I notice is that it's a little harder to have a bowel movement. I figure that the extra work is alright with me as I don't expect it to be a cake walk.

Yep shoes by the door here too. It is cultural by now
By the time you are getting even a slight headache it's too late. You can keep it from getting worse but it usually takes a few days to go away. stay on the algin, daily. Any slight stuffy head is warning sign of possible big headache tomorrow.
The mercury/toxins affect your nerves very adversely, kind of paralyzes them and in regard to your colon, that can make you constipated because of the presence of more toxins than usual down there. really slow you down. Can hurt your kidneys if you get overloaded too so keep things moving.
Any herbal colon cleanse product you can find at the health food store should be ok. Make sure it doesn't have bismuth or anything metallic in there. I have one by Nature's Secret 'Super Cleanse' at current. I have a tea called 'Smooth Move' too, cheap, few bucks, that i like a lot too. I drink that 1-2 times per week it helps too and very mild.
I do eat feverfew once a week or so too, just in case. It's a mild, blood thinner you know, which is a good combo for things like chelating anyway.
I have learned most of this the hard way. I stick to it by now. By now I only use the herbal colon cleanse stuff for a couple days in a row every 2-3 weeks. i needed it big time 7-8 weeks ago, unloaded a lot of something tin can stinky for some strange reason all of a sudden. so, be prepared..
At this point I actually do the high enema thing once per week as the main item and all is going well. no pun intended. well maybe a little bit...
