Hi Linda
If I remember rightly you developed cortisol dysfunction when you came off your antidepressant. As I wean off Lorazepam myself <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I can vouch that this does cause havoc with your adrenals, and mine are fully supported, belt and braces, with prednisolone, without which I suspect I would be totally non-functional.
My guess is that you had some pretty significant adrenal fatigue to start with from the withdrawal, before embarking on the amalgam removal and chelation thing, which will have stressed your adrenals further. Thyroid is also likely to have been a problem from the withdrawal thing, and is exacerbated by the adrenal fatigue. It may be that, in trying so hard to get better, you have actually got worse.
I think you are in the right hands with Dr Peatfield though. He will treat adrenals and thyroid properly, and if mercury / candida is no longer a problem for you, then you should be one of the lucky ones who just has to find the right thyroid / adrenal dose to regain your life! Replacing thyroid hormone should heal the adrenals (they work in tandem), and you may be able to wean off adrenal support. I would say it is looking quite positive.:)
