I am so glad I found this site! I am going to get my amalgams removed as soon as I can. I have a question about mercury damaging neural tissue. Is it possible for the neural tissue to grow back or is the damage done permanently? Also I am only 18 so I haven't had my amalgams in as long as most of you guys which is a good thing. Thanks so much guys!! Peace be with you.

Hi there, welcome to the forum! YES, the brain can heal! as can many other tissues inside the body, but of course you need to remove the amalgams (safely with a biologic dentist with full protection and not rushing it). And changing your diet to support detox and aid healing (main things to eliminate for a mercury toxic person seem to be sugar, wheat/gluten (wheat is treated with mercury fungicide), fish (due to mercury contamination), caffeine and milk (apparently interfere with mercury detox). Cheese may also be an issue. Those are the main things to eliminate and it isn't easy because you can get enough detox just in giving those things up, but it is well worth it. When you eliminate them, your body can start to shove out toxins as well as reduce any high yeast levels (which many have with mercury). If you have serious case of candida? You may also need to give up all grains, fruit and high carbs (even potatoes, corn, peas etc). But this is more serious cases and does depend on you. Supplements to take usually are antioxidants (becuse mercury uses them up) like vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, milk thistle etc. Minerals like zinc and magnesium and B complex also usually is required. It does depend on the person though. mercury also depletes iodine and can block the action of it in the thyroid gland, which can also cause big problems. You might be wise to make sure you get enough iodine in your diet (you can take it as a supplement). The other is replacing essential fatty acids which mercury uses up big time. Fish oil (mercury free) can help, but in order to really replace what mercury uses, you'd be taking piles of it and that is hardly possible financially. Some decide to use Flaxseed oil, because it's cheaper and you can take much more (e.g. 1-2 tablespoons a day). You can mix it in plain sugar free yoghurt (acidophilus). antioxidants and essential fats are what mercury seriously depletes. Fats help heal up the brain. Animal fats are the best ones for the human body. Butter, lard, (fat on meat), and olive oil is a good oil also to use. Flaxseed too, but some might not respond to it that well. But it provides essential fatty acids. Aside from that, you'd be wise to find out a good chelation protocol to get the mercury out of you in a manner that doesn't make matters worse. Different protocols suit different people. Some find that sulfur foods (e.g. eggs, garlic, onions etc) can stir up their symptoms too much because sulfur can mobilise mercury. Others find it makes them feel better, it depends on the person. But sulfur foods are not true chelation agents, because they don't grip strongly enough to mercury. I woudl recommend, if you can, to get a book called "Amalgam Ilness, Diagnosis and Treatment" by Andrew Hall Cutler, as I feel this is probably one of the best books on mercury and how to chelate it and what to do and what to take. The protocol for me was one of the safest and most effective I ever used. The book is available on here. http://herballure.com/Products/AmalgamIllness_DiagnosisAndTreatment/index.htmlIt sounds a lot, but it's just stage by stage. I'd start by diet and supplements first, which is a good way to prepare yourself for dental work. And go from there! I hope this helps a little bit.

Thanks I really appreciate that! I'll definitely order the book along with "The Fluoride Deception" and give it to my family who I think all have mercury & fluoride poisoning as well.

Hi, you're welcome! It's a great pity that so many people are being poisoned and not from their own making. How to undo it is almost as painful as going through it. Detoxing mercury isn't easy, I went through it. Often, after you've had all amalgams out, there can come a point where your body will start to try and dump the storage. It's almost like amalgam removal is the trigger to this. For some it can start after 3 months, some it can start much later. Because after amalgams are gone, the body detects there is no more ongoing daily intake and can then start to try and dump it's years of storage.
I actually went into an almost remission of symptoms after all amalgams were gone (got much worse first due to swallowing amalgam during removal). But then once I got through that, I thought I had improved and things were going "ok" until the mercury dumping stage hit me (about a year or more later) and I thought I was being repoisoned....in a sense I was, the stored mercury was leaking back out!
So often people aren't aware of this and can become quite devastated when it hits, not understanding what it is. Proper chelation can help this alot! And get you well much faster, than if you left nature to it. Also some people need chelation becuase their own bodies maybe poor at eliminating mercury. If you chelate early on (after amalgam removal), you may find you don't notice the dumping stage as much. Because the chelation will have already been pulling mercury out of you!
Chelation can of course worsen symptoms during the time of detoxing, but you can keep the symptoms much less if you follow a protocol that suits you and one that cuts down on the mobilisation of mercury (redistribution). It depends too how poisoned you are, how sensitive you are to mercury, and how well you eliminate what's been moved about and no doubt any other issues you may have at the sametime (virus,candida/pathogens etc).
Mercury is not usually in isolation. You may also be battling many other issues as a result of the toxicity from mercury. It's a difficult situation because one thing can cause you to become suseptible to other things and they all seem to set the other off and in the end you can be battling multiple problems, even if the underlying cause was mercury!

Yes I have been dealing with a lot of issues lately. Too many to mention actually. I pretty much isolated myself from everyone and thought I was going crazy. It makes me sick that I could have learned and done so much better in school without this mercury poison. I'm seriously gonna write a book about mercury poison and be on Oprah and exploit the cockroach Illuminati that we're not gonna stand for this !

Yeah, so long as you know that your "abnormalities" are "normal", given these kinds of toxins. Yes, I was affected in school also with what I believe was mercury most of my life and no doubt yeast problems too. Concentration difficulties, loss of motivation, tendency to withdraw and basically uncontrollable giggling and seeing the most inane things as being funny and/or weird unexplained depression and anxiety and even obsessions! along with vision changes and all kinds of odd things. Stuff that I could not even explain to people.
I'd imagine you can relate to this! Yeah, if you ever do get to write a book? Go for it! The more the merrier.
lol, yeah things are censored here, but hey, what you can't say with words, say it with pictures

You most definitely do have a chance! You also have youth on your side and it's wonderful you have caught onto this so early. I started to figure it out by age 22, but I did not understand the ins and outs of it and rushed in with no protection for amalgam removal, plus I didn't think about the alternative materials and possible reactions to them...sometimes it's best to do testing beforehand. I don't know how accurate the testing is, but in hindsight, I'd do it anyway.
You'll learn a lot here on the amalgam forum!

Welcome Mega and congratulations on figuring out amalgams have been causing your problems. Good luck in your quest to get better. Reading and learning is mega important. That Andy Cutler book explains it all, so make sure you read that one. Doctors dont know $hit about mercury and how is cure it, so you gotta be your own doctor. The more you learn and understand the easier it is and the less problems you will get.
You are young and have caught it early so your recovery should be
easier? Quicker? Smoother?
. I guess you are about to find out!
Feel free to ask a zillion questions. Someone somewhere will know.
