Hi,

I just wanted to add to what Sandra said - I too have been using the Cutler protocol with good results. I have been more convinced by the reasoning behind the Cutler protocol that any other - it seems very rational and is based on the principle of slow, steady chelation, though using some fairly powerful agents.

DMSA and ALA can be harmful if not used properly. It's important to start slowly, and stop anything if a bad reaction occurs - start with a low dose to see how much you can tolerate, and then work up. If you do this, then it's safe.

I started on 30mg if DMSA. I'm now on 60mg, which feels about right. 100mg is quite high but if you can tolerate it Sandra that's great! I tried ALA a couple of months ago, but even a tiny amount (4mg) caused an Hg reaction. I assume my body burden was still too high at that point. I'll try it again when I'm further down the line.

I know that Hg is buried quite "deep" in my system, and I need something fairly strong (without being too agressive!) to get it out. I tried Algin, but unfornately it didn't have much effect in my case.

The main benefit I have noticed from taking DMSA is that I can now exercise without having an adverse reaction. I also feel "cleaner" somehow.
